Love this place! We came in around 9pm and were seated promptly - and the menu is perfectly expansive. Enough vegetarian options to choose from, as well as great salads...and of ...

Super Stellar 7/13/2006

I sat down in this fun, funky joint one afternoon after work - plum tuckerd out and waiting for my husband to meet me here. I saw PBR and decided to order one - but wait! Olive Oyl, my waitress, suggested that for the same price I could try a microbrew because they were on special tonight. Yay! I sensed a friendly, you-can-be-one-of-us-even-if-you-are-wearing-business- slacks-and-don't-have-any-tatoos kind of feel - which I appreciated. And, the pie was delectable. People were having fun and relaxed - and even though we were both starving, we couldn't finish our pizza because it was so huge and packed with topping goodness. Nice! more

The Pizza that Time Forgot 5/5/2006

Upon entering this place, I feel like I've entered the time when the people of the 1950's first started dropping acid. It's like "Laverne and Shirley"http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074016/ probably knew people who go here. It's pretty close to the old brewery in Georgetown, definitely one of the parts of town where spirits of yester-year wander the streets that they wandered in life. Georgetown is a pretty grimy place too, popular among bikers and hip people with the bed-head look; Stellar's is also pretty close to the freeway. So when they wander in, looking like they haven't bathed for days after working in the factories, it gives the place a feel of having some sort of blue collar integrity, further compounded by their cheap-beer specials. The food is pretty good too, and though the place has all of the aforementioned added bonuses, it would still be a decent place without them, just because of the food. more

stellar pizza & cheap beer 12/15/2005

There is a reason why they named this pizza joint Stellar Pizza. The crust is excellent -- good thickness, good flavor, good crispiness. They have a pretty good selection of fresh toppings which they do not skimp on (especially the cheese) and you can choose between marinara, olive oil or pesto sauce. Pizzas come in one size but you can order a full or a half. They also have calzones (haven't tried these yet), salads and sandwiches. They have cheap beer and root beer on tap. The atmosphere is a bit funky & old diner-ish and its location in Georgetown makes it out-of-the-way, but I'd say it's worth a try. more

beer and pizza!!?? You bet!! 9/21/2005

This is my favorite after-work meet up. They have great beer specials. After you have had a couple pitchers, and you're looking for some food, you cannot go wrong with any of their pizza offerings. MMMMMMM. Piiiiiiiizza. The staff is always cool, even when you come in with 20 of your co-workers. more

Confessions of an East Coast Pizza Snob Part II 9/20/2005

Maybe i'm getting kinder as I get older, or maybe I'm being won over by atmosphere and people, or maybe my pizza memory is fading, but since the former two are enjoyable and the latter is impossible, i'm gonna say that I've just found some good pizza places out here after all. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right places before...like under the West Seattle Bridge...which is where Stellar's Pizza is. Apparentely Stellar's used to be known as StellA's and that's what everyone in the know calls it. I didn't know, but it wouldn't have helped my 20 minute search any as I slowly circled in on the area. The key to finding Stellar's is simply knowing exactly where it is (Airport Road under the bridge) and getting good directions online. But the hunt is half the fun, right? Am I right?? Once inside Stellar's, the indie waiters and waitresses are extremely personable and helpful and the whole place has an intimate feeling while still being spacious enough to fit a table of eight confortably. Plus they have a great Jukebox waiting for your money. But who cares, right? We're here for pizza! While obviously not the only item on the list, pizza is the only item i've seen ordered besides beer, which is also pitchered out plentifully. The pizza itself is thick with loads of cheese, but does not come off tasting like fast food pizza (i.e. Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's.) They have a million toppings and pre-constructed ideas, so just try something new each time and find out what you like. Each visit will be worth it, and while it's a little pricier than Zeek's, a group of friends takes the edge off. more

Fun pizza joint 7/7/2005

The funky pie house in Georgetown serves great pizza. I have always been pleased with their main dish: pizza. My favorite is their white pizza. Pabst fans will be happy to know it is served on tap at this joint. If you don't feel like pizza, their calzones are huge and YUMMY, with lots of different stuffings to choose from. The biggest beef is that the pies are kinda pricey ($20) considering the over-all ambiance of this joint. There is talk about the declining quality and increasingly clichy feel to this joint, but I still enjoy myself everytime I go here! more

Great Pizza joint with style 9/6/2004

This is a really fun pizza joint in Georgetown -- near the airport. It's got a pool table, some pinball and an overall 1960's/ 1970's feel. It's hip. And the pizza is very good to boot. Worth going to on a date. more
