Awesome salon and staff! I had never been to this salon. HOW DID I MISS IT? It was near my house and I LOVE the salon and staff! Great color and they helped me figure out what would make me look GREAT and they made a fantastic decision! I went to Mandy. She takes the time it takes to really understand me, then the cut is EVERYTHING I hoped for! I brought pictures, and Mandy said she could do them....she did EXACTLY what I wanted! Thank you! I came to this salon having read many reviews. I had been having trouble with my past color, using one from my previous salon that is VERY VERY popular and well known. The older I have become, the more I have trouble with grey coverage, and I am tired of paying for color that isn't what I was wanting. I am THRILLED to have walked into this salon! Not only are the designers TOP NOTCH with their knowledge, but VERY TOP NOTCH in their team work. I was THRILLED that they only carry what they deem the best products on the market. THRILLED they carry a color line that COVERS GREY and better yet, THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR COLOR. For the first time I felt like I was TRULY GETTING MY MONEY'S WORTH and MY TIME'S WORTH. Their new swedish color line is AMAZING! Rich, pure, DOESNT FADE. I am SO happy with my hair! The color is amazing, and so is the cut. The Manager was SPOT ON with her color assistance, my designer, Connie was SO KIND and SO EAGER TO PLEASE. She was very understanding about my previous problem and extremely professional with her mannerisms. I am a Studio K Salon FAN and BIG lover of their Europeon color line. YAY! Here recently, the owner changed the color line...REF...HATE IT...My hair color is just so different. This salon is great, I will be back without a doubt. I purchased a LivingSocial Deal online for $50 worth of services for only $25. I called in the morning to schedule an appointment for a haircut in which case the receptionist was extremely helpful in making sure I got the most out of my $50 deal, she then got me an appointment that very day! I saw Mandy and she introduced me to highlights which came out amazing.. I have received so many compliments on the new color! The salon was busy and all the stylists seem to get along really well. The atmosphere was great, they really make you feel comfortable from the second you walk in the door. I have referred all my friends here. Best haircut I have ever gotten and great smiles and attitudes all around! more

This is a fantastic hair salon. I went in to this salon without knowing any of the designers, merely walked into this place because they had a sidewalk sign that caught my eye. The receptionist was welcoming and kind, and this place was clearly busy! I knew that with this many people getting their hair done, it had to be a great place. I did have to come back an hour later to (first time they had an opening) but didn't mind waiting at the front desk to get my appointment. I had Melissa do my hair. She is amazing! Great hair stylist. This place offers a vey friendly atmosphere, very obvious there are years of experience in this salon. The designers all looked great, and knew what they were doing I was instantly comfortable, and I am a FAN of this place! Will be back with my two teenage boys and my husband will be coming here too. Both men and women are really comfortable here! Color room is in the back which is also a great plus. I don't like my color done in front of everyone. I HIGHLY recommend this salon! more

I love this salon. I had a regular hairdresser who left and am very picky as most stylists I have encountered love to go crazy on my hair! Sarah did my hair today and she was just wonderful. Listened and asked lots of questions to make sure they style worked and was what I wanted. Very friendly and personable. Only thing I dislike about this place is the receptionist. She is not very friendly and half the time its like your bothering her. Or she just kind of talks off to the side like your not even there. My boyfriend complained about her too, saying when he went in to get the gift certificate it took her forever to even acknowledge him becaus she was so busy talking. Ok anyway she just threw out my gift certificate without even looking to see if there was a balance on it. I figured maybe she took it (was not much, $7 but still it could be used toward the next time instead of just thrown away.) Then looking at the receipt I saw the balance was still on there. Called and was told nothing could be done if that was the case. I would give five stars if she had better service skills. It kind of makes me not want to go back. I hate getting people in trouble and I'm sure if my name comes up it will come back on me when I go back there. more

I had a thermal straightening process done, and Mandy was great. She was so helpful, and offered great advice. The staff worked well together, everyone was so positive and friendly and courteous. The prices were completely reasonable. I will be back !! You can really trust this salon. more

