Strong Museum 8/14/2007

The Strong Museum offers visitors a variety of choices. We visited the museum for a couple of hours to go to The Museum of Play. The children and the adults had a great time exploring and interacting with the exhibits. You will find food choice as well as a place to sit down and rest. Parking is on site and plentiful. There is a website to give hours and costs as well as museum exibit information. more

Great Museum for Kids 8/9/2007

The Strong Museum is a wonderful museum for children. There are several hands on exhibits for children. Margaret Strong's collection of dolls and antiques are on display for all to see. more

Wonderful Place 11/10/2005

Great place to go for fun and education. Many exhibits for kids are very fun; they even have a Pac-man station to play if youre really bored. The museum also strives for academics as it hosts the AP US History conference every year. Professors from colleges come in and teach students all about our nation and its history. more

Best place to bring the kids for the whole day 11/9/2005

I was so pleasently surprized at the size and quality of this place. My daughter had things to do from the time we walked into the door to the time we walked out. There are activities around EVERY corner (and under them, and over them!!) Kids can roll play, make crafts and imagine to thier heart's content. 100% worth the money and the drive from just north of Syracuse. We plan on going again soon. Great food too! Dont forget your camera, you'll regret it. PROS: Endless activities, great food CONS: none more

This is an awesome place for kids!!! 11/9/2005

This museum is top notch!!! There are so many things for kids young and ol alike to do!!! The mock grocery store is always a hit with all kids,! The victorian room is a blast as well, with the "old fashioned clothes and kitchen! The upstairs is tons of fun for older folks, as the "time lab" really brings back memories of barbies, gi joes, and lunch boxes that you don't hink about every day! The ticket price is reasonable, and the membership is even better! They always have a great 'special exhibit" and that is always a fun time! I would recommend it to anyone!!!!! more

fun for kids 11/8/2005

The Strong museum is a great place to bring kids. There are a lot of things there that are targeted at a younger audience and the kids love these things. There are lots of hands on things that children love to do there. The Strong Museum is currently being expanded on and soon its going to be better than ever. more

Great Museum for All Ages 11/4/2005

Mainly for the children but you will have fun too! The history of toys is explored as well as hands on activities and lots of interactive fun. Plan on spending the day and have lunch on the train car! Our favorite place is the "W Kids" area where the kids run their very own supermarket! more

Top 10 Museum 11/1/2005

The Strong Museum was rated one of the top 10 museums in the US by Parents magazine. It is a rating that is well-deserved. This is a magical family experience with special moments beginning from the moment you walk in the door. Not even a grown-up can resist a ride on the carousel! The ever-changing exhibits and the hands-on learning make for a fun day all around. The cost of a membership is worth every penny, if only to have access to the members-only events. Weekends can be packed and school holidays are a nightmare. The best days to go are weekdays. They have play classes for toddlers, birthday parties, special theme events (truck and bus day is a big hit in our family!) and a gift shop full of off-the-beaten-path treasures. The new addition will be amazing, complete with a butterfly conservatory! Margaret Woodbury Strong must be smiling down on her legacy! PROS: World Class Museum in Little Ole Rochester CONS: None! more

Chisldrens Museum 10/14/2005

This museum is as good as it gets for young children. It is a safe, educational atmosphere with loads of hands on oprortunity for children. It aslo has a great display upstairs where parents can see all the toys and novelties they grew up with. You can go back again and again and still do and see new things. more

Great Family Entertainment 8/11/2005

This is a great place for children of all ages. The first time I took my son there he was just learning to walk. we were in the baby talk area, which is an area closed off and safe for the little ones. He absolutely loved it. Now that he is bigger he enjoys all the other displays. evry time we go he has to ride on the merry go round and the train. The whole time he is there he just runs and runs. we have to make him stop to eat and drink. Besides the standard displays they have special displays every few months. They even have special events for the kids. more

Awesome 6/27/2005

My two children love this museum. It has its own grocery store so they can shop and scan their own items. There is a sandbox with plastic pellets that keeps them busy for hours!!!! PROS: AWESOME CONS: 30 minutes away :( more

If you're visiting Rochester, Strong Museum is a must. For the children there is a great children's museum complete with a mini supermarket. They have great visiting displays as well. For the adults, there is also ample displays. Lots of hand on. more

education fun 6/5/2005

my kids love this museum. They have no idea they are learning at the same time of playing. The museum has hands on attractions, crafts, a wonderful gift shop, a carousel and a food court. Its one of a kind in this city and I would reccommend it to anyone visiting the greater rochester area. more
