Great polish and massage 10/7/2007

I love Spa Envy. The Nail Technicians don't talk much, but they do great job. The polish stays 1-2 months on toes and 1-2 weeks on hands. Moreover, the prices are very reasonable and much less than the high end salons: $30 for Basic Pedicure $20 for Basic Manicure. They have Hot Stone Pedicure for 1 hour with the paraffin dip and the spa pedicure for 1 hour and 15 minutes with the paraffin dip. You'll experience the great and long massage. In addition ,they have more than 100 OPI colors for you to choose (new colors come every season) I love Tina and Amy :) more

Great Service 3/19/2007

I happened in on Spa Envy because I moved and was looking for a mani/pedi place close to my new home. As soon as I walked in I felt comfortable. The place is neat, clean and well kept. I like to relax when I am there, so no talking is just fine with me. I have been there several times and will continue to use their services. more

So not creepy. 1/2/2007

I have been waxed and polished here several times and never felt creepy at all; perhaps some of these one star reviewers don't get their nails done that often? It is not that unusual for the staff to concentrate on their work rather than jabber away at you. I would definitely rather not listen to someone else yapping when I'm relaxing, and can take my problems to a therapist, where they belong. During a wax the girls are much friendlier and more talkative (it's hard to relax when getting waxed and the talking is a nice distraction) and I have never received bad customer service here. Tip: They have great coupons in the University District coupon book! more

Pedicures sure have come a long way... 11/7/2006

I was at Spa Envy a couple of days ago with two of my best friends and we had a very good experience here. The gal that booked it had been here before but it was new for me. I LOVED the chairs that they now use for doing pedicures. We were all able to get massaged while we had our feet done and we all also had the stone massage treatment. The stones can be a bit hot but if you say something the women will make sure you are comfortable. For those other reviewers that disparage the staff for not being more friendly they should keep in mind that these women are also gauged on their skills of tidyness and for not hurting you - if you start distracting them from their work, particularly when they might have cuticle clippers in their hands, someone could get hurt. I prefer that they pay attention to the work at hand (or foot in this case) as it frees me up to have a great chat with my girlfriends which was the main reason we were there. I'll definitely go back - for the money it was great to get the feet done (they looked FAB!) and to get the massage on top of it! more

Watch Out 9/22/2006

I took a party of 8 women to Spa Envy for my wedding mani/pedi. It seemed great at first-- you can bring food and drinks, services are affordable. I was the one that dealt with all the arrangements, including the scheduling when we got there. To make a long story short, they messed up and I ended up with only a pedicure, no manicure-- while the rest of the women had both. They were unapologetic, and in fact claimed that it was my fault, that I said that I did not want both-- which I never would have said, as it was my wedding and I did all the communication for the group. They could not/would not find a way to make the situation right-- somehow it was impossible to give me a manicure right then, and they did not comp the pedicure. Everyone was left with a bad feeling. I will not be going back. They need to know that good customer service goes a long way. more

Creepy feeling 8/31/2006

Yesterday my best friend and I treated ourselves to a side by side pedicure at Spa Envy. I set up the appointment without ever having been there before and I was mortified at the weird feeling we both got while there. Both women working on our feet didn't speak a single word to us. Even after we made the first move by saying hi to them. As they worked away, they wouldn't make even minimal eye contact with us and they hed a look on their faces like they absolutely hated what they were doing and would rather be ANYWHERE else but there. One woman just looked at the floor the whole time and the other stared out the front window. We ended up feeling like we had just contributed to some sort of slave labor ring and the whole experience was...well, just really creepy. more

Great pedicure 3/23/2006

If you are looking for a good quality pedicure at a no-frills place for a reasonable price, Spa Envy is the place to go. I got a pedicure here for my birthday and it lasted a whole month! Convenient location, although parking sometimes isn't. more

Good quality, right price 1/4/2006

I've been going to spa envy off and on for the past year and think they are a solid choice for a nail salon. They offer multiple services including some simple massage but I recommend sticking to their core comptencies of manicures and pedicures. The spa pedicure is about 45 minutes and includes a leg massage as well as all the usual nail cleaning, buffing and polishing while sitting in the ever comfortable massage chair. It's $27 plus tip. They also offer an express pedi which is $22 but the extra $5 is worth it just to sit in the comfy chair and for the massage benefits. more

Two weeks later and not a chip! 7/28/2005

A girlfriend took me to Spa Envy for a pedicure, for my birthday in December and I have been hooked ever since. So hooked, in fact, I spilled the beans about this oasis tucked neatly behind the mayhem of the University Village to Kathy Schultz who listed the service in at article entitled "Spa pedicures for $35 or less." Read it here: http://www.nwsource.com/shopping/columns/kschultz/kathy_050505.html. I got a manicure two weeks ago and since then have been cooking, doing dishes, surfing, digging for sand crabs and wildly gesticulating and NOT A CHIP! more
