Thank You Stepping Stone 6!!!!!! 7/19/2011

I wanted to say on behalf of our family how fortunate we are for our children to enjoy the Stepping Stone 6 experience. Our 8 year old daughter and almost 6 year old son have been enrolled in Stepping Stone since the day we returned to work. Knowing the most important gifts in our lives are watched with so much care is a true blessing.\r \r The Director Miss Lindsey has an amazing passion for her job, taking the time to personally meet with all parents on a consistent basis, to incorporate their input in the direction of their children more

Ready for Kindergarten 5/4/2011

If you are looking for a pre-school that truly will prepare your child for Kindergarten there is none better than Stepping Stone VI! Ms. Alisa Middleton is my daughter’s teacher and I cannot say enough about what a great teacher she is. My daughter can count to 100, knows all of her letters and the sounds they make – she is reading! Alisa runs her class room with authority; she demands respect for herself and the other children in her care. Alisa loves each child and it shows in their affection and respect for her. I work in the child abuse field and do not trust just anyone to care for my children – I would (and do) recommend Alisa Middleton and Stepping Stone VI to anyone looking for a pre-k! more

Fantastic School Worry Free 4/7/2011

I had to find a new school within a week for my 2yr old daughter and was a wreck trying to figure out how I was going to get this done. I had heard great things about stepping stone and when I went to visti the hymedow location I was greeted by Miss Lyndsey she was amazing she welcomed me and my daughter with open arms. My daughter has now been going for a little over a year and loves it. Not only does she love it by I love it too.. She has the best teacher Miss Taylor she is always there to help me in the morning as I drop my duaghter off. When I leave I know that my daughter is the BEST care and do not have to worry at all! which is a wonderful feeling for a parent! Not only is my daughter in great care but she is also excelling to her full potential. Great school with wonderful programs and wonderufl Teachers who love what they do!! more

AWESOME school!!!!! 1/19/2011

When I moved back to Austin from Houston, I had the pleasure of having ONE day to find child care... I called all over the area and Stepping Stone was the most professional, nice, answered all of my questions on the phone, DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME TOUR, and the best price in the area.\r \r We have been going since June and my two boys LOVE it there! Yes they are a school and yes they ""take care of kids"" all day and/or after school"", but more than that- they make each and every child feel LOVED. They talk about making good choices with the kids versus yelling ! I LOVE THAT!!\r \r The teachers my boys have had are amazing! They come home telling me what they learned that day- awesome!!!! The director, Lindsey, and assistant director, Alicia, are always super helpful, patient, and make you feel like you are a member of a family- not just a tuition check each month (or semi-monthly if you prefer). \r \r I also LOVE the tuition-express... I don't have to search and search for the darn check book, they draft it semi-monthly and I have YET to have a problem!\r \r I LOVE STEPPING STONE 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Irene Good is all Good ! 12/8/2010

Mrs Irene Good was one of the best teachers we had at Stepping Stone. She is very caring and full of great ideas and energy in everything she does with her kids. We miss you Irene! more

Good school, great 3-year old teacher 11/15/2010

I moved my children to this school from SS4 when my oldest started kindergarten because they have after-school care for school-age children. The school is very nice, and many of the teachers are wonderful. I have had a couple of minor issues, but the director has been receptive to my comments, and it appears that she takes care of issues that parents take to her. \r \r The three-year-old teacher, Ms. Taylor is amazing. She clearly really cares about her students and making sure the parents are aware of what is happening in the class. My child has really thrived in her class. When he started, he had no interest in learning, and now, just a few months later, he is writing his name, and is so much more curious about learning. I'm thrilled with the progress he has made, and I know that Ms. Taylor has been a huge factor in his development. more

Love Ms Laura and Ms Ora! 11/10/2010

The teachers are so sweet and are like family in the way that they know the kids. They are also very understanding of busy working families. They do their best to be supportive to the family and the child. When I pick up and drop off I see happy smiling babies. Very seldom is the room fussy. My son loves going and I trust that he's getting good care from good teachers that are also good mommies too. more

Stepping Stones Hymeadow is great! 11/10/2010

My two sons age two and four have been at Stepping Stones at Hymeadow for two years. The teachers and staff at this school have been wonderful with our children. Both of our boys are excited to go to school and come home telling us about the fun engaging activities they do at school. Braden's teacher Ms. Taylor has been wonderful in helping Braden learn social skills as well as pre literacy, pre math and other pre kindergarten readiness skills. She takes the time each week to email the parents to let them know the theme of the week and to communicate any necessary information. In the past if we have had behavior concerns, she has made accommodations and made extra effort to reinforce positive behavior to Braden - sending home letters and certificates showing what a good job he is doing in class. Ms Bhavna who assists Ms Taylor is very patient and does a great job with the children. My two year old son Brody absolutely loves his teacher Ms. Camille. When he goes to school he lights up when he sees her and often talks about her at home. She is extremely caring and nurturing and it is evident that she cares about him. Ms. Jessie who helps Ms Camille is always very calm and nurturing as well. I always feel 100% confident leaving my children at Stepping Stones. Ms. Lindsay the director and Ms Alicia the assistant director both do a great job of communicating to the parents and assuring that if there are ever any concerns that they are addressed immediately. The early morning staff Ms. Diana who the boys stay with until their teachers come in is wonderful as well! As an early childhood teacher myself, I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a caring, nurturing school with pre k readiness curriculum. more

