I just was discharged from St. Claire yesterday. I had been there for a month and five days. Was in there because i had some blood clots make there way to my lungs. Which is very very very painful. So i was given morphine and dilaudid to control the pain 90mg of the morphine per day and 36mg of dilaudid per day. They started to wean me down before they discharged me. They had the morphine down to 15mg daily and no change with the dilaudid. They sent me home with ibuprofen for my pain nothing else. I still have a fair amount of pain in one of my lungs. I have filed a formal complaint with the hospital to try and get it resolved and was told it will take seven to ten days to get a response to it. \r \r The nursing staff i'd say one out of every three nurses i had could have cared less if i was in pain or couldn't breath. The call button is a f*cking joke multiple times i waited more than a hour and half before anybody bothered to check and see if i was ok. There was one nurse i never caught her name but i swear she came in and did what she could to hurt me and cause me more pain during her exam. What a nightmare that place is. And like one of the other posters i also got a fungal infection while i was in there. They didn't find it in any of the blood cultures or test. I woke up with a 106.3 degree fever. That was very scary really messed up my head for a day. So i had to have another picc line put in. \r \r Well the only good thing i could say about St Claire is i didn't die. But thats about it. I will never go there and if you can make it to one of the other hospitals in the area go else where. more

DO NOT GO TO ST. CLAIRE HOSPITAL/LAKEWOOD 12/31/2010

i went to St. Claire Hospital in Lakewood, Wa. and will not ever go back there again. I was supposed to be in the computer due to having surgery. My daughter arrived and found I was not in the computer and went looking for me to no avail, and they had to go physically and find me. I was given pain medication after surgery that caused me to stop breathing, and the care was not the greatest. Had to wait a long time after ringing the call button for anyone to show up. Then I came down with a bacterial infection. I also, noticed bruising on my right shoulder (looked like figure prints after surgery and my left shoulder was really hurting as well). Small hospital with big problems! No one even called me to clear up the problems. WHAT A HOSPITAL!! more

BEWARE OF ST. CLARE SOSPITAL!!! 9/16/2010

MY MOTHER WAS ADMITTED DO TO A RUPTURED COLIN, SO THEY HAD HER ON TONS OF LIQUID IV, AND IT CAUSED HER TO HAVE SEVERE DIARRHEA. AND SHE COULDN'T WALK SO THE UN-FRIENDLY NURSE PUT THE PORTA POTTY UNDER HER. BUT IT WASN'T ALL THE WAY UNDER HER AND SHE HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THE NURSE WOULDN'T CLEAN MY MOTHER OFF OR EVEN CHANGE HER BEDDING. SHE HAD TO LAY THAT WAY OVER NIGHT UNTIL MY STEP FATHER COULD GET THERE TO GIVE HER A SPONGE BATH AND CHANGE HER BEDDING....AND THE MACHINE THAT ADMINISTERS THE PAIN MEDICATION, IT HAS THE BUTTON THE ""TIE OR ATTACH"" TO THE BED. WELL THEY DIDN'T DO THAT EITHER, SO MY MOTHER GOES TO GET THE BUTTON BECAUSE SHE IS STARTING TO HURT VERY BAD AND SHE CANT PUSH IT BECAUSE ITS ON THE FLOOR!!!AND THE BUTTON TO CALL THE NURSE WAS ON THE FLOOR. SO SHE LAYED THERE WAITING FOR THE NURSES TO DO THEIR ROUNDS!!! OVER AN HOUR PASSES.... WHAT IF SHE REALLY NEEDED THEM? AND BY THE WAY, IN 2000 MY GRANDMOTHER CAME TO THIS HOSPITAL VERY SICK, BUT SOMETHING THAT COULD BE TREATED. WELL WHILE THE NURSE WAS PUTTING THE FEEDING TUBE INTO HER STOMACH SHE ACTUALLY RAMMED IT INTO HER LUNG AND SHE DIED!!!!!! SO IF YOU LOVE YOURSELF OR YOUR LOVED ONE, DO NOT STAY AT ST. CLARE HOSPITAL IN LAKEWOOD, WASHINGTON.... more
