I think they are average but some of the things are really good too. When I get a dessert I want extraordinary not average or slightly above. Anyway, I recently ordered a cake online from a local bakery, THEY EVEN DELIVER!, and they were outstanding! Not too sweet, made to order and all made from scratch. If you have been disappointed with the local bakeries here than try Little Bit O'Spice Custom Cakes/Cupcakes.Its great! I needed a cake for my daughter's birthday because the local bakery "lost" my order! She did a great job ..not only was the cake beautiful but it was also so delicious! It was moist, and the frosting was prefect! She is the only place I will get my baked goods from now on. She does cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and other baked items. This is the best bakery in the world. I lived in High Point for 40 years until 1990 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Every time we go back to High Point, We load up on all kinds of sweets to bring back to Nashville. On a scale from 1 to 10, the sweet shop is a 15. Great people, Great baked goods ! more

They are OVERPRICED, OVER SWEET CAKES and Pastries..no wonder is its called sweet shoppe... The enclairs are huge but inside its way too filled with filling that would give you a tooth ache. The cakes are expensive, they are pretty but thats about it...The large cookies are dry, and almost 3 bucks, um for that I can go to Subways and get 3 for 100 cookies that taste much better...I got a b day cake last year after my daughters friends bragged how good they are...never again..not one decent bakery in High Point, Im from NYC, I used to having good stuff but out here, ppl eat any crap more

I absolutely LOVE the Sweet Shoppe Bakery! No one makes birthday cakes like them. Their icing is great. Their chocolate brownies are out of this world. Also, love their cookies! more

I really do hate to be the first one to give them a bad review and I have never complained about a business in my life before. However, I started working in the High Point area about 1 1/2 years ago and heard such great things about the bakery and couldnt wait to try them! After spending way too much on a platter of dry but beautiful sugar cookies for christmas and just receiving rude service yesterday buying a birthday cake for my husband, which she promised me didn't have coconut in it and 2 out of 3 members of our household do not like coconut and it had coconut in it, I wont be back. I just tried to talk to a manager or owner and the lady who answered the phone said they wouldnt be available to Tuesday, so thats why I'm posting this review. I love coconut and thought oh well I'll eat what I can and freeze or give away the rest, however the cake is dry but edible with coffee and you could feel the sugar crystals in the frosting , it felt like it wasn't ever mixed together, more

I have had Sweet Shoppe Bakery cakes and cookies most of my life. I can remember as a child having birthday cakes from there. I love them still today! Hands down, the best cut out cookies I've ever had! I live in Wake Forest (2 hours away) and my dad still lives in High Point. He brings cookies and cakes when he can. I wish you had a website for ordering! more

This bakery is the best! I drive over 2 hours just to shop at (and smell) this wonderful bakery. Everything I have tried is great. It's one of the good old fashioned bakeries with friendly customer service. more

During our five years living in High Point, Sweet Shoppe was hands down my favorite place for cakes and yummies!! They did most of my son's birthday cakes, and the cakes always looked better than I expected, and they always tasted great. The shop smells like the icing that they use - I can't explain it, you just have to go! And if you are bargain hunting, check out the bottom rack near the door. They sell their day old goodies for a steal in very large packages! more

I ALWAYS order my daughter's birthday cake from Sweet Shoppe Bakery. It is always moist and delicious. The icing is sweet but not overly done. Perfect. The staff is always friendly and will help you will anything they can. We have been going to Sweet Shoppe bakery since I was a child (long time) and now I'm glad I can hand down this tradition to my daughter. more

I have never tasted anything at this bakery that I did not absolutely love...cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, pies, breads, etc!!! The smell when you walk in the door is heavenly! The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. The only negative is that I think I gain 10 pounds every time I walk in the door! more

I have tired alot of cakes and The Sweet Shoppe has the best cakes ever. I have only had Birthday cakes and some of the pastrys. But my daughter is getting married in March and I was just wanting to look at some wedding cakes. I have actually made wedding cakes before and I know that can be time consuming. I would like to but not at this time. more

This bakery has the best chocolate brownies I have ever eaten. They are so moist and just melt in your mouth. I also like their cakes and cookies. Every product that I have ever bought has been good, but the brownies just stand out with me. The employees have always been courteous and friendly and when I have placed a special order it has always been ready on time and done correctly including a cake that we had done with writing on the top of it for my husband's grandmother's birthday. It is definitely a pick up only bakery as there is no seating area. Easy in and out to Centennial and to Highway 68. Plenty of parking. PROS: Best Brownies, good products CONS: Small business more
