Buy a day get a year free. Go once then you can go over and over again. The tour is really cool and maybe the best part of the park. The 3D King Kong section need multiple viewings. A great day for everyone. more

Universal Studio is a must when n LA, but it takes a whole day and you get exhausted.Definately buy a 'Front of the Line Pass' so you ship te hour long queues and take Preferred parking. Exensive sure but if you aready have decided to go to universal it is just a little extra and the event will be totally different. The shows are great. Eat outside in the city walk, ex Wolfgang Pucks place more

A great peek in the tricks of Hollywood 11/24/2007

The Studio Tour is probably the only thing about Universal Studios that IS good. It takes only like 40 minutes, but you get some good peaks at the studios backlot, including the houses used over and over for various movies and tv shows. They'll even explain how some special effects are put together and show you some landmarks of the industry (like Hitchcock's office). I've been on the tour probably half a dozen times but never seen a movie shoot in action. Better chances on the streets of LA, it seems. But if you do go to Universal Studios, at least redeem the admission costs by taking the Studio Tour. Otherwise you might find you've wasted a lot of cash on a nearly worthless amusement park. Pros: Worth the time Cons: Bumpy ride more

A movie lover's must 10/31/2007

If you are a movie lover, the Studio Tour at Universal is a must. No...you don't REALLY see how the movies are made...but it does give you a little insight into the ""studio"" life. If you have a tour guide who likes their job, you will laugh, groan, and probably shriek as you tram through parts of the back lot. The last time I did this tour, the old Parting Red Sea/Jaws portion of the tour was ""under construction"". I'm not sure what it is now, but we're considering going back this year just to see what they've put in it's place. More often than not I'm spending time at the City Walk...but that's a whole other review. more

Take the tour 2/21/2003

Tour fo Universal Studios is great and informative. As far as the park goes, i'm not a huge fan. Not a lot of shade and long lines. Go when not crowded. The tour is definately great for kids. Pros: Fun, Informative more

This GA Girl Loved Universal Studios 12/7/2002

My sweartheart and I loved Universal Studios Hollywood. It is amazing how much studio magic goes on behind the camera. The fire effects, the sounds, the set, all incredible. The crew really does a lot to get the crowd involved. Our tour guide was a little comedian. My favorite was the little town sets, and the water scenes that rush out at the bus. A word of caution, be prepared to get wet on the bus. The lines moved fairly quickly so such large groups of people. The scenary is breathtaking. It quickly remind you that you are in California. You can see all the houses on the slopes of the mountains. We can never look at a movie or music video the same. After all, ""it's all special effects the begin in where else...a studio."" A big waste of money. Tickets are way overpriced and the lines were long and the rides cheesy. more

Great place to ang out with the family.. 7/12/2002

Great place to ang out with the family.. Fun, exciting, lots to do hear. Lots of places to eat. It kind of expensive, but if your looking to see how movies are made and what has been made on thier lot, it fun to see it all. Food and drinks are expensive, I would suggest packing a lunch. Drink you can buy there, only because it will be hot and the drinks will have ice to cool you off. more

Constant Pleasure 6/27/2002

No matter how many times I go on the tour, it never gets old. I'm not sure how they keep the tour as exciting and fresh as they do, but they do! more

Hooray for Hollywood 6/13/2002

Lots of stuff to do here. If you don't do the tours you can see a movie or walk along the Citywalk. Plenty of places to eat. Anyone visiting here for the first time would really have some fun. You will not be bored here. more

Just go to bathroom first... 6/10/2002

It's about an hour and a bit on the bumpy side. I think I may have had the world's largest Big Gulp and the world's dumbest idea by hopping on this bad boy shortly thereafter. Regardless, it's fun, peaceful and keeps your interest, granted it has it's cheesy moments. I would recommend doing the tour FIRST (or rather SECOND after the trip to the restroom.) It's at the other end of the park and down about three or four very large escalators. You'll be better off starting there and working your way back so you can get everything in. more

universal studios is a really nice place...you can have a lot of fun and also can see a lot of interesting sights.. Pros: good parking, good service, good entertainment Cons: too expensive more

Cheesy, but fun 6/4/2002

It's something you must do at least once--the Jaws ""surprise"", the flash flood, King King's bananna breath. Kids love it, adults can tolerate it. more

Escapism in LA 5/29/2002

Universal Studios is a great place to spend the day. Because it's so centrally located, you don't have to make an entire days production out of it. Although you could, since nearby Citywalk provides plenty of other restaurants and stores to check out. more
