St James Luggage

I wanted to purchase small duffle bag for my wife at this store. The salesperson was pushy, rude and ignorant. I knew exactly what my wife wanted as she purchased a similar item and pattern at another store in Boston. I did not get what I wanted. When I got home I asked my wife where she purchased the first duffle bag and she informed me that it was at one of the shops at the Prudential Center in Boston. I decided to inquire there and was told that the shop had been closed and St. James Luggage is owned by the same people. Never purchase anything at this store. Their merchandise is not kept neatly due to the clutter and extremely small space. Big money for poor quality. Horrible. more

I have always had an excellent shopping experience at St James Luggage. The staff is very very professional and friendly! They really know luggage and leather goods.They special ordered an item for me, and monogrammed it as well! When I returned an item within the 30 days, the owner was very courteous. I was happy to learn that in addition to their fine selection of luggage and leather goods in all prices ranges, they carry lots of terrific gifts and games. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE EVER!!!! I had a horrible experience at this store. They lie, and are not reputable. I bought a duffle bag for a trip, which had no tag on it to begin with. The return policy is to return a bag in 30 days with a receipt. The salesman who sold me the bag told me I would have no problem returning it, if I thought the bag was too big. I decided the bag was too big and wanted to return it. When I brought the bag back, the owner was there and said he wouldn't take it back because it had no tags on it and some fuzz on it. I told him it had fuzz on it when I bought it, and that it never had tags. He said it was essentially used, and there was no way I could get my money back. A woman was in the store at the time, claiming she was a customer, and said that from a customer stand point, she wouldn't want to buy the bag back the way I was presenting it to them. In actuality, I later found out the "customer" was the owner's wife and was lying!!!! I then cleaned the bag off with a lint brush, and when I brought it back later to the salesman who had originally sold it to me, he said he couldn't take it back because the owner had called him at home and told him not to take it back under any circumstances. So....this place stole my money, and then lied to me (ie the owner's wife) to my face. What a great store! Pros: Short lines--because no one shops there!
