Worst company I have ever dealt with 6/30/2013

The worst experience I have ever had with any company. They cancelled my move today without telling me. I was pretty panicked, since it's the last day of the month. When I asked what I could do, the lady in the Seattle regional office asked if I had internet access so I could look up another moving company in the area. Not cool. I escalated the problem to their regional director, some fellow called Eric in California. Eric, bless his heart, spared no effort... in telling me that I was shit out of luck. When I asked this 'director' what I could do, he suggested I use the Yellow Pages to find another moving company. The worst part? My parents came from overseas this weekend to see their son move into his first condo. So here I am sitting on boxes of my stuff in my old apartment, my joy turned to ashes by Starving Students and their terrible employees. Would not recommend to my worst enemy, would give a negative star value if possible. more

Worst experience ever! 3/24/2012

Move was scheduled at 1pm saturday. Manager called Friday afternoon at 2:20pm to reschedule it to 11am. Entire family got up at 6am to finish packing. Nobody showed up at 11am. Wait for an hour. Tried to get through the service line but got shouted at by manager in duty. At 12:30pm. They called and told me they will not be able to come until 3pm. In fact they 3pm is the earliest they can be here. Apparently still waiting will never use them again and will tell all my friends the same thing. more

Two fellows showed up promptly at 8:45 AM. Both were polite and professional and worked quickly and efficiently to get our stuff moved carefully. But better than that, it was Thursday when my husband and I decided we were not going to move our stuff ourselves on Saturday. I didn't think anyone would be able to take us. I asked friends for recommendations. I got three for Starving Students, nothing else. That made it easy. I called and was able to set something up for 2 days later. If I ever have to move again (*fingers crossed that doesn't happen*), Starving Students will be my only choice. more

Friendly and efficient movers 7/25/2011

The movers were friendly and efficient, and moved a one bedroom apartment full of furniture in 2.5 hours. I packed all of the boxes, so the time was just for actual moving. I handled the lighter boxes myself and used Starving Students to move the extra heavy stuff and big furniture. All items arrived in the new house without any damage or breakage.The total price was a little lower since I moved on a Sunday, as suggested by the phone operator when I called to make the reservation. Overall, it was a good experience for my small move. I wouldn't hesitate to use Starving Students again, it was money well spent. more

Everyone was very professional and courteous. From the initial phone call, to the confirmation, to the movers who showed up on my moving day, this was a wonderful experience. This was my first time using professional movers and it was definitely a positive one. I would highly recommend Starving Students to anyone looking for reasonably priced and experienced movers. more

They take the worry out of moving! 6/17/2011

I could not believe the care and concern of our movers Eric and Marion. They treated our personal items as if they were their own. They wrapped the mattress and couch in heavy plastic to avoid dirt and as a nurse I really appreciated that. Also considering they were being paid on an hourly basis you might worry that they would "move slowly" but this crew really worked at a fast pace which we appreciated. It took all of the worry and frustration out of our move! more

The three movers worked exceptionally fast and were very helpful,pleasant and efficient. Everything arrived unbroken. The actual move took longer than expected because of the distance to the weighing station. more

one thing that impressed me was that they were problem-solvers and not just muscle men. we had an unusual situation with a large sofa and they didn't flinch at "lowering it over the second story balcony" when it wouldn't fit down the stairs. more

Both gentlemen were very friendly and professional. All of my items were treated with the utmost of care and concern. I really can't say enough good things about them. They are extremely hard workers. We moved across town and everything was a HUGE success. I would recommend them to all of my friends and co-workers. The one item that stood out to me and my family the most is both movers had a wonderful attitude. Moving is never an easy thing, but with MY movers we laughed and had a great time. They were the best. more
