Sushi and Service is Amazing! 1/8/2009

This place is located not too far from my work, and I recently just discovered it with a friend of mine. The first time we went there, the lady who owns it is so sweet. The service is great, but if you love a homey-family feel, then you'd love this place. You cannot help but love the lady because she's adorable. The sushi there is also delicious. It's prepped there on the spot, quick, and very affordable; compared to other places you'd get more for your money here! If anyone asked, I'd definitely recommend this place! Pros: Service more

Editorial review from GrubHub 5/27/2008

Decent. Delivery was on time, everything was packaged nicely. The Pho was not great, but it satisfied a craving. There just aren't many Vietnamese places that deliver... I would probably order from here again simply given that. more

Great Sushi! Great Service! Check it out! 3/18/2008

What more can I say...I think the title says it all! The service and sushi are amazing here and with it being BYOB the bill is totally reasonable and this is a place where you can spend under $20 a person and leave feeling totally full! I've been there quite a few times and every time I've gone I haven't been disappointed. Pros: BYOB, Service, Food more

BIG tasty portions - LOW price 1/14/2008

""Wow - Unexpectedly amazing. A friend + I were shopping + stopped in to Sushi 28 Cafe before heading home on a Fri. night around 9pm. We ordered the sushi for 2 + a dragon roll - OMFG - the sushi could not have been better! We had no idea how GOOD this places was + were certainly glad we stopped in! I highly recommend this easily passed over sushi restaurant. The food was so well prepared + tastey - especially for such a small cafe. Pros: VERY tasty - LOW prices more

Vietnamese dish not very authentic 9/15/2007

The owners were very friendly, but the food was less than mediocre. I had a very basic Vietnamese dish for lunch - Bun Thit Nuong (Vietnamese rice noodles with pork and shrimp). Thin vermicelli noodles were not used. Instead, they used a thick round oriental nodle. There was a brown soy sauce-like concoction at the bottom of the bowl. The shrimp and pork were both overcooked and the nuoc cham had no flavour. It was relatively expensive ($7.95) for the quantity and the quality of the food. Maybe the sushi is better... Pros: Service Cons: Food more

A+ Service, Price, Taste 12/9/2006

Sushi 28 has the best customer service I have ever had. The owners were very polite and extremely sweet. The sushi was excellent tasting. Not only did the sushi taste great but the price was incrediblely reasonable and the rolls were huge! We had a great experience and byob is offered at no additional cost. Go try this place for sure! Pros: Price, Customer Service, Taste more

Great food with the nicest customer service 9/3/2006

My first impression as I walked in was I felt as if I was family. This restaurant has the friendliest attentive staff I've experienced in a while. (I had just experienced the rudest, poorest customer service from a very high priced ""upscale"" establishment in downtown.) I was impressed with my entire meal from the bubble tea, gyoza, sushi and pho. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Pros: Customer service and amazing food more

AMAZING PHO Noodles!!!! 9/2/2006

The PHO has me hooked! So fresh!! Wonderful service! The chicken PHO was great! I then have since been to other places and nothing has compared. So I keep going back. My friend is hooked on the mango smoothies - so we go and get pho and smoothies. Pros: Fresh, amazing food! Quick, friendly service! more

Best Sushi in Chicago 7/15/2006

This place is a hidden gem! The service was wonderful and the sushi was outstanding. Went with friends on a Saturday night and we tried over 10 different items from the menu, which were all fantastic. There was no wait for a table, the staff was very friendly and prices are reasonable too. The restaurant is also BYOB! Pros: great food, great prices, great service Cons: none! more

It's perfect for a pre-movie dinner across the street from the Landmark theater. Pros: inexpensive, great food, friendly more

Sushi 28 - great sushi, great service 5/1/2006

Sushi 28 is definitely a great place for sushi. Good food and you're treated really well. You can dress comfortably, and you're not likely to have to wait for a table. The people who run the place are extremely nice to the customers and they make great sushi! more
