I saw Dr Bassman for a few months and am pretty disappointed. I don't feel that I made much progress, and I never really connected with him. I never got anything useful out of the sessions - which for the time I invested and the fees I paid I would certainly expect. I'm seeing a different counselor now and it is so much better. more

Renewed Vows 11/7/2011

He helped not only me but our entire family. MY husband and I are communicating again and my kids seem happier. We are looking forward to a Thanksgiving with much to be thankful for. more

Saved my life 3/28/2011

Dr. Bassman saved my life. He is an amazing clinician and demonstrated much needed empathy to me, I felt I could share my life with him. I didn't feel judged for my past experiences or present issues that I shared with him and he ""walked"" next to me in my journey of accomplishing my therapeutic goals. He helped me so that when I exited his office I felt more confident, empowered and a great weight was off my shoulders. I would highly recommend Dr. Bassman to my close friends & family! Very Helpful 3/8/2010

Dr. Bassman helped me deal with my anxiety and depression issues in a way that left lasting positive impressions on my ability to interpret situations. He used Eastern teachings and meditation frequently, which I surprisingly enjoyed and found refreshing. I did not encounter any of the complaints listed by other reviewers. The location is not frightening. His staff really related to me and were very pleasant. I did not expect a time frame for him to ""cure"" me, nor I was demanding of his curing abilities. Don't think about it!!! 12/22/2009

Don't ever even think about seeing or speaking to this insane little man. Dr. Bassman should have all of his medical licenses revoked and be thrown in jail. There is never an end to treatment, EVER, and he will make you think you are crazy when you aren't. He will lie, cheat, and con you so you give him more and more money. His office is in the GHETTO of Cincinnati, so think about that! If he was a good Dr. he would take pride in his office, and this office is literally a joke. It is off McMillan in Clifton right next to UC. All of his staff is crazy too! Really, don't ever see this guy, he will do more harm than good. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Misled 11/2/2009

After an initial appointment, he said he thought I could benefit from therapy. After starting therapy, everything fell apart and I don't feel I have achieved a benefit at all. I haven't been back for a while now, and life is so much better. I'm glad that thing are better, but I feel misled and cheated about the time I spent in therapy there. If I could benefit from therapy (his words), why didn't I? Why did it get better after I stopped? Pros: N/A Cons: Misleading more

Look before you leap 12/2/2007

Ask about how long therapy will be, what the roadmap looks like, and what the cost will be. Ask about goal-setting and process. Be prepared for non-answers, evasion, hedging; there doesn't seem to ever be an end to therapy in that office. more
