This place SUCKS! 4/26/2012

My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage, mani & pedi... Everything was fine until we met the 2 girls that were giving our massage. The spa was dark and our therapists had on dark sunglasses and one had on a crazy looking wig. My massage was mediocre at best, my boyfriend had a 6'5 gorilla bitching at him through half of the massage. She was saying things to him like, ""you need to workout or you are going to look like an old man"" and ""it only hurts because you never stretch."" He finally told her that he came for a massage and not to get bitched at for an hour. He asked his therapist to massage his feet and she actually got mad and threw a towel across the room. The experience was anything but relaxing... Next, we went in for our mani/pedi in what looked like the Bates Motel of abandoned office space. The 2 manicurist never greeted us, never spoke one word at all, acted as though they were put out by us being there. My manicurist had breath that smelled like a rotted corpse and she couldn't have been nastier. Other than bitching at someone on her cel phone, she never spoke... This was the WORST spa experience ever. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's an utter waste of time and money. We paid $400 for total misery. Thumbs down.. BOO! more

Hmm, not very good 1/1/2011

My first experience at Spa Sydell and I have to say I am not at all impressed. I've been to many a spa, including some of the best in Arizona, etc. I've been to a better spa in Chattanooga of all places. I will say my massage therapist was great, but the spa experience includes more then just the service. It's the ambiance, how you're treated by staff, the decor, the little things. Those things were frankly sub par. The waiting area was just a hallway. The changing area was horribly small and uncomfortable not to mention a maze of doors. The bathrooms were in poor condition and smelled. The products offered in their bathrooms were the cheapest things anyone could buy at a drugstore. If I can afford spa services, I most certainly wouldn't use those products. The robes were cheap and the flip flops cut into my feet. Yuck. Never again. Not even for that great massage. I will go elsewhere where I can get a real spa experience. more

Recently I went to this location for a massage appointment. The massage was absolutely amazing and I was so enjoying my time at the spa that I asked the front desk if it was possible for me to have a facial as well. They told me there would be a half hour wait so I enjoyed the steam room and then went back out to wait for my facial. I waited for about 15 minutes before the manager spotted me and asked what I was waiting for. She found my facialist and after another 5 minutes I was taken back. The facial was beyond rushed and she sent me down to check out long before the original hour had been up. The manager was at the check out and asked me how my services were. I told her they were only ""okay"" and expected her to remember me sitting in the waiting room for so long as well as being down so soon. She refused to agree that I had been shorted out of my time and when I gave her my hard evidence of the CLOCK her response was ""Maybe you enjoyed it so much that it just felt short"". Needless to say I did not appreciate being made to feel like an idiot. A spa day is not something I can do everyday and I look forward to my chances with a lot of excitement. The point of a spa is to be pampered, waiting, rude managers, and inconsistent services make me NEVER want to set foot in this place. I have found much better spas in the Atlanta area, they have absolutely lost me as a client. Pros: convenient location, able to book last minute appointment Cons: inconsistent, poor management more

Nice staff 1/19/2010

Great place to go and get pampered, but price is a little higher than other nice spas. I do like the environment there tho, as well as access to steam room before/after services. Pros: great massage therapists Cons: cost more

Great all round experience! 11/23/2009

I signed up for a massage at the Midtown location a couple of weeks ago. It was my first experience at this spa so I was unfamiliar with the process. I was very pleased with the service I received. A greeter was waiting for me when I got off the elevator, and was shown to my changing room. As soon as I came out a masseuse showed me the way. Everything was nicely presented to create a pleasant, relaxed mood, with the dim lighting, the candles, and the waterfall sounds. The massage itself was very professional and the masseuse was friendly and warm. Compared to other massages I've had here and in other countries around the world where I've travelled, I would definitely rate this one on the high quality side. Attention to detail was noticeable everywhere. I would recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't been here before. Pros: Fantastic total relax/massage session Cons: None really more

Great Place for a Spa Party 7/13/2009

On July 11, myself and 7 of my girlfriends had a spa party at this spa. Thanks to Susie Erath, it was a total success. She kept communication with myself and the other members of my party open. She returned emails and phone calls in a timely manner, which I really appreciate. It was an incredible experience. The staff was pleasant. The atmosphere was very relaxing and calming. After each of our treatments, we were treated to Spatinis, which are great, and able to relax and catch up with each other. Thanks Susie for helping me arrange this party. It was great and we will do this again. Pros: The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff was pleasant. more

Fabulous place for a Ladies Day event! 7/8/2009

I hosted an event for young elected women from around the country at the Midtown location. I worked with Susie Erath who was awesome. It was her idea to host the half day sessions there. I'm so glad I followed her advice. Everything was PHENOMINAL. I've visited many of the Spa Sydell locations but I must say Midtown is my favorite. The management team is accomodating. Working with Susie was worry free. She handled every detail with precision. All we had to do was walk in. She went beyond the call of duty to host my event and coordinated treatments for 15 women! My guests are STILL talking about it. It was perfect and I can't wait to find another reason to host an event at the Spa. You must have the spatinis. (non alcoholic) drink in a martini glass. Pros: Spatinis, amazing ambiance, and hot stone massage! Cons: room size more

Great location for a group event! 7/2/2009

We have been doing our annual client appreciation events at the Spa Sydell Midtown for six years. They have always been great! Our contact there, Susie Erath, is a pleasure to work with. As all event and meeting planners know: flexibility, friendliness and location are of the utmost importance and they have it all. We definitely recommend doing an event there. We will be back! Pros: Helpfull and flaxible staff, large enough for an event Cons: Nothing more

Stay Away From this HORRIBLE PLACE 5/1/2009

The staff starting with the managers are extremely rude instead of relaxing you feel more stressed out than when you arrive at the place. The restrooms are dirty especially the sauna, towels with holes and the showers have mildew. The rooms have dirty carpets with stickyness on it I was so scared to lay down on the therapist bed or table I was afraid i may catch a disease. PEOPLE GO TO NATURAL BODY IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SPA AND MOST OF ALL CLEAN. ALSO FOR WAXING GO TO BRAZILIAN WAX IN BUCKHEAD HALF THE PRICE OF SPA'S IN ATLANTA. Pros: NOTHING Cons: PLACE IF FILTHY AND STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE more
