Steven Schloss and Gary Klein DDS

I have been going to Dr. Schloss and Dr. Klein’s office for the last few years and have had only positive experiences. It can be difficult to find a doctor/dentist after moving to a new city that you can trust and actually like. I have seen Dr. Pritz for routine cleanings and for a whitening treatment. He was both attentive and personable and did a great job with the whitening. The staff was also very friendly, and the office was clean – no complaints. I’ve been happy to recommend this dentist to all friends who are new to the city. more

I would highly recommend the dental office of Schloss and Klein. I have been going to this dental group for years and have been very happy with their services. I find the dentists and the staff to be very professional. I see Dr. Pritz and he is extremely thorough and caring. The dental hygienists are excellent. I don't write reviews often and the few that I have written aren't very pleasant. Hence, the following review of Dr. Pritz and the office of Schloss and Klein should be weighted heavier than the others on this page ;) Firstly, I do my research and learned that Dr. Pritz attended UMDNJ, a highly rated dental program known for its applied learning approach. Additionally, the office has a nice, clean and modern feel to it. The cleanings are thorough - not that I am a dentist but as compared to others these cleanings feel particularly so. Dr. Pritz is welcoming, amiable and appears very professional and thorough. I have suffered the unfortunate consequences of going to two dentists that I didn't know or feel confident in (two apecoectomies as a result of a bad cap - look it up) and am relieved that I am under the proper care moving forward. Plus they have a nice waiting room with a good selection of magazines. more

My family of 4 have been patients of both Dr. Schloss and Dr. Klein’s for years. All the dentists and the staff are very caring, friendly, supportive and professional. My daughters started seeing both doctors as soon as they were old enough to have dental checkups. They eased the fears of 1st time child visits and explained everything that was going on in detail as it happened. My 5 year old daughter announced the other day when we were going for an appointment on a day off from school that “she loves going to see Dr. Gary and Dr. Steve”. They’ve been available to answer off-hour phone calls when our older daughter fell into a table and hit her tooth. They’ve made an adult that has a fear of the dentist no longer dread going to the dentist.\r \r They take the time to answer all questions and are fully focused on you when you are in the chair. They obviously love what they do and it shows. We highly recommend both Dr. Schloss and Dr. Klein. more

Dr. Pritz was so gentile and understanding. I am extremely afraid of going to the dentist and this office, Dr. Pritz and his assistant Jackie made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. I recommend them for anything! more

I love going to the dentist, and this, by far, has been the worst experience of my life. Talk about being stingy with the anesthetic! On top of that, he was rude to the staff that was TRYING TO HELP ME be more comfortable! I mean, how can you ""whisper"" she'll be fine, when it was evident that I was literally crying in the chair. And this was a routine cavity fill. And it was pretty ironic that for a dentist, his breath reeked like he hadn't flossed in at least a decade. more

saw dr klein several times. Had seen previous dentist at their office who put put in temporary bridge but was no longer working for them I had financial issues. Accepted insurance but despite fact would receive $2500 from insurance, Dr Klein insisted on $1000 up front from me. When I said I didn't have it, he said come back when I did. Temp broke. He fixed it. Broke again. This time he refused to make any kind of arrangement for me to pay monthly on that advance $1000. Not only that, he said he wouldn't work on the temporary bridge to make sure there was no infection because ""It might break and I don't feel like making another one"". He left me with an infection altho he did give antibiotics. He was SOOO Nasty, arrogant. Is this professional? Now, I caled and said I have cancer and they refused to see me. I am not making this up. Ask around you will find out how arogant Dr Klein is. But this is unethical if not malpractice. There are many, many, many other dentists who do good work who would never send a patient out like that! more

I have been with Dr. Schloss for the whole 10 years i've lived in nyc. he was recommended by somebody at my office and i then moved offices twice but stayed with him. the whole office is efficient and great and friendly, and i tried the other dentists once or twice (one of them did my root canal) but Dr. Schloss is great. Not only is he friendly etc., he does really quality work - i did like 3 or 4 crowns, and a few fillings, and they always come out perfect. He never tried to rush me into anything - he always says 'let's watch this one here' and normally will not just attack anything that may never develop into a problem. I highly recommend him. more