Great Teachers, Great Care 11/10/2010

I have been very pleased with the teacher retention, caring of my children, and the learning. My 2 year old loves her teacher and the attention she receives from her teacher, Ms. Camille. Ms. Camille provides the love, the learning and the firmness when needed. So far my 2 year old plays well with others and really enjoys being at Stepping Stone. My 1 year old has an additional teacher Ms. Courtney, which every time I walk in my 1 year old is smiling and I also get a morning status from her other teach Ms. Ora. For me it is a family type of enviroment. I have been with Stepping Stone for almost 3 years with my 3 children. Every teacher I have encountered has been with Stepping Stone since I have been there, which is wonderful. Thank you Stepping Stone. more

Great Staff, Great Care 11/9/2010

I am very pleased with the level of care, education/teaching and attention both my daughters receive at Stepping Stone. My 3 year old is learning at an incredible rate and adores her teacher, Ms. Camille. The interaction both children get with the other kids is great too. I feel like my girls are being taken care of the way I take care of them. When I leave after dropping them off, I am confident in the caregivers looking after them. I trust these ladies with the most precious people in my life. The only time I have cause for concern is when they have the periods of staff turnover. But those concerns are quickly put to rest once the turnover periods ends as there are still consistently qualified caring individuals taking care of my girls. more

Wonderful Care 11/4/2010

I am very happy with the level of care my daughter receives at Stepping Stone. She has been with them since she was 6 months old, and at this location since she was 1 and a half. I'm constantly amazed at the level of curriculum and socialization she is exposed to. Just lat night she said ""Mom, did you know that A is a Vowel?"" - at 3 years old - I am so proud of her verbal development and how her curiosity is nurtured. That of course is largely due to the amazing teachers. Ms. Taylor and Ms. Angela are so engaging. Ms. Taylor takes time out of her busy schedule to keep us posted on what the kiddos are studying each week, upcoming events, and how they are doing individually. As a full time worker and student - I highly value this extensive communication - it makes me feel very involved in my daughter's education. more

I cannot express how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this daycare!!! 9/30/2010

I enrolled my daughter in this daycare when she was about 1.5 years old. I had toured numerous daycares and what really drew me to this center was the staff, especially Lindsey (the director), Alicia (asst. director), Jesse (teacher in my daughter's room) and Camille (another teacher that helps with my daughter's age group). These women are absolutely AMAZING!!! \r \r They were so welcoming and treated us like family from the first day. They are very personable and EXCELLENT with children. Lindsey and Alicia are both very active in helping the teachers when needed and extremely loving towards the children. You can see that they, as well as the teachers, all genuinely love the children in their center and treat them all as if they would treat their own. \r \r The center is always clean and never smells like a dirty diaper, which is very nice. My daughter absolutely LOVES going to daycare and LOVES all of these ladies! If she's ever a little clingy to me in the mornings, she will go to any of these ladies, without hesitation and be happy. She is always in a good mood when I pick her up and blows kisses goodbye to her teacher.\r \r It means the world to me to have such confidence in the people that are spending so much time with my daughter. I couldn't be happier with this daycare and wish I could relay in words how much these ladies mean to me. They are truly amazing, for the patience they have with our children and the endless love and nuturing that they offer to each and every child. more

Just like home 10/5/2009

I have had my daughter enrolled at this center for several months and I could not be happier with my decision to enroll her here. The Director and Teachers are always friendly and willing to help with any questions I may have. She is always happy when I pick her up and never wants to leave! The facility is clean, organized, and is run very well. Thank y Pros: Friendly and welcoming Cons: Parking sometimes more

Great school for our daughter 7/30/2009

Our daughter began daycare about five months ago at SSS VI and we could not be happier with the program. She bucks like a bronco when she sees her teachers each day (this is a good thing) and she comes home happy each day. The teachers are also a great resource when it comes to asking for advice. We need a lot of it because we are new parents and they are very patient with us. They do a lot of great artwork and we could not be happier with how entertained she seems. Knowing our daughter is being well taken care of is so valuable; it makes going back to work so much easier. Pros: dedicated teachers, well-run program more

