Sub Q Body Piercing

I have been here many times. ive gotten my belly button, ears, cartlage and tounge pierced by scott. he is AMAZING! im going to go back soon to get another piercing. everything is always clean and he is so nice. ive gone in there many times just to talk to him. he is AMAZING and i wouldnt go anywhere else. more

DO NOT GO HERE. I went here to get my septum pierced because friends had told me the main piercer was the best around. I'll give them this- the shop is clean, there's parking, and the tattooers were very nice. But the main piercer/owner is simply awful. I had been forewarned that he has an attitude but hearing he was a great piercer, I didn't really care. But guess what? He's an a**hole who cant even pierce! So he pierces me, and says he messed up and that it was off center and that he could do it again if I wanted him to. I asked if it was ok for him to pierce the same spot twice and he didn't really give me a clear answer, saying it was ""up to me."" I figured he knew what he was doing so I said he could go ahead and try again, thinking he'd get it right the second time. I was wrong. He messed up again, saying it was closer but I could decide for myself if I liked it. I wasn't sure what to do and neither was he. I had been through a lot of pain, having been pierced twice in the same spot. I didn't want to offend him or provoke any more attitude (which there was plenty of) and it looked okay so I left feeling pretty shooken up, mostly just wanting to get the hell out of there. After getting a bite to eat and having a chance to really look at my piercing without feeling rushed or demeaned, I decided he was right- it was uneven. I thought to myself, ""He was rude. He pierced me TWICE. And I have nothing to show for it other than an off-centered septum ring, dried blood on my nose (that he didn't bother removing all the way) and being $59 (plus tip, because I'm a nice person) poorer."" So with some moral support from my friend I got the guts to go back in there, and had the jewelry removed and got my money back (not the tip, but whatever). I told him he was rude and he attempted to excuse himself by revealing a little too much information about his personal life that my ""small perspective wouldn't be able to understand"". Just head my warning and stay far away from Sub Q. Listen to your gut instinct about things and don't let people who thrive off being mean to strangers anywhere near you with a needle. **P.S. My ears and bellybutton are pierced, and I have a tattoo. I was apprehensive about going for my nipple piercing, but talking to Scott before going in helped elivate some of the tension. He was very through, explaining aftercare and how the equipment was cleaned etc. He is very careful to stress aftercare and cleaning of the sites. I was treated with respect and care and not like a 58 year old crazy going through some kind of life crisis. The inital piercing were pretty intense (helllooo) but well worth the discomfort. I FIRST WENT TO SUB Q PIERCING RIGHT AFTER IT HAD MOVED TO THEIR I STREET LOCATION. I HAVE HAD MY NIPPLES, TONGUE, AND NOSE PIERCED THERE OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS. I HAVE GONE TO OTHER SHOPS, BUT NONE HAVE TREATED ME BETTER AND ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS. About a month ago, i got my rook pierced here. The enviornment was so welcoming and all the staff was very knowledgable. Because i'm under eighteen, they explained the piercing to my parent, and you could really tell that they knew what they were talking about. They answered all of my questions and were very polite. I have my tongue, a marilyn and my hood pierced. All 3 were done at Sub Q. I would not EVER go anywhere else. They are VERY clean and sterile. I have had no issues with any of my piercings. I just went there and got my tragus' pierced for the second time (first time was a different location). I decided to go there because I have really only heard positive reviews about the place, including a roccommendation from a family member. I was helped by Scott who's been in the business for (I think he said) 17 some-odd years. He, as well as the other employees and customers were very friendly. He is genuinely concerned that you have a good experience while there and later on down the road with your piercings; he also emphasized that if I were to experience any problems to PLEASE call, or if ""the worst case scenario"" were to arise to not bother calling, just show up so they could help out. It is good when a business 'really' cares about it's customers, Sub Q is not doing it to cover their a$$es, because chances are if you have a problem it's your fault (not following care instructions, etc.), they really care about you. I'm hoping I'm not making it sound like they are going to give you a hug when you come in the door, and send you a card on your birthday, they just want to to have a good experience. I have been to SubQ for several of my piercings and have always been impressed with their service and knowledge. I refuse to go anywhere else for my piercings. I had 3 piercings done in 2007 and not a single problem with any of them. As long as I can find a new place to pierce I will continue to go to SubQ. I was really nervous getting my ears re-pierced. After being flaked on by another piercer in town I called SubQ even though it's a bit of a drive for me. They were much more informative and reassuring. The guy there was able to reopen my old piercings at no charge and though he said it might hurt about the same as piercing I've had no pain (this was a week ago). They were even out of the smaller diameter rings and he had someone go make a pair for me in about five minutes. Really friendly, great atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of getting pierced or even just buying jewelry. Customer service is important to me, and they have it!
