some of the worst service in my life. I will never return and I would never suggest this place to my enemies! I waited for 31 day for my door to be replaced, not a framed straightening just a simple door replacement and painting . I could have deal with that, but every time my insurance company called to get an update there was no return call, and when I asked for an update, there was no information available. After two weeks of waiting for a return call the Insurance company stopped paying for my rental. For weeks we have been waiting on a timeline and I have been told eight different times on eight different days that ???we are working on it,??? but nothing ever happens. I even talked to a manager, Luis, but he only explained that we never give a timeline to the insurance companies, and blamed it on Enterprise. Every time I have been in the office, someone was complaining about something. Do This is the third time I have been to Spectrum Collision, and I don???t know what has changed, but I got yourself a favor and don???t go here, unless you don???t need you car back for several months. more

Spectrum Rocks! 8/31/2011

Spectrum Collision rocks, pure and simple! After my sister accidentally backed into my BMW 535i when it was parked in her driveway, I called my friends at Irvine BMW and they referred me to Spectrum. Chris is amazing. He checked in with me for updates regularly and when my car was ready 2 1/2 weeks later, it was better than new! They totally took care of me. They are authorized by BMW to work on BMW's so why wouldn't you go there? Morgan is a rock star too! She's the person every business owner wants to have on the front lines delivering excellent customer service! more

Great place for BMWs 6/12/2011

When a guy playing with his phone decided to drag the side of his Lexus across the corner of my near-mint condition 2009 BMW M3, I spent nearly 2 weeks searching for the best BMW repair shop in Southern California. Eventually BMWUSA, Bimmerfest, L4P, Yelp and a few other websites led me to Spectrum Collision in Irvine. Spectrum is one of only 3 BMW-certified repair shops in the entire Los Angeles area. Even though it was 50+ miles away from my home, the strength of its reviews and my initial meeting with Rob DeJong at Spectrum made me choose them. Rob DeJong (pronounced ?De-yung?) ended up being my Service Advisor throughout what ended up being a six week ordeal. The other guy?s insurance company, Farmer?s Insurance, quickly accepted liability, but they consistently tried to pay far less than the actual damage cost. Their estimates missed several parts that needed to be replaced, and tried to use refurbished parts rather than new ones. Rob DeJong fought on my behalf the entire way. He had to call them repeatedly and had to force them to visit Spectrum shop 3 or 4 times to revise their estimates. I visited their shop while the car was disassembled and was also given a tour of the facility. The quality of the work, the workspace and equipment is far beyond what I?ve seen at other body shops (I?ve seen quite a few). The work itself was great. All the parts are lined up properly, and the gaps are all even. They did warn me when I picked up my car that the paint would need to bake and that some minor bubbling may occur, and they actually plan a 90-day inspection and re-paint/touch up to take care of any issues. I do have a couple of minor bubbles, and I recently got some new un-related damage to one of my doors, so I will post an update once I take my car back to Spectrum in a week or two. Even though I?m very happy with the work, the efforts of Rob DeJong dealing with the insurance company are what set this experience apart from the rest. more

Spectacular Service! 5/5/2011

I recently had my 7 series repaired at Spectrum Collision. There was significant damage and the job was done in a reasonable amount of time (2.5 weeks) and executed with perfection. There is absolutely no trace of the damage. My car looks brand new. Rob DeJong was the project manager in charge of the work done on my car. This guy really knows his stuff. He discussed every detail with me at considerable length. He was very patient and accommodating at all times. You can tell that he really wants his costumers to be as informed as possible about everything. Also, I never had to call him because kept me updated regularly. Clearly, he loves what he does. Dan Gonzales, who is the guy in charge of your car?s appearance (making sure that it is clean and sparkling), was also amazing. He is equally personable and attentive. Spectrum Collision is like a high-end spa for your car, and insofar as it is stress-free and satisfying, for you too. This was my best experience with a body shop. more

If you own a Bimmer or a Porsche, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! 3/23/2009

If you love your vehicle as I do mine, Spectrum Collision is the place to go the next time it requires some T.L.C. Regardless of the nature of the visit (e.g., quick wash, reasonably priced detail or major paint & body repair), I am ALWAYS remembered by name, ALWAYS treated as a valued customer & my vehicle ALWAYS receives the care it needs. Chris, Dan & Tracey assist me regularly & surpass my expectations each time; however, the entire crew know what they are doing and work together as a team. The pride they take in doing a good job, the degree to which they strive for perfection & their ability to understand how important my car is to me is refreshing, unsurpassed in my opinion & just some of the many reasons I sincerely recommend Spectrum Collision Center. Pros: Incredible Customer Service*Attn. to Detail*Accuracy*Quality Cons: Can't think of any, seriously. more

