Editorial review from Citysearch 8/10/2012

Spring Valley Stable prides itself on their friendly and capable staff. They have great quiet school horses for English riding lessons as well as a summer day camp.\r The rings are beautiful and well maintained with plenty of jumps for many levels of riding students. This is a business that is owner/operated to insure quality instruction and top notch service. Stop in for a tour, you will not be disappointed !! more

Not very friendly 7/19/2009

I had just moved to the area and wanted to continue riding. We called the stable about a week in advance about camps and they gave us a list of dates and times to come to check out the stable. We went down on a day they told us to and we were shocked. First there was a lesson going on so we talked to the father of the girl. He said he loved the stable and the whole family comes here. We felt satisfied. Then we had to go and talk 2 the instructure who gave us a different view. She was just a very rude. She was yelling when we just wanted to know what camps they had. As we walked back to the car we dicided to never come back. We went back to visit our family for the summer and went riding and i was amazed at how nice everyone was compared to spring valley stables. I have to start looking again for more stables. Pros: very nice stable Cons: very rude more

Poor Customer Service 6/26/2008

Although I have never actually gone out to this stable - the rude customer service I recieved on the phone compelled me to ""look no further"". New to the area...I had a simple question about the services provided by this stable that was met with short - rude answers and quite a nasty tone...as if I had interrupted someone's very important day with such ""nonsense"". I had simply inquired about western riding lessons and felt based on her tone that the question was a waste of her time. She made up my mind right there and then that this was not an establishment I would want bring my child to. I hate to have my daughter met with that kind of tone and rudenss. It's too bad - had she been more informative or welcoming I would have come on out and most likely spent OODLES of money at this establishment -for my daughters interests are not limited to western. Lesson learned to this stable - customer service is of the utmost importance for your business - with one nasty phone call you have lost lots of money for your stable and left a very bad impression. You know what they say....one bad impression will leave to hundreds of bad reivews shared. Think about it...you are not the only game in town. more

Equestrian/English/Hunter/Jumper: Gentle School Horses, Knowledgeable & Professional Staff 7/25/2006

The people at Spring Valley are very nice and welcoming. The barn provides several school horses that ease the beginner into the wonderful world of equestrian sport. The owner is a professional horsewoman who hails from a family of respected and accomplished horsemen. The staff works well with students, finding their strengths and playing off of them. From learning how to groom & tack-up a horse, mounting, walking, trotting, and cantering, you progress steadily from knowing nothing to actually riding. Before you know it, your jumping!!!!!!! If you are starting out and are serious, their lessons provide a very solid foundation in whatever genre of riding you eventually focus on. THey also offer a summer Day Camp for younger people.\r \r The facilities include a large, well-maintained outside ring with jumps and exercise obstacles for all levels of rider. There is also an indoor arena for those cold or rainy days and an observation room with a wonderful stone fireplace for those who want to watch in warmth. The indoor arena is immaculately kept, which made riding there pleasurable. The owner is a stickler for a well-maintained and organized barn.\r \r If your a professional rider, then you have found a barn of competitive winners! Although I have not yet advanced to the level of the other riders, I have seen the ribbons that they consistently bring back from Virginia, Florida, Chicago, and other top notch competitions. My suggestion for the professional would be to stop by, take a look, and make your own judgement.\r \r If your lucky enough to get a space to board your horse, this is a great place. I've seen first hand how the stalls are kept, horses are fed, and how the staff interacts with the horses. The place has two spacious barns, and several lush meadows and fields where the horses are turned-out. The popularity of the place seems to be evident with the number of horses there.\r \r They also sell quality horses that fit every level of rider. Pros: Fit, gentle, as well as some challenging school horses. Barn immaculate. Close to Pittsburgh. Cons: Not enough time in the day for riding!!!!!!!!!! more
