I was a bit nervous about going to Sun Bear because I've had either bad experiences at other salons or just not really satisfied with the results to go back again.
After trying out Sun Bear, I am so glad that I went. I don't get to go to salons very much, maybe twice a year the most, but I think I'll be going to Sun Bear a lot now!
Carolyn gave me a scalp treatment and brow wax, she was great! Then, she blow dried and straightened my hair. I have pretty thick hair that can be course at times, but she had no trouble at all. She asked me if I would like a hair cut, and I said, ""Sure! If we have time."" And, she made time to cut my hair. She asked me how I liked it and how I usually wear it, then took what I said into account, and gave me the most amazing hair cut. It wasn't anything fancy, she just used her skills to make my thick and sometimes wavy hair look straight, shiny, light - can't explain it well, but I love what she did! My hair is soft, smooth, and it just made me feel great!
Carolyn also did my make up for me. I don't use make up and have only put it on to practice here and there, so having Carolyn guide me and show me (as well as telling me what my foundation color is) was really helpful. I've gone to Macy's to those stations and to MAC a few times, but they just didn't really tell me what I needed to know as a beginner.
I also got pedicure and manicure. Ashley was really nice and took her time to make sure my nails were great.
I called early in the morning to schedule all of that and the receptionist was really helpful and scheduled all of that for me. It was amazing! The building and decor are really nice!
As a mom, wife and a working woman who has no time for even going to a salon to get a hair cut, I am definitely going to be a regular at Sun Bear. It is worth it!!