My wife's immaculate BMW 530xi recently got keyed at Staples Center which was a real bummer. The only good part of it was the great experience we had with Spectrum Auto Collision in Irvine. Just before the damage to the car the BMW Club of Los Angeles had a meeting there where we all got a chance to see the fantastic work they do at Spectrum. The thing that came across was the passion and the incredibly high standards Spectrum had for their customers repair to their cars. Pros: Extremely professional with a real passion for first class repairs. more

A perfect 10 2/13/2009

8 years ago, my baby sustained bumper damage from being rear-ended. I called my local BMW dealer and was advised to go to Spectrum Collision Center. The insurance claim was handled smoothly and efficiently. My car was returned to me in a timely manner and in pristine condition. I was so impressed with the service provided by Luis Pineda, I filed away his business card in case I needed repair work again in the future. Many miles on the odometer later, my baby has become a project car and in desperate need of a makeover. Of course, there was no question who I was allowing to work on my car. This time I was greeted by Dan Gonzales at Spectrum Auto Spa. And once again, the committment to customer service was obvious from the start. Beginning with an accurate estimate of repair costs, courteous and prompt follow up, and ending in quality workmanship. My car was returned to me in such beautiful condition, I could hardly believe it! I am obliged to write this review because loving BMW owners in So Cal need to know that this is THE place to take your vehicle for collision repair and restoration. I especially recommend those of you who are bringing your older model BMW back to life to give Spectrum a call. You will not be disappointed. Pros: Quality Workmanship and Customer Service more

BEST collision repair I've ever experienced! 2/7/2009

I took my car in with some significant damage to the front end. The technicians at Spectrum thoroughly evaluated the scope of the damage and were careful to repair everything necessary without overdoing it. The final bill was less than the original bid and the car was completed earlier than promised. most importantly, the quality of their work was perfect. The car is showroom ready and the work they did is better than any other repair work I have ever had done on any of my other cars over the past 30 years! While I hope not to need their services again, I will not think twice if i need any other body and collision repairs in the future. thank you very much. Pros: time, cost, quality Cons: none! more

Great customer service Quality workmanship 8/2/2008

I had my 1990 BMW repainted by Spectrum Collision 8 years ago and it still looks like new. I took my car in last week for some minor scratches on the rear bumper. They gave me an estimate of $393.00 to repaint the bumper. When they got into the job they noticed the bumper was cracked and recommended that the bumper be replaced. Because they guaranty the quality of their work they wanted to do it right. I appreciated that were honest with me and they didn't want to do it half-assed. I gave them a few extra days and the repair was done on time and it looks like new. When I went to pay my bill it was $393.00. They want totally happy customers. I've had other work done at Spectrum Collision and the repairs were always done on time and at the price quoted. Their customer service is excellent and their body and paint technicians are BMW trained. It's as good as it gets. Pros: Quality work more

Quality repair through and through! 5/2/2008

This is a followup to the review made previously. At Spectrum Collision we strive to put the vehicle back to its pre-accident condition. This particular vehicle took a majority impact ""directly"" to the rear decklid. When a panel ""collapses"" like this, there is a chance that the panels adjacent to it will sustain some ""indirect"" damage. Once the new decklid was replaced, it became evident that there was movement to the rear body panel. Pros: BMW certified repairs back by the manufacturer more

