Dining in Collins limits the culinary experience. There are less than five sit-down restraurants in the entire city. Speck's is the oldest. Old timers come in for coffee and home cooked breakfast as early as 5:30 am. Now they offer a lunch buffet which is less than stellar. Their homecooked cheeseburgers are good, just make sure to order the regular size as the large burgers are not homemade. The hamburger steaks are popular with the locals. They have a good selection of homemade pies. If you are not to hungry and just need a pick me up, stop by for coffee during any business hours and catch up on the local gossip.
