Best

Nutburgers. That's all you really need to know about this place. Oh, and the tempeh burger. Oh, and the freshly-made, mind-blowingly good lemon tahini dressing. That's really it. ...

Worst

Obviously the cafe owners have never had real Heuvo's Rancheros (The delux heuvo's) and therefore should really not name it after overcooked eggs swimming in salty spageti sauce ...

Oh so delicousely healthy 12/21/2006

When the ingredients are closer to the soil they are the tastiest, and make you feel fresh, and happy. Yummy yummy breakfast! I particularly love the sesame waffles!!!! more

Seattle’s Oldest Vegetarian Restaurant 5/5/2006

The sunlight comes from the front walls of the two dining rooms, which are all window. Somehow it always seems sunny in here, even when the day is overcast. When I was a vegan, I had trouble deciding between the blushing lettuce salad with lemon tahini dressing (tahini has a tang sorely lacking in cheeseless diets) and the tostada (which normally came with cheese but could be made without). Whichever I chose, I always ordered a smoothie or one of the sugarless desserts. Breakfast is delicious and served all day. more

Straightforward, good veggie food 8/17/2005

Friendly waitstaff, a casual atmosphere, yummy food, and not a big hit to your wallet. We walk to this restaurant once a week or so for a reliably good vegetarian dinner. Much more expensive veggie restaurants with fancier food and a bigger selection of dishes are definitely available... but we've never gone wrong at Sunlight Cafe when we were in the mood for unfailingly yummy, simple food and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. For dinner, try the polenta with black beans and the sweet potato cakes. more

Great Cup o' Joe 8/16/2005

The Sunlight cafe, located near Roosevelt square, offers a tasty breakfast menu and some mighty fine diner coffee. Also vegetarian options and the occasional vegan pastry. The price is right though sometimes the portions are a little small. A great place to study or bring a date. Or maybe have brunch with the parents. more
