Worst property managment ever 8/23/2007

It is my GREATEST hope that any person considering renting from Alice Swope PLEASE read this.I rented an apartment from Swope Thompson for a 1 year lease before the purchase of my home.Before signing the lease with her office manager (who was nice at the time) i viewed the property with her & the last tenants left it a nightmare and Swope did not clean,paint or repair anything prior to me moving in so i asked if i could paint and i did not mind cleaning up and Charlotte said it would be no problem.I cleaned for a week straight including having the carpet professionally cleaned & i painted the grease yellow dingy white walls and lived for 1 year paying on time EVERY month never late,only lodging 1 complaint about my neighbor had ferrel cats (NO PETS ALLOWED) that would tear holes in my convertible top and left liquids from its wounds as well,but nothing was ever done, twords the end of my lease i gave my notice to vacate .Before the end of the month i receive a call from my neighbor telling me someone is trying to enter my property so he gave a discription of the person & car turns out it was the (now evil) office manager so i go home & read my lease it reads she must give 24 hours notice to enter my dwelling well i never received a call so i contact her and she told me she wanted to take pictures of my apartment for the end of the lease so i let her.45 days after i move i receive less than 1/2 of my deposit LATE in S.C they have 30 days or you receive double your deposit OH NO not Swope they are ABOVE any law.I left the place spotless including cleaning the carpets,painted again (better than the original yellow greasy old paint but they accused me of using oil based which i did NOT) and then informed me i left the place a wreck.It was spotless and in 100% better condition than when i moved in so ANYONE wanting to rent expect NO HELP WITH PROBLEMS and EXPECT ILLEGAL entry and DO NOT EXPECT YOUR ENTIRE DEPOSIT BACK ONTIME if any, FOR BEING A PAYING CLEAN TENANT Pros: cheap Cons: a billion thumbs down more