This salon has a wealth of expertise. I had a non-formyldahide blowout at this salon and I swear theirs is better than any other brand out there! This is an excellent blowout service and makes your hair feel much better than any other straightening blowout I've had! The consultation was complete and I felt completely comfortable doing this service over my last Brazillian Blowout (which I was dissatisfied with). Connie did my service, but the other designers in the salon are also very friendly an all seem well qualified with loads of experience. Well run salon with great atmosphere. I highly recommend! By the way had a cut right afterward and the cut was awesome as well! Added later, by the way the receptionist is wonderful and friendly?!? Don't know what the previous person was talking about. I actually walked into this salon without an appointment. I was fortunate enough to be able to get my hair cut AND colored in the afternoon. (I had to come back for an opening that one of the designers had). The staff was very friendly and I truly wanted something DIFFERENT. I had no idea what I wanted to get done, but did have some old color to match if they could. Not only did Many match my color, but she added some lovely highlights, that I had not had suggested before, and I love them! I also had my hair cut changed ...wanted something a bit more 'today' and a bit more 'sassier'. Well, I am THRILLED THRILLED THRILLED with my new look! Great job! Great salon, know their stuff. I love this salon. It is one of the rare salons where you don't have to put on an attitude to get great hair! The designers are varying, there are some that are more edgy with hair, some more conservative which I think is a great attribute. I have been to almost all of the stylists over the past year and a half that I've been living in the area. I knew this salon was the right one for me the moment I first walked in the door. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and well versed. Some I know love color better than others, some LOVE to do haircuts, I have not had a bad experience yet. The stylists DO take the time to communicate, and listen to what it is you are asking for, and they even ask each other when it comes to opinions if needed. I have always felt comfortable with this salon and continue to do so. I recommend this salon to anyone, especially when someone asks me where I get my hair done!! Thank you Studio K! more

I have been coming to this salon for over 5 years. There is stability with designers, with the owner, they know how to create excellent cuts and styles, there is something reassuring about coming here KNOWING full well you will get customer satisfaction, as well as a great cut and excellent color. On occasion I have attempted to 'try' another place just to 'see' what they'd do and never have I felt as well taken care of as I do at Studio K, and I am always satisfied. The prices are great, the designers are all very well versed and it is friendly! EXCELLENT salon with a great reputation and outstanding long-time record of excellence. more

I went to Mandy after a botched haircut and horrible color that turned my hair yellow. I didn't even want to go out in public. Mandy very carefully matched up my real, normal color and in just a little while, I left feeling like me again. It was just wonderful. Two weeks later, it still is wonderful---the small amount of fading (which she told me to expect) has improved the color. Definitely a good experience and a great stylist. more

Sarah had been coloring and styling my daughter's hair for quite a while. She also had cut my stepdaughters hair last year when she was visiting from NJ. A fantastic short cut. I was going to another salon getting blond highlights . I decided enough was enough and that I wanted to change to a darker shade and different style. My first appointment with Sarah was 10/31/09. She gave me all the time I needed to discuss options. We worked through different colors and she was honest with me regarding what I could expect. The Salon that day - it was Halloween - complete with everyone in costumes - made me feel so relaxed and in very good hands. They were all so engaging . Sarah worked her magic and not only did I love the color and cut, but everyone commented how great I looked! I have been back recently and once again was extremely satisfied. If you are looking for someone new - give Studio K a call and ask for Sarah. You will not be disappointed. MANDY was wonderful. I'm turning 30 and never colored my hair before. Wanted something fun and different with cut and color - but didn't know what. Never experienced "lift" levels or picking out colors, etc. Mandy was very patient and put together a plan for me once she gathered what it was that I wanted. This salon is always busy! I have been coming now for over 8 years, and never have I had to worry about the end result of my hair. I have a very unusual red tone that I love to have in my hair,get compliments ALL THE TIME and people ask me when ever I go out where I get my color and cut done. I am thrilled with this salon and I always feel like I have been well taken care of. Great staff, great people, excellent work ! What I like best about this salon is it is not fake. Some salons and their atmospheres create an uneasiness with me. I feel I am either in a place I need to run from the chair before the person pulls out the scissors out of fear, and some I feel like I am being TOLD what is going to happen to my hair rather than paying for a service. I really appreciate the ladies at this salon consult, talk back and forth with me, and then cut when we are totally settled. Same with color. I am very comfortable here, with great friendly atmosphere, excellent and experienced stylists, and true customer satisfaction in mind. This salon is how I personally believe most salons SHOULD be. So this salon is worth my drive to Durham area. I heard about this salon and wanted to see for myself. I happened to have a appointment with Mandy. I really didn't know who to ask for. The receptionist told me they were all wonderful hair stylists. I agree! This place is BUSY! Wow....and Mandy not only takes plenty of time to talk to me, to consult, to understand my hair, she had awesome suggestions for something new! I am sold. Great salon.
