If you want sushi and you are on the upper west side, don't even waste your time trying this place. There was hardly any fish in my roll and on top of having no fish, it wasn't r...

Great for dinner before a show 5/7/2009

I am so glad I tried out sushi a go go before I caught a show at Lincoln Center. My friends and I let the waitress know we had a 8pm curtain and she was great with timing everything. The sushi was fresh and filling and reasonably priced, especially for that area. I wasn't in love with the somewhat stale decor, but the service and food made up for the lack of ambiance. I will definitely be back. Pros: great service, delicious sushi Cons: little cafeteria-like more

My 1st Time 3/20/2009

This is the first place I had sushi! I was always scared/grossed out by raw fish lol. But now I'm hooked! This place is awesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pricing is very reasonable and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Its a great place to hang out with friends. Cocktail: Lemongrass Mojito... awesome! Pros: awesome affordable sushi Cons: the tables are too close to each other more

Thanks For The Memories 1/28/2009

This little gem nestled on the Upper Wet Side, holds a special place in my heart. It is where I proposed to my second wife after a night of swing dancing on the promenade at Lincoln Center. Over the years we have enjoyed a lovely menu that infuses american concepts with Japanese culture. Recently we returned to the city after a long trip to Bora Bora and we were delighted to see that our favorite restaurant was still as wonderful as we had remembered. The diverse staff has always made us feel most welcome. Thanks for the memories! Pros: Great Location and Cheery Staff Cons: None more

Great Place to Hang 1/23/2009

I love this place to hang out and savor great sushi at reasonable prices. The fish is super fresh, and the selection is fine. In addition they have a nice selection of sake and a really nice wine list. I also lobe their ramen noodles, big bowl full of spicy beef and noodles, really really good. Service is warm and friendly, and the music is great. Great place to meet people. In the summer they have a terrific outdoor cafe. See you there! Pros: Great, Fresh Sushi Cons: None more

Bad Economy....Not Here!!!! 1/17/2009

with so many buisness's suffering from a bad economy, it is refreshing to dine at this little jewel of a sushi bar. I have dined here for years, and it continues to improve all the time. They have some how avoided to raise their pirces, and that has translated into a full restuarnt on a snowy, cold weekend day!! One point of interest, it is not the price that I love, the food is great, the sushi is super fresh, and the place is freindly and hot. The spicy edamame is like no other I have ever had, very addictive. You can wash it down with one of their great drinks, like coconut sangria. Love the ramen dishes, huge bowls full of ramen noodles, the beef version is full of thin slices of beef in spicy rich broth. The udon noodles are out of this world, coming in a huge earthenware vessel, steaming with thick noodles, chicken meat, vegetables and an egg. The desserts are not the typical Japanese desserts, more French, but non the less great. Pros: Great Ramen, Delicious Udon Cons: None more

Fresh, Freindly and Delicious 12/27/2008

I have enjoyed this small "sunny" sushi bar for years. It always pleases. Sushi a Go-Go is always busy, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. They also are constantly adding new dishes; dont miss the spicy edemame, finger licking good! The have a small selection of ramen, the spicy beef ramen is as advertised, spicy. but it is also very good, and it is served in a huge bowl for under 10 dollars, great deal considering it is Lincoln Center. They have a nice selection of wines, and sakes. I really enjoy this place, and in the summer the outdoor cafe is the place to be. Pros: Very Fresh Sushi, Great Ramen Cons: none more

Its been years....but still my favorite 12/19/2008

This little jewel of a sushi bar has been opened for years. It has continued to improve and stay fresh. They always are adding new dishes that have become new favorites. They have a selection of ramen that are served in huge bowls filled with steaming broth, noodles, vegetables and weither fish, meat or vegetarian, just plain good. The sushi is always fresh and the menu prices are very fair. Love the selection of sakes, and house flavored sake. Staff is very warm and accomodating. In the summer the outdoor cafe is a wonderful place to hang out in. Pros: Sushi, Ramen, Sake List Cons: Doesn't take reservations more

Wonderful Sushii.. 10/10/2008

Food - Absolutely wonderful. Sushi a-go-go?s style is to use the finest ingredients and combine them in incredibly creative ways. With so many courses and each one of them exceptional it is hard to pick a favorite but the white tuna tataki is a good place to start - perhaps followed by the salmon don. The presentation was also top notch. Everything placed just right and perfect. more

Best Hamachi anywhere but ... 9/26/2008

One of my favorites sushi restaurantes in Manhattan, the best spicy tuna roll and the numbre one quality "hamachi"... but ,despite this, I will never come back if one of its waitres , a nasty blond girl named "Holly" remains serving tables there. Avoid her! It is a pitty that people that this Holly can ruin the reputation of a such a good restaurant! Please kick her out!!! more

Great Sushi....Celebrity Chef!!! 9/19/2008

I love Sushi a Go-Go, it is fun, hot, and very fairly priced. The sushi is extremely fresh and delicious. I frequent the place and was shocked to realize the other evening that the owner is a chef that I use to love on food network. I use to love his show and then he disappeared. He was so much fun, and hot too!! He is about to open another restaurant a few blocks away; a Jewish style deli. Cant wait!!!! Meantime, don't miss this wonderful place. Pros: Great Inventive Sushi, People Watching Cons: None more

