The Spirit House has an excellent assortment of liquors as well as wines. The prices at the Spirit House are a bit high compared to the other liquor stores that are in town. The service is good if you need help but, not all of the people who work there are very knowledgeable when it comes to wines. more

slightly removed from Amherst's campus, this is like any college town liquor store. There's enough beer (selection and quantity) to keep everyone happy on a weekend night, and even a college kid could find wine to have a romantic dinner with a date, but I wouldn't rely on the staff to help you pick out a drink to serve with a particular meal when you're having company. more

good beer slection 8/13/2005

They have an extensive selection of beer, and are decent for liquors, but their wines are just so-so. I prefer to get my wine at Whole Foods. Otherwise, I like that they have promos on Friday evenings where you can get free stuff from promo people. Under-agers be careful, cops hang out here a lot. more

Easy Place to Find A Good Selection 8/10/2005

A well stocked liquor store. The Spirit Haus carries a decent variety of all your standard liquors. Like most college town liquor stores, they carry large amounts of beer, in many varieties. Their wine selection is decent for most people, but a true wine connoisseur won't find much to tempt their palette. I have not been impressed by the staffs knowledge, nor by their prices which seem high. more
