Best Place in Pullman for Lunch and Dinner 6/4/2007

As a long-time resident of Pullman (20 plus years), I've seen a number of restaurants come and go. Swilly's alone steadfastly remains and has consistently served delicious meals made with fresh, delicious ingredients and prompt, courteous, attentive service from all staff members. My current favorite is the pork medallions with vanilla fig sauce, served with sauteed baby bok choy over garlic mashed potatoes. MMmmm ! My only wish is a more frequent change in menu (however, I do not approve of the removal of the great pasta salads that were served ! Bring those back !) In fact, one of their up and coming young chefs, Connor, is headed to the prestigious Culinary Institute of America ! (A future Food Network star ? Maybe !) Every restaurant from Pullman to Lewiston is swamped during football weekends and big event weekends in Pullman, so do like the locals do, and avoid restaurants during that time. If that is not feasible, go very early or expect a long wait. more

Dinner and desert like nowhere else nearby. 8/15/2006

I've been to Swillys three times now for dinner. The first time I purchased a pasta dish (some kind of Alfredo.. bear with me it was a while back. But it had small chunks of apple in it, and it was great!) The second time I believe I got the same thing. And the last time I went for the steak. Every time has been great. While the menu can seem small at times, I think almost everyone can find a couple of things to choose from. And while the choices can be limited, Swilly's definitely goes for quality. Even more impressive are the desserts, which range from a simple (and excellent) chocolate mousse to elaborate cake and ice cream dishes. In my opinion this is the best quality food in Pullman. There are a few downsides. In some cases you have to pay decently (but not unreasonably) for certain dishes, the wait can be a bit long, and I do wish there were a few more selections on the menu. But overall I would say the pros definitely outnumber any cons! Thanks for reading! more

the swillys hole 7/25/2006

I dont understand why people in Pullman would even waste their time. The wait is terrible. The service is immature and the salmon is mealy. I have been there for both lunch and dinner and i can't imagine going back. The interior is extremely cramped to the point of odors from the restrooms permeate the entire facility. :(( If you dont mind waiting an hour for a cramped table and bathroom odors swirling about your filet mignon then you should be fine. However, I now drive 5 minutes and enjoy the Red Door in Moscow. more

Great for Lunch 7/21/2005

Swillys is certainly the nicest place to eat in Pullman. While I don't personally enjoy eating there for dinner, I highly recommend their lunch menu. It is very reasonably priced, and the food is excellent. As excellent as can be found in Pullman anyway. more