Best New Dish of the Year 9/13/2008

I have been to may sushi restaurants and often order steamed edamame, always good, but this time at Sushi a Go-Go, I ordered Spicy Edamame. I eat out often, this has to be the best new dish I have eaten all year. Quite simple, not overly spicy with a citrus overtone.....great!!! The sushi was delicious and very fresh. I also had a vegetarian ramen, it came in a big bowl, streaming and full of delicious vegetables. The prices are inexpensive, the place is fun, and best of all, they deliver. Love it.....dont miss the edamame!!! Pros: Best New Dish of the Year!!! Cons: None more

Affordable Sushi 8/25/2008

I took my friend here for her birthday and it was great sushi for a really affordable price. I would definately go again. In fact, I ordered Sushi a-go-go to be delivered to my house over this past weekend and it arrived in no time! Also, my favorite dish is the avocado salad and spicy edamame!! Pros: Good sushi Cons: ambience more

Great Sushi..Beautiful Girls...Great Time 7/19/2008

Decided to spend this past Friday at Sushi a Go-Go. Place is super cool, cool music, great sushi and the crowd was amazing. We had edamame, they were great, spicy and addictive. My friend embassassed us by ordering a burger, but wow, it was great. We had amazing sushi, and ended up meeting some amazing girls, great place for a hot, hot Friday night. Pros: Great Food, Great Crowd Cons: None more

Sooo....Good! 7/12/2008

This small sushi place is just yummy!!! I have never seen "spicy edamame" before, they are intoxicating. What's better than enjoying their house flavored fruit sake, outside in their outdoor cafe, while enjoying these delicious beans. Don't miss the rest of the menu, the ramen is great, and I enjoy this steaming bowls of noodles, even during the summer. The sushi is very fresh and inventive, don't miss the salmon roll with sundried tomato and roasted garlic oil. All this and they deliver too!!! It is just soooo....good! more

Just Love This Place 7/5/2008

It is so rare to find a restaurant that after so many years, just continues to get better. The service is very good, warm and friendly. The sushi has always been very good, and very fresh. To my surpirse they have lately added so many new dishes, making it always fun to go. The "spicy edamame" is amazing, and like no other I have ever had. The other evening I brought friends, one friend didn't eat sushi, so he had a burger they had on the menu, Wow! Great! All this, and a wonderful outdoor cafe where you can sit outside, overlooking Lincoln Center. Doesn't get much better. Pros: Spicy Edamame, Great Sushi, Great Burger Cons: None more

What a Surpise! 6/28/2008

I have frequented this cute restaurant many times, and it continues to strive to be better all the time. The sushi is always super fresh and delicious, and lately they have added alot of new great dishes, such as a selection of ramen noodles. Just the other day I was surpised to find a burger, not the usual fare in a sushi bar, big, juicy, delicious with sauteed onions, mushrooms and a wonderful ginger teriyaki sauce, and all for under ten bucks! This place is always busy, and there is good reason for that! Pros: Super Fresh Sushi, Great Food Cons: Always Busy more

good sushi, cheap saki 6/11/2008

The sushi is in fact good, though there are better places in Manhattan, with more variety of rolls and much more affordable. The saki, though, is not only good, but pretty cheap. You can seat at the restaurant and look at people going to Lincoln Center, but it's hard to get a seat before theater. more

Much More Than Just Sushi!!! 5/17/2008

I always loved Sushi a Go-Go, but thought of it as mostly sushi. This place has morphed into one of the best restaurants in the area. The past evening I dined in their outdoor cafe, what a setting, in the shadows of Lincoln Center. We began with a great chilled sake that our server recommended, a great choice. We then had a dish that they call "spicy edamame", this is opne of the best dishes I have had in recent memory. Very simple, with a spicy, but not overly spicy, with a citurs overtone, you can not stop eating them! We then had a dish called a "softshell crab BLT", wow! This is the perfect summer dish. We also had some sushi that was impecable. I always enjoyed this place, but now I have fallen in love with it! Pros: Great Sushi, Spicy Edamame, Great Sake List Cons: None more

Super....Super!!! 5/3/2008

I just love this place. They are always trying new things, and they never miss. Don't miss the "calamari ramen", spicy and delicious.....and you can wash it down with a watermelon flavored sake. Just Super! The sushi is soooooo good and suoer fresh. The service is so friendly and accomodating. The place is cool and intoxicating. Pros: Ramen, Sushi. Great Drinks Cons: None more

The Best!!!! 4/25/2008

Love this place. The food is amazing, sushi is so fresh and so delicious. I love the vegetarian ramen noodles. Hanging out in their outdoor cafe is so hot, they have great drinks to enjoy while sitting out on Broadway, and waiters are so hot. This is simply the best! Pros: Great Food, Great Sushi Cons: None more
