I recently found a beautiful old vintage typerwriter at a garage sale for only $5. With that said, I looked online and it was worth over $150. I thought it would be worth me getting cleaned up and a new ribbon put in. I found this place as its the only near by and took it in. They told me to get it serviced, which is basically lubing it up, it would be $139 plus tax!!!! Are you serious? That's almost more than what the typewriter's worth. I'm not an expert in this field, but I think thats a little steep to ask for something so simple. I regretfully agreed because I just wanted a good working machine, but now I have a hole in my wallet.
Pros: that they still fix typewriters, its hard to find repairmen.
Cons: if you want to fork over more than $100 just to lube it up.
