Springfield Beer Dist

Due to Pennsylvania Blue Laws, beer is only available as a bar takeout at high prices or by the case (24-pack) from a beer distributor. Springfield is located right next to I-76 at the South Street exit around 27th Street for those in town. It carries almost most common beers you would want by the case and has a very good selection of Mid-Atlantic region beers like Dogfish Head. It has reasonable prices and it delivers so it's also a good option for your next party. Great beer distributor with a wide variety of beer to choose from. Whether you're looking for a case of local brew or something imported Springfield is the place to check out. Their stock ranges from domestic beers (bud, miller, pabst, etc) to local brews (such as flying fish, victory and yards) to belgium beer (chimay). Overall, their selection is great and their prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a look. more

If you are coming from West Philly to Center City, Springfield is *the* obligatory beer pit stop. The beer selection is amazing. They have a truly extensive selection of European beers; you can get your fix of Belgian trapper ales and the such. Prices are fair. Note: it is not heated in the wintertime, so dress accordingly, if you plan to browse. more

PA is one of those states where regulations mean that you can only buy beer either in take-out form from bars (6-packs) or by the caseload from distributors. Presumably, this is meant to curb alcohol consumption, but really I think all it does is force people to drink beer by the case! Regardless, if loading up on beer is your objective, Springfield Beer Distributors is the choice if you live around West Philly / Center City Philadelphia. Located by the south street bridge, springfield is an old warehouse literally stacked full of cases of beer. They have all national brands, most imports, and many boutique / microbrew brands as well. Especially good for getting microbrews from the mid-atlantic region. They also deliver, so they are good if you need beer for an event or party. more
