Believe the One-Star Reviews 7/27/2010

When I walked in to check out a car, I was the only person in the building. Two sales people were at their desks and neither bothered to get up until I motioned for assistance. The ""showroom"", by the way, doesn't have a single chair.\r \r I liked the car I saw, so I came back a week later. This time a sales person came out, but walked up to me without saying anything. After driving the car, we talked about price and I was told I would get a call back the next day. The call never came, so I called at 4:00 that afternoon. The sales person told me he hadn't done anything yet and would call me back in 30 minutes, The call never came. \r \r Extremely poor service. Based on my experience and the reviews I've read here, it really does appear they just don't care. \r \r Definitely go somewhere else. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Many more

Outstanding Sevice 9/6/2009

I live in Los Angeles, but had spent 6 weeks working in Portland. My husband drove our Audi A3 up north so that we could take a long, meandering road trip back to L.A. along the coast and through the forests. Upon his arrival, he said that the car was losing force and felt ""funny."" I took it out, and he was absolutely right. We needed to leave the very next morning, otherwise we wouldn't have the extra time we needed to take the long way. Not knowing where to go, I took my car to Sunset Imports and was blown away by the heroic measures they took to get me out the same day. Though they knew that I would not be a returning customer for service or sales, and therefore didn't need to ""invest"" in cultivating a long-term relationship with me, they treated me like their favorite customer. In the end, they shoehorned my service into their busy schedule (without pointing out that they were doing me a favor) and did the research necessary to ensure that I didn't have to pay for the part. They even pointed out a few minor issues I should take up with my local Audi dealer. I don't know what kind of service people in Oregon are used to, but personally speaking, I wish I could transfer the employees and attitude of Sunset Imports to L.A. Thanks guys! Pros: Went Out Of Their Way To Help more

Are things going good at Sunset Imports? 7/11/2009

Called and scheduled service for Porsche to occur while I was out of town. As requested before dropping off my car I called to ensure they were ""prepared to receive"" me—I got their voice mail. When I arrived no one greeted me. The place was empty--zero customers--ZERO customer service. I had to go to an office and request assistance. As it turns out the Service person I called was off that day (no mention of this on their voice mail). The individual that did assist me initially provided good service and follow up that day and the next however, additional follow up (which was committed by them and needed) did not occur. I had to call 4X (each time leaving voice mail messages) until I reached someone in service to get a disposition on my vehicle. My calls spanned throughout the day (8 am - 3:30 pm). Worst of all I had to have the receptionist call/page the Service department multiple times and waited on hold while someone was located. Did I mention I left the car for 4 days? The work was to take only one day. I scheduled to pick up the car on Saturday at Audi (which is available for those that travel during the week). When I walked in there were no customers at all in the building or on the property (it was just after they opened so that may explain the lack of customers). There must have been 10 sales reps on the floor--each one looked at me as I entered and continued on gabbing with their fellow Sales reps. ZERO customer service--AGAIN! Even the receptionist was involved in the sales gab and unresponsive to a customer entering the facility. Once again I had to ask for assistance. Did I miss something about customer service and greeting the customer? Does Sunset Imports really know what perception they convey to the customer? My impression is the staff at this business is arrogant and certainly does not need my business to survive. My guess is business must be good at Sunset Imports. I hope your experience is better than mine. Good luck. Pros: Solid technicians in the service department Cons: Poor customer service and an arrogant sales team more

Great Service 2/3/2009

I don't know what the whole fuss is about from the previous reviews. Sunset Imports is great, I like how they have a customer relationship. And their prices are MSRP. Great Servicing for your car as well. more

DO NOT GO TO SUNSET 11/5/2008

Sunset Imports does not do good work. Bad service and expensive mistakes. I have owned porsches for over twenty years. They are great cars. Never had a bad experience until I worked with Sunset Imports. Cons: Irreverent customer service more

The only Audi dealer in town and they know it. 1/18/2008

The staff I experienced were freindly and kind. But my concern is honesty. They made me and offer which I wrote down in fromt of the salesman on his vehicle spec sheet. THey did not follow up as promised but offered me a few days to accept the deal. I called within the time frame and the terms began to change. I got the feeling that once they new I was interested, they thought that would fly. I called another dealer out of town and had the vehicle I wanted at Sunset shipped out of town top pick it up. The manager was not concerned when I explained what happened. I got a better deal on the exact same vehicle. I recommend checking Bend, OR (1 dealer), and Seattle- Tacoma (several Audi dealers). Save your money and keep them honest. Happy motoring! Pros: local Cons: Honesty, a large concern. more

My Experience 4/11/2007

Reading the above review made me laugh. To think of being miffed that they sold the car out from under your broker! Try doing business directly with them instead of paying a middle man. Sunset has always been, in my experience, very low-pressure and congenial. All the staff are unpretentious and non-threatening. Maybe you mistook the manager's behavior for disinterest when he was simply giving you a little space, unlike most car dealerships. I appreciate the fact that it is a local, family-owned place, so I can keep my money in the community. Pros: Nice showroom, but not pretentious Cons: No older used cars more

Don't go there 5/12/2006

I went there to shop for the audi A4 2006, and that at the end of 2005, they were not helpful, mainly the salesmanager, didn't even show interest, also they sold the car that I reserved via a broker without tell him!!, went to Seattle, and saved ~ 3000$ on the same car and they were great. Try the Seattle dealers much better. Cons: not friendly more
