After having spent over $2000 for a new refrigerator, I am thoroughly disgusted by the poor treatment we have received at the Mesa store. We were promised an early after noon delivery but the installer showed us on his 3:30-5:30 delivery time--and he finally showed up at 8;00 pm. We waited all day and part of the night. The front door was taken off the hinger and the 3 refrigerator/freezer doors were also taken off to get this unit into our kitchen.
It was not installed properly, the water line for the ice maker wasn't tightened so we had water leaking down the side of the refrigerator and the valve to let water into the ice maker wasn't properly opened, so very little water was flowing into the unit (it has reverse threads--shouldn't the installer have tested for that?)
The ice maker didn't work, was replaced and now the second one is not functioning. A new refrigerator door had to be ordered because the original one wasn't aligned properly with the other door. When you need service, you get either a service rep from the installation company if there was a problem with the installation process or a service rep from a hired firm if there are issues not relating to the installation. So we have to schedule 2 different repair people to fix this refrigerator.
The best thing our salesman did was show us the extended warranty, which we bought. If this Maytag refrigerator has as many problems down the road as it has had so far, we will need the extended warranty. We have never had a follow up call from our salesman about how the refrigerator is working and if the repairs were made satisfactorily. As soon as the sale is concluded and the commission is paid, you are history in their minds.
Buyer beware when going to Spencer's.