Best All-Around School for Kids 7/29/2009

We have both of our kids at this Stepping Stone. We went to several schools before selecting this one on Hymeadow and have found this to be the best all-around as far as reasonably priced, nurturing teachers, huge, shaded play areas outside, lots of creative activities, singing, sign language, learning. My kids are 14 months and 26 months old and it never ceases to amaze me how much they learn at school (they sign & count and sing and say please and thank you and learn new words :)). They LOVE their teachers, talk about their school friends and enjoy their time. It makes it easier for me to leave them to go to work knowing that they are so happy there. Pros: caring, nurturing teachers, snacks & lunch, many activities Cons: teacher turnover more

Great Preschool Environment 12/28/2008

My daughter started at stepping stone vi when she was 11 months old. She is now 3 and a half and loves her teachers and all of the staff. There has been some turnover in the time period since she started, but I feel that they have the best staff in place right now. When there is a change or issue, it is communicated very well to the parents which is really important. It is hard being away from my daughter, but I am comforted by the fact that she is in a nurturing family type environment where I truly believe everyone cares about her well being and development. I have recommended this school/location to friends and neighbors and will continue to do so. I have watched my daughter grow and develop socially and intellectually in this environment and appreciate the level of care she receives. Pros: Environment, Curriculum, Staff, Service more

So happy that we are part of SSS VI FAMILY!!! 12/23/2008

When we moved back to Austin first, I visited another Stepping Stone School (the one at Parmer) which I hated. At that location, director did not greet us. They acted as if they were the best and needed no additional kids. I am so happy that that day, they told us they had no openings and we could take our daughter to the one at Hymeadow until the one at Parmer had an opening. My daughter was 11 months old then and started going to SSS VI. They have the best staff I have ever seen. My daughters name is a unique name and it is not easy to remember. It amazed me a lot to see that even the care givers of the other classes learned her name in couple months and they were greeting her with her name everytime they saw her. My daughter loves her teacher. I think her teacher is one of the best teachers. Director is a really nice and proffessional person. Director assistant is really friendly. I am so happy that my daughter is going to that daycare because I can see that in her mind that place is like a home to her. Couple weeks ago we went to south for a week for vacation, and when we came back, my daughter was talking about her teacher, her firends and director assistant. She was telling me how much she missed them. I am especially so happy with the cirriculum they have. She is doing so many art works. They have so many activities and it is getting difficult for me to keep her entertained during week-ends. I know during the day they are doing so many things that it gets boring for her not to do any arts or sing a song during the week-ends. I feel so lucky to meet all the staff that works at SSS VI and am so happy that they are like a family. For me, as a working mom, knowing that my kid is secure, happy and is being taken good care of are the most important thing. An at SSS IV, I know she gets all of them. I suggest to all the parents looking for a daycare to make a visit to that place. You guys will know what I mean as soon as you go in. :) Pros: Weekly newsletter provided by the teachers telling what they will do coming week and all the highlights of the week more

Like Family 12/23/2008

When I was pregnant with my daughter, my husband and I toured many child care facilities, including several Stepping Stone locations. We instantly fell in love with this location. The Director at the time made the decision very easy. We feel how the Director acts reflects on the school as a whole. The school had a turn over and a new Director joined us this year. We love her even more than the first. \r \r My daughter is 3.5 years old now. She started here when she was 12 weeks. From the beginning we felt like family with the staff. I trust the teachers and the admin. The casual atmosphere is one that promotes communication between staff and parents. When raising a young child who attends daycare, communication is the most important. As a mom I need to know how she is developing and reacting to the environments around her. My daughter loves the school and gets very excited to go to pre-k and see her friends. The best part is several of her classmates began around the same time she did. This is nice because she has friends that she knows and it speaks highly for the school as it shows other parents are as impressed with the school as we are. \r \r I recommend Stepping Stone school to any parent. I highly recommend this location.\r more

Stepping Stone VI Hymeadow Campus has been great for our family.... 12/23/2008

Both of our children attend Stepping Stone VI, and we are very satisfied with the school. They are very attentive and caring toward both of our children, and seem to be in tune with the needs and personalities of all the children who attend. Their preschool preparedness curriculum is excellent. Their training program and protocol for the teachers is very organized and constantly reviewed and improved. Our experience with Stepping Stone VI has been only positive. We highly recommend the school to other friends and family members with children. more

A great place for our children 7/6/2008

We've had our children at two Stepping Stone Schools and I have to say it's a great place. We did countless tours of other facilities around Austin, I can honestly say we made the right choice. I can tell how connected our kids are to the teachers by the way the tell us about their day. I like feeling a connection with teachers, as well. It's a friendly vibe, when I got to pick up the kids. I get a daily chart telling me what their day was like. When I've had issues, I discussed them with the Director and I felt I was part of the solution rather than the problem. The assistant director has also been very helpful with our kids. more
