Pleasant Enough 1/29/2007

Had a couple of glasses of wine at the bar during a not very crowded Monday happy hour. Nice atmosphere, friendly people who all know each other. I have to say the bartender was indifferent from sloshing my second glass of wine into the glass before the first was finished to never saying a word otherwise. Eager to return and hear the jazz and blues the other reviewer wrote about. Had a cup of creamy chicken noodle soup which was good for the soul on a cold winter day. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Some smokers, server indifferent more

Best burger anywhere 10/23/2006

If you can get past the dim lighting and smoke, this is by far one of the coolest places in town. Any burger can be served on sourdough and they do a great medium-rare! Check out the upstairs on Wednesday nights for great live jazz and blues music with some underground stellar players. more

Best neighborhood bar in Nashville 3/28/2006

If you're looking for a fine dining experience, try somewhere nearby (it's in Hillsboro Village, afterall). If you're looking for a great sports bar that happens to have great food and a fun crowd, then you've found the right place. I don't know what table service is like as I always order from the bar. The bartenders are superb -- friendly, efficient and on-the-ball. Top food choices: barbecue on cornbread, chicken quesadilla (order it blackened and get an extra beer), chicken biscuits. One thing you should not do is order fries. They're routinely limp. Not that they have a lot of alternative vegetables. If you must have fries, though, order them ""extra crispy"" -- code to the kitchen to actually cook them. The regulars are a friendly sort, so pull up a chair and make a friend. They might even tell you how to find the pool room upstairs. Pros: Bartenders, Food, Regulars Cons: Fries, Smoking, Bluegrass Band more

Bad Apples and Good Apples 2/16/2006

I was reading one of the other reveiws and one person was taking about a bad server, I would have to agree there are a couple there, but they also have great servers and bartenders. I have been a regular there for quite some time and these incredibly servers always remember me and greet me with a warm hello, I get treated like a celebrate there. One Sever drew me a map to the Tpac and gave me great tips to Dowtown areas. This is what makes a great server! My advice try it again! Ask for a different server next time. Pros: smiling faces, good comfort food Cons: parking more

Miserable, terrible and pathetic 12/19/2005

Having heard about this place, I was eager to try it. I must say, that I have never been treated so poorly. Out of 3 servers, not one was polite or nice. Rude, hateful and miserable was more the expericene. I ordered the grilled salmon salad and the only thing that was any good was the dressing! I think the rudeness of the staff overshadowed everything. I wouldnt return to this establishment if someone paid me to or held me hostage! Pros: Nothing Cons: Servers, Food, Atomosphere more

A+ all around 7/19/2003

What can I say? The food is excellent, the beer was cold, the service was outstanding, and the price was incredible! I was there on a Saturday night with a very large group, and the overall experience couldn't have been better! I know how hard it can be to deal with a large group on a busy night, but these guys (and gals) did one heluva job. Pros: A+ service, inexpensive, great atmosphere more

Unbelievable 3/6/2003

This was absolutely the best of the best. The service, food, and atmosphere were all great. The waiter made sure that our beers never got close to empty. Make sure you come with a healthy appetite. The portions are huge, and extremely tasty. The menu has an array of items to suit anyone. This was our first time dining here and a new favorite. The only negative was the lack of parking. Pros: portions, service, 2for1 happy hour Cons: parking more

Pub atmosphere and good food 1/23/2003

If you are looking for the general burgers and fries, chicken tenders, or salads - this is one of Nashville's best places to go (for the southern version of ""American Food""). The food is a step up from large chains like Ruby Tuesday's and Shoney's. The lunch crowd attracts large numbers of doctors and nurses from Vanderbilt hospital, but for the most part the restaurant attracts businessmen/ women and their clients. Pros: Fast service, Business/Pro crowd more

worth a return visit 12/10/2002

Tried it again after another Titans game and found the catfish almost as good as the burger. The cajun cornbread wasn't as spicy as expected but the server brought out some jalapenos to make up for it. The only negative was the server clearing plates before we were finished eating off of them! Pros: menu selection, value, food quality Cons: clearing food more
