Amazing! 10/12/2010

This is my favorite place to get Sushi! My wife and I come here at least 2-3 times a month not only for the amazing food, but the prices are unbeatable. The sushi rolls that we get every time are: California Roll, Crunchy Roll and the Las Vegas Roll. They even have very good food for those who don't like fish; it's called their Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. It only costs like $6-7 and is a very generous size portion for the price. The couple who owns it takes very good care of their customers, the restaurant and the food. The owner and operator use to work at many of the expensive asian/shushi places in the valley, so therefore is very experienced with a high level of understanding of sushi. My wife and I went last weekend and got soup, salad, 6 dumplings, 3 sushi rolls and 2 drinks for $25. I recommend this place to everyone. more

SImple, Inexpensive, & Excellent 2/17/2010

Discovered this place several years ago. It is a small strip mall like cafeteria that has some of the best sushi and sashimi in Utah. It is definitely a real japanese restaurant. This place has zero pretense, and everybody seems to be welcome here. No alcohol is served here, but the excellent food and the green tea are just fine, and probably a good thing for me, as I live at the other end of the valley. Pros: Excellent Food and Service Cons: Could be open more often. more

Best Sushi in Utah! 6/4/2008

Sushi Express is right near my house in Sandy. It is hands down the best sushi I have ever had in Utah or in California. Its nearly impossible to find good seaweed but Sushi Express does it best!! It's way better than Mikado and if you are unfamiliar with how to eat sushi or what to get the friendly staff and chef will be more than happy to teach you everything you need to know! The best part is, it's reasonably priced you can get sushi anytime you want. Sushi Express is in it for the service not nessecarily the money. Pros: Best Sushi in Utah Cons: no beer more

Excellent sushi at great prices 1/2/2008

Easily the best little sushi place in town. It's not fancy like Ichiban but the owner is legendary, the sushi is always flawless and the folks are really nice too. On top of that, the prices are best in town so you can order MORE! \r \r It's in a little strip mall, doesn't serve beer or wine and is not cozy but it is bright and clean.\r \r I've been sending friends there for years and it gets 100% happy feedback. Pros: Fresh and perfectly prepared sushi Cons: No beer. The dining area is spartan. more

sushi express , although a small hole in the wall restaurant, is the best sushi restaurant that we have found.Seating is limited but in the many times that we've been there we only had to wait once for a seat and it was well worth it. The sushi is always fresh and service friendly. My favorites are the tuna sashimi and the las vegas rolls,everything we've tried has been outsstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone that knows anything about quality sushi..........both thumbs up to Sushi Express:) Pros: best sushi in Utah Cons: small restaurant , but don't let that stop you more

Excellent Sushi! 4/19/2006

Although not the most convenient of places, well worth a trip out. (even if you live very far away) Authentic Sushi, experienced and extremely friendly staff. Salt Lakes dark little sushi secret. Who knew? I did! I followed the owner/chef Tak-san from his day at Sakura Sushi! itsumo osewaninarimasu! A must for sushi lovers - and VERY reasonable! Pros: Great Sushi, Freindly Staff, Reasonable Prices more

Great surprise in Sandy. 11/22/2005

I always saw this little shop as I drove past it almost every day. I wanted to always try it but unsure how it would be. I saw the reviews on citysearch and decided to check it out and to my surprise it was fantastic. The chefs there make you feel welcome and the cleaniness was good. I will go back and I recommend this little surprise to all sushi lovers. more

I have been to most of the sushi restraunts in Utah and Sushi Express is by far my favorite. Their fish is always fresh, they have great deals, and their employees are very friendly. more

I love sushi express. Their fish is always perfectly fresh, the edamame is delicious, the staff is knowledgable and nice and they have creative, delicious roll specials. Everyone should eat here! Pros: good value, great food, knowledgable staff more

Unexpected Sushi 8/28/2002

Surprises are sometimes good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi at this place. The jellyfish nigiri was particularly delicious, though we had to really wait for our sushi order. It was worth it...if the speed in which my family devoured it all is any indication! I'd go back! more

Fast, cheap, fresh and good tasting sushi with out the hype. The owner is there, cooking most nights, and it shows in this small, neighborhood restaurant. If you live in Sandy and you want some sushi to go, this is the place. Pros: fast, Cheap, GOOD more