I took my car for a minor repair on my trunk to specturm collision authorized bmw dealer. My car was bumped on the trunk when someone backed up into my parked car. It had a minor ding on my trunk. They told me they wanted to replace the trunk as insurance is paying for it. Upon serveral arguments I agreed on replacing it. They kept on delaying it making excuse and than finally after 2 and half week asked me to come pick up the car. Lucky for me, My husband had a day off and he went with me for the pick. They were handing over the car to me when my husband spot that they hadn't fix the trunk properly. There were gaps in the tunk alignment. TRYING TO RIP A LADY CUSTOMER! We refused to pick take the car and the next day GM manager called staying that they see the gaps and they agree with us that they repair was not done properly. IT WAS AN OVERSIGHT? the had changed the hinges and still not able to fix it the problem. On closer review they come back to us and state there is a FRAME DAMAGE ON THE CAR?????????? WHAT THE HACK?? a 5mph collision has a frame damage on 5 series???? ridculous.!! they said it must been from before. When i stated I bought the car from IRVIne BMW certified they changed the statement saying its done cause of this freaking accident! Mangers and working crew had different stories to tell. THEY WERE TRYING TO RIP A LADY CUSTOMER OFF!! DISCRIMINATING and not fixing the car in the first place! really!! they were trying to rip me off. CAN ANYONE EXPLIAN ME HOW CAN A 5 SERIES HAVE A FRAME DAMAGE with a DING ON THE TRUNK THE STICK us with a 10,000 bill ?for what a ding on the trunk? THe GM defened by saying that fame had been damage and while the techinician on the car denied still having looked at the car closely and deined that he can confirm if its a frame damage or not? thIS THE SERVICE YOU EXEPCT FOR A CERTIFIED BMW DEALER?? NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE!! SHAME ON specturm collision, they jsut want to rip customers off for money. Pros: $10,000 BILL and below par work Cons: INCOMPETENT WORK STAFF AND A RIP OFF SERVICE more

Do Not Take You Car There!!! BMW OWNED and DEALER OWNED rip off. 10/12/2007

I was recommended by Shelly BMW to go to Spectrum for my auto collision because they were a certified BMW repair facility, as it states in their catalog and practically everywhere in their facility. Well They promised me to have my car repaired in less than a month, but it took 3 months. They Promised that my car will look like it just purchased from the dealer, well it wasn't. My insurance says that because they are NOT a insurance approved facility, they cannot warranty the work. Well I think that says it all.I dont understand how these repair facilties, like Spectrum Collision owned by BMW and Shelly BMW can just rip off customers and make millions of dollars from insurance companies. I am very dissappointed in their service, craftmanship, and overall repairs. Cons: If you want your car not REPAIRED CORRECTLY, then I highly recommend them!! more

In all honesty! 9/9/2007

I totally disagree with the comments below, for the most part. In all honesty, yes - they do have an issue with returning phone calls. It can be a bit of a challenge getting through to someone when you're calling to check on the status of your vehicle. Pros: Flawless results! Comfortable waitng area! Cons: Getting staff on the phone or to return calls. more

Very bad experience and the vehicle is still not repaired. They now claim damage was there when brought in. Moreover, I now know what they charged insurance.. no wonder we all pay so much for insurance. RIP OFF. Keeping it short, we were misled about the time and quality of work and then blamed for some of the repairs they refused to complete (because, as I learned, they would have to outsource). They took a straighforward job and took 8 weeks and screwed it up, then another few days and screwed it up with near tragic results. The only reason I took there was because it was BMW recommended and approved and now I LEAR it is BMW owned. AVOID. Pros: BMW recommended and approved (also owned by BMW) Cons: Ripp off and untruthful more

Best repair facility! 2/23/2007

I recently got my 645Ci fixed at Spectrum Collision and I am extremely happy with the results. Not only was there great customer service but when I got my car back it looked BRAND NEW! With as much damage that was done to the car I didn't think there was any hope of my baby being back to perfect but it was! Yes the repairs took awhile but I understand that putting a car back together is a task but it was well worth the wait. more

Bad Experience 11/15/2005

I definitley agree with the man below. I had a small fender bender to the right side of my car, there would be no large accident repairs. You would think it would take a month and a week at most but NO, it took them two months to fix this small problem. They also falsly claimed every week that my car would be done at the end of the week, after the first month, then claiming they are still missing parts. Every week they called telling me my car is in progress and that it would be done at the end of the week, they were definitly wrong. I am a college student, and living an hour and a half walking distance was quite hard, especially when missing the public bus. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND spectrum collision center, you will never have your car back. Pros: quality of work Cons: Time it takes to fix more

After a minor accident, I was referred to this place by a local BMW dealership. Spectrum Collisions boasts of its specialty in BMWs and other luxury cars, so you'd ASSUME that they'd treat their service and customers with the same class. You assume wrong. It only took me 4 months, a lot of excuses, and a lot of grief later to see my car again. Even down to the very last day of their promised delivery, they still managed to be ""missing a part"" and blamed it on the dealership from which they ordered. After months of excuses, I sadly, became immune to them. I got tired of chasing down unreturned calls from my technicians and having them mislead me daily about when the repairs will be finished. Never in my life have I experienced such a horrendous experience from a service-oriented business. Never. Pros: Quality of work Cons: Took 4 months! FOUR!, Unprofessional staff, Bad customer service more
