This school is great, from the director, to the teachers, to the curriculum programs, everyone is on top of things. The school is very diverse, as is the area, but the attention to academic success (if that is important to you) is great. It isn't done in a pressured way, but the Montessori way - which is brilliant. Pros: Staff, Programs, everything Cons: none i can think of more

My child attends this school, she loves it there, and is learning tremendously. At family get togethers, I'm amazed at how much more articulate and well behaved she is when compared to other children of her age. Pros: Great curriculum, especially when in pre-k classes, great location, good value Cons: none i can think of! more

I would NOT recommend this school. My main impression from my visit is that they're far from loving and nurturing. We went for a tour and an ""interview"" with my 2 year old son. We waited 30 minutes for the director to arrive (we did have an appointment). When she finally arrived, she did not smile at all, looked very stern. She let my son play around in the hallway (no classroom) to see his behavior. Unfortunately, he was not behaving and was running around the hallway when observed. After a minute of watching him she started telling me ""he's very active, I don't think if he'll fit in our program"", ""You need to give him more commands"", ""You need to teach him English right now ?(we speak Spanish at home). All the research I've seen points to the importance of each parent being consistent in one language and not mixing both to avoid confusion. She kept telling me I needed to mix both languages at home: ""this is how I taught my children and how we teach children in India"". Doesn?t seem like she did much research, but what she thinks is treated like the gold standard in this school. She mentioned that two year olds don't ever throw tantrums in her school?! I enrolled my 3 year old son their about 8 months ago. Previously, he was in a daycare center, but felt that he was not learning -- it was simply babysitting with very little actual reading or writing. I did research on the Montessori philosophy, and visited several Montessori schools in the Houston and Sugar Land area. Then, a friend suggested Sugar Creek Montessori School, and I visited and met with the teachers and director. They were extremely knowledgeable and showed me the Montessori system. My friends children are older and and attended the school from kindergarden to 5th grade. They have since gone to the Kinkaid school, and have done extremely well. So far I think this is a wonderful school and have heard nothing but positive responses from other parents and friends. I would highly suggest this school for parents who truly want to see the true potential of young children -- it is amazing what they are capable of learning at this stage, don't waste it on a daycare! Pros: Excellent staff, programs, and directorship. Prices are reasonable for top notch instruction, Montessori certified teachers. Cons: Not the cheapest, but the best. more
