Excelent service! I went there for manicure, pedicure and leg-and-bikini wax and I got probably the best service ever (and I have always been a frequent SPA-user!). In addition, the owners are super-friendly and they don't force you to buy their things. Their employees are also friendly, yet without being "curious" nor imposing a conversation. The setting is also very nice. This is now my SPA. Pros: excelent service, good value, friendly staff more

Hidden away in my own private room, highly skilled people, where some products are edible and where nurturing the soul is part of the process - I could not ask for a better experience. I have been to so many spas in NY to date and have not found this type of individual care and attention anywhere else. I simply loved my time and will return again and again. Just wonderful 11/15/2005

My first experience at Spa Ja was on a Friday night at the end of a very hectic work week and in advance of a weekend trade show. The oxygen facial accompanied by reflexology and hand massage left me in the most wonderfully peaceful place, feeling as pampered as a princess. The respectful and professional attitude of the staff added to my extremely positive experience. I went home that night, relaxed and glowing. Thanks you Spa Ja!! more

From the moment they walked in the door of Spa Ja, my daughter and her friends were in love! For her "Sweet Sixteen" party, she chose an afternoon at Spa Ja with her best friends--and they were in heaven. I have a stressful job so I frequent spas. Most NYC places tend to rush through the door so that the post-massage/facial experience is not comforting. The Staff at Spa Ja are fantastic. . . they are nurturing and talented. They welcomed me as if it was their home and they catered to my every interest. It was an experience unlike ANY I have had in the city. . . .I guess I have found my piece of solace in this concrete jungle! JA DROPPING!! 10/31/2005

In case my last review didn't post - this place is pure heaven. Honestly, the service, skill, and cleaniness was incredible. Best massage I ever had (it beat out the volcanic mud massage in Costa Rica!) Walking up the stairs feels like every worry just peels away. I found the atmosphere to be both elegant and friendly. The staff are genuine and expertly skilled at what they do. They treat you as if you were the only person there, you're not rushed, they take their time and make you feel comfortable and relaxed. You forget there's an outside world! Spa Ja Review 10/20/2005

My wife bought me a spa package for our anniversary. At first I thought it was a lousy gift (hoping for an Ipod), but when I showed up at Spa Ja for my appointment, I was glad I had decided to go. The staff was great, the massage was awesome and the environment was really cool. I never felt out of place as if I were an intruder at a beauty parlor. The staff made me feel right at home and, after a short while, VERY relaxed. Thanks guys. I know what to get my wife now. Pros: staff, services, environment Cons: Only one location more

I have been to many new york spas and the overall attention, ambience, energy and attention at spaja were at the top. I felt transported. The facial with foot massage [a little reflexology] was wonderful and the products felt amazing. This truly was an experience I might have been in Europe or Brazil, where these true professionals were from. I have already booked my next appointment for my mother and myself. I have been all over the worldhad massages in Japanese spas in Brazil and in elegant hotels all over the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia, hot baths in Turkey, facials, waxes and the works in some of the most highly rated resorts on 4 continentsand I have to say Spa Ja rates with the best. So much thought has been given to making every aspect of ones visit the ultimate in physicaland spiritualcomfort and relaxation. The facilities are superb, the ambience inviting, and the personnel extraordinary. I only wish I could visit every day. I hope they will expand worldwide. This spa is incredible. I have been to so many and this was the first to offer the full package. The staff was so welcoming and the environment was peaceful and relaxing. I had the best manicure ever - the manicurist was not rushed and paid attention to every detail. They have a retail section with some of the most amazing organic lotions, oils, soaps, etc. - I spent an hour just testing the products! They offer a full array of treatments and the technicians were so knowledgeable. I cannot wait to go back!!! This new spa is definitely worth a try - you will not be disappointed. Year Long Quest For Perfect Spa is Over!!! 10/10/2005

I've been everywhere........either the service is good, but the atmosphere is terrible or the pedicures are great but the facials break me out. I've been from the Upper West Side to downtown, but no more!!! Spa Ja has it all......great atmosphere, great personal servcie, highly skilled professionals, a product selection that actually had things I had never seen. Relaxing, fun, energizing and beautiful.......and no heavy sales pitches to buy a million treatments and products. And free homeade herbal iced tea! First you go through a delicate transition between two worlds: intense city life and a world where all your senses come to peace. You see, smell, hear, taste and feel the touch of purity. Interior arrangements fully capture your attention; it is hard not to see that every inch of the space has been touched by true human care not distorted by this civilization. You are greeted with hospitality, warm hand towel and a cup of tea. Your wallet has nothing to do with it. Every treatment you receive, whether it is a simple smile or a high tech procedure comes from human to human, not seller to buyer. Spa Ja combines the best of Brazilian, Japanese, and European beauty treatments. The bold red and black design is understated, not garish in the least. There is plenty of white to calm things down. In fact, "understated elegance" is what Spa Ja means to me. A manicure and pedicure may take 90 minutes, but that is because they take their time and do it right. The facial I received was incredible! She took 10 years off of my face. The tanning facilites are wonderful, very clean and modern. They have a machine designed to prevent burning. It's my favorite. Spa Ja is well worth the price. Highly qualified professionals, a warm friendly atmosphere, and dedication to excellence -- this is why I keep returing to Spa Ja.
