STUDIO 162 Frequent customer 2/6/2013

I have gone to Studio 162 for sometime but I am looking for a new salon in Vancouver or Portland with a stylist who is exceptional at color and cut for around the same price. I am fed up with this salon for the most part, I have a stylist who cuts my hair very well which is why it has been hard to leave but i don't care anymore. She has showed up late to appointments more than once- one time she was 20 minutes late, the receptionists or the stylists have horrible customer service, it is hard to know which it is because I always ask for the stylist to call me back and they never do. I was told I could drop in for a free bang cut or color touch with toner and they said I had to book an appointment which was not what she told me. I even had a cut and color booked the last time and I noticed she was drying my hair fast and I inquired about where my cut was and she said oh well it wasn't on my schedule sorry I have to do the next customer- luckily she got me in with someone else- but how rude. For this price I expect a better level of customer service, if they feel they are so popular and don't need anymore customers, I just helped them out. more

Not Bad, But Not What I Expected For The Price 10/29/2005

I was hoping to have a really fabulous salon experience, and in that respect, Studio 162 was disappointing. It wasn't a bad haircut, but it wasn't what I expected for the price. The salon is clean and well-maintained; the reception staff was polite and helpful. I had one of the top stylists in the salon, and I paid for the privilege. But the cut wasn't measurably better than any other cut I had had recently--at a lower price. I wasn't impressed with her technique or with the end result. It was certainly serviceable, but not a great salon cut. They also pushed pretty hard on the product sales, which never impresses me. Overall, not a bad experience, but it easily could have been a lot better. more

Nice cut, expensive 10/14/2005

This salon is very clean, trendy, and a higher end salon. The staff was very friendly, and I was able to get an appointment right away. The gal who cut my hair did a great job, it is a very precise cut, not something just anyone could do properly. Most of the stylists are young, but this is anything but a Supercuts. However the prices are a bit high at $40 for a haircut! more

Okay Haircut 9/8/2005

While in transition looking for a new stylist after mine moved to California, I thought I would give Studio 162 a try. If the stylist has a great cut I will give them a try. She did, and I thought it would be great. It was a terrible haircut! I cried when I got home. It was uneven, and just looked terrible. I will never return. I'm thankful now I won't need to because I've found the perfect salon elsewhere. more

Talk about a gossip mill... 7/13/2005

I went here once while my stylist was briefly employed at Studio 162. While the decor is nice--very modern, lots of black and chrome--the environment is not warm at all. While I was getting my hair done, I heard more gossip than I've been privy to since high school. The stylists made no attempt to keep their very private conversation to themselves and it was unnerving hearing about total strangers' relationship problems. It's got to be Vancouver's biggest rumor mill. I was pretty turned off, and so was my stylist, who has since relocated. Studio 162's saving grace is its huge stock of beauty supplies. They're one of the only places in town to carry Bumble & Bumble products, of which they have an outstanding variety. I still go here to pick up hair supplies, but I'm always sure to make a quick exit, lest I become the topic of conversation. more
