Where everyone knows your name... 11/13/2002

These are the friendliest bunch of sushi chefs in town! I have never had a bad meal here (I have been going there about 3x a month since they opened). While they need to improve their service (a bit too slow - even for sushi), pick some better music and lower the prices - it is my favorite of all the sushi bars in the Twin Cities. They make me feel like Norm on "Cheers" every time I go there! Thanks Tango, Pow, Quo, Ying, Seefu and Donna! Pros: consistantly fresh, friendly chefs, location Cons: smokey, a bit pricey, too slow more

Thank you Tengo 11/10/2002

Hi Tengo, Scott and Winona say thanks! We did not order, just asked you to serve us whatever you wanted. And oh, that was the right decision. Thanks for taking care of us on our 1st date! Very fun! Pros: Mr. Tengo, Good service, Urban more

For Inland Sushi: Not Bad 11/8/2002

Though not what you would call great in Japan or even on the coasts, Tango is still at the top of the Twin Cities sushi market. The prices aren't cheap. But that's to be expected for something trendy this far from the ocean. The service is good and the chefs and owner are personally friendly. Try the scorpion or the centipede roll. If only the location were more appealing... more

Not recommended 10/28/2002

This is not a good atmosphere for enjoying sushi. The music gets to be a bit loud (louder near closing time). The food was expensive and the portions did not reflect that. I wanted a big mac after spending over 150 bucks at this place! Normally that feeds over 4 people at other sushi places. Not recommended. Cons: expensive more

Fun, Friendly and Yummy 10/24/2002

Love the relaxed atmosphere ... the sushi chefs are always fun and encourage you to stretch beyond your typical order. Great music is always playing, the pours from the bar are healthy and the Tango Maki is my favorite roll in the cities. A great mix. more

Super Sushi! 9/16/2002

I love the place! Delicious food for the sushi lover and several offerings for the non-sushi lovers. Attentive staff, great Saki bloody mary! Pros: atmosphere, food, beautifully prepared Cons: need more ginger! more

don't waste your time 9/15/2002

Service was horrible. Bartender didn't know how to make a Sex on the Beach. Sushi was ok, but, they had a long pre-made rice roll in which they just cut slices off. more

ehhh....its in a Mall... 9/12/2002

The Sushi was ok I guess. I thought the rolls were just ok. Doesn't compare to Kikugawa or Origami for me. Service was horrendous. We waited for our food for an hour on a weekday night when they weren't busy at all, and when we were done we waited for our bill for another 30 minutes. Note to servers: Napkin on table, distant bored stares = done eating. Didn't seem to get much for the money at all. Mall sushi is the best way to describe it. Pros: Open late Cons: Its in a Mall, Bad Service, So so sushi more

Have had better... 9/6/2002

... sushi and service. I've been to Sushi Tango a couple of times before and find theirs not as good as that of Fuji-Ya's - with no comparison possible to that of the Origami. As far as the service, well, we did just give up waiting to be seated. I had called to make reservations only to be told that they only take reservations for groups of six or more. They should revise that number downward considering the limited seating!. I was also told that there shouldn't be a wait (Hello? 8pm. Friday. C'mon!). Cons: crowded more
