You pile on, get on the side for the best viewing of the Statue of Liberty, you ""sail"" away, floating across the historic Upper Bay of New York Harbor, and the gulls fly along, and then there's Lady Liberty, and the tall, tall buildings of lower Manhattan, and you reach Staten Island and race back around to get on the ferry, and slide back, trying to determine what's Governor's Island and what's Brooklyn, and imagining Henry Hudson in this very spot, heading north towards the river that would one day bear his name, and the shores are covered in trees, trees, trees, as the canoes of the friendly natives paddle out in greeting.
