Just Do It! 1/14/2011

I LOVE YOU STEVE more

get butt in shape! 1/26/2010

I just joined a month ago, and this place is addictive. Note: I am somewhat of a fitness junkie. I hit up yoga here twice a week, and I have found the quietest time of the day to do my personal workout in peace (not telling you what time THAT is). This is the place to be, if you're serious about working out and serious about paying the monthly. more

Fake reviews 10/15/2009

This place is the worse gym that I have ever been too. And they have their people put up fake reviews to boost their declining image. The reviews on Google were really bad like 2 stars and they had that all taken down. This place over charges people and the people who work there are really rude. I suspect that they are related to the GM or owner. Five minutes after I quit, they started to call me. The calls went on for 2 weeks. The I started to get mail from them. In this economy, this place will be a Wall Mart in months. Save your money. Cons: expensive more

Health/Fitness Club Done Right!! 9/16/2009

Ever feel like the health clubs in LA are a dime a dozen?? well, Sports Club LA and BH make you feel like you've joined a private gym that has the best amenities. not only is the equipment always the latest and greatest, but the support staff is amazing! the spa and food is pretty fantastic as well.... Sports Club LA is the way a gym should be! Pros: Top notch facility and trainers more

So much more than a GYM! 9/11/2009

The SCLA on Sepulveda has everything--top notch workout facility; professional trainers; beautiful spa; pool; basketball; racket sports; sundeck; great food--you really can't compare to any other fitness facility in the city.... and the people who work there are so nice from the valet parking attendants, housekeeping staff all the way to the management! It's just the best..worth every $$$ Pros: FABULOUS OASIS more

Top Notch! 9/10/2009

The Sports Club LA has everything you could ask for- more classes than you could dream of, private training, pilates, yoga- extremely clean work-out areas and locker rooms. There is also an amazing spa, salon, great restaurant and cafe. The spinning classes are amazing and the personal trainers are great. Whether you like to work out on your own, in a class or with a trainer you are sure to get a top notch work out here- everything is state of the art... more

Rude,Unprofessional, Un-attractive Staff 8/2/2009

The staff is a bunch of lonely people looking for some kind of break, They seem desperate, like please help me, I need a life. Well help your-self by not being sooooo rude!!!!! Over-priced, Desperate people, who needs to go back to school, or the army. Pros: the sun deck Cons: the classes are really bad more

Really disappointing 7/24/2009

I was a friend of a member and I thought the place was really cool. But soon after things got ugly. They treated my friend like S#&*@! And that's not cool! This place is over charging it's members and they know it. And the service here is bad for the price. Why don't they serve bottled water or towels? That's the only way that I would give this place 5 stars! Pros: Big Pool Cons: The Staff more

Worth the Committment 7/22/2009

I have to say that since I signed up with Sports Club, I have never worked out so hard, the classes are interesting and the staff here is always helpful. I absolutely love the yoga classes, especially Erika, she is an inspiring teacher. Pros: Close to home/classy place more

Not worth the money 7/20/2009

This place is over priced gym and the workout classes are the same as any other gym. This place is not fancy nor does it have friendly staff. The only people who gave this place good reviews are the ones who did not pay for the monthly dues. I see alot of reviews by guest and first time gym members. Pros: Big gym Cons: the Staff more

fun group ex! 7/16/2009

There are TONS of group exercise classes to choose from. When I tried the gym out for a week I went to their definitions class & basic indo-row, both I hadn't heard of before... They did not dissapoint. The instructors were nice & both had me sore the next day. I would also reccomend the Saturday morning Step class, the instructor Paul is hilarious (catches me up on the week's hollywood gossip & movie reviews) and offers variations to match any fitness level. Overall its the perfect place to bring your girlfriends for a group work out. Pros: lots of classes, fun instructors Cons: overwhelming.../intimidating more

Horrible Gym 7/9/2009

The staff do not communicate with the trainers and schdules for training times get conflicted. Cons: Bad customer service more

So far so good. 6/30/2009

i'm a newer member to the club and thus far have no complaints. I go there to get my workout in and go. I haven't used all the facilities yet, but soon will and update my review if anthing changes. more

The Sports Club in West LA is a joke! 6/20/2009

Why they call themselves a 5 star health club is a wonder. The customer service is bad for the price they are charging per month. It's more of a self serve gym. And do not bother complaining to the GM-Ray..he'll just yell at you to leave the gym. Useless man! That's no way to talk to paying customers at $175 a month. Cons: Ray the GM, the staff more

The worst gym 6/11/2009

My husband and I decided that we needed to join an up scale gym and this was close by. We were terribly disappointed with the rude staff and membership personnel. We do not mind the high prices, but do not ever complain about anything....they just tell you not to join and leave. Cons: the staff more

Overpriced 5/13/2009

This gym is supposed to be the best and most luxurious. So far that's far from it. The price per month is double most gyms and the customer service is non-existent. I am terribly dissappointed. Pros: Large number of equipment / Some Trainers Cons: Overpriced/ bad customer service more

crazy, crazy review 6/17/2008

i've worked out there a couple times. it's nice-does what it's supposed to do-serves as a place where you can go and work out. in fact, it is a pretty cool place to do so. but here's where it get's weird. the other reveiwers are getting a little too angry about their reviews. it's just a health club guys, calm down. it seems really simple to me...if you don't like working out there-go somewhere else. it looks like you might have anger managemnet issues. next you can search for a therapist. good luck. more

Thumbs down 4/9/2008

We are hysterically laughing. The review directly below this one reads like a plant by Sports Club LA. As if it were copied and pasted from a brochure. Love how it insults other reviewers, too. That's always a red flag, i.e ""I don't know what these complainers are talking about, etc etc."" Hilarious. more

Five star service comes at a price 4/7/2008

The Sports Club LA is the premiere fitness center in Los Angeles. The facility is simply amazing. They take great care of the place and it shows. Yes, it is a bit pricey (they just increased the dues again this year), but you get what you pay for. Staff is always attentive and courteous. The food offered at the restaurant and cafe is healthy and delicious. Most importantly, the fitness equipment is well-maintained and many units are always available. Sure, you can save some money going to a Ballys, but be prepared to wait hours for an available treadmill. There is an olympic size pool, a full basketball court with leagues available, racquetball courts, and even an open air paddle tennis court on the roof. The best part of the pool is they use some advanced filtration system instead of chlorine, so your eyes don't burn and you don't smell like pool the rest of the day. They even have attendants walking around the cardio machines offering ice water for free from their trays. They also offer numerous group exercise classes which run throughout the day. I have no idea what the below reviewers are complaining about. Ray is absolutely professional, and he took care of my concerns immediately. And are you seriously complaining because you don't spot celebrities when you work out. What are you there for? Go to the Beverly Hills location for that, not the Sepulveda one. Pros: Excellent and attentive staff. Nicely maintained equipent and facility. Cons: Costly, but if you can afford it, you need to check it out. more

Poor reviews are true 4/7/2008

This club is all hype. First of all, this is not the celebrity mecca the club makes itself out to be. Pros: Hours are ok, except it closes kind of early on weekends Cons: Wrongly hyped as celebrity mecca, ovepriced, discourteous sales department more
