South Mountain 5/25/2004

Played it twice in '03. Course was in good shape. medium fast greens. Dining room staff was nice. Berr was cold. Pro shop staff average to below average. They are proud of this course $$$. I'll play it again in '04 to see if any improvements have been made. Pros: big greens, great views Cons: , pro shop staff more

Worth it or Not !!!!! 3/4/2003

I do not believe that the course as it is presently being operated warrants it lofty price per round. If the cours was in much better shape it would be worth it, but I found the condition of the course under its new ownership to be very bad. If they want to sustain this course they must make a commitment to better course condition from tee to green. I love the course layout and the scenery, but after my last visit there last summer I was very upset about the course conditions. Please make the commitment to providing an excellant course and experience and the cost wont be an issue. more

A view from the other side 2/18/2003

This course is a fun addition to the courses of the Salt Lake Valley. Never having a reason to come to the south end of the valley before, I no longer hesitate to take the drive to Draper knowing this great course awaits me. The course is well maintained (although many other SLC courses do even better), the holes are nicely varied, the layout is unique, and the 19th hole patio is a treat unto itself. The greenfees are perhaps a bit steep (yes, we're spoiled in Utah) and the staff a bit up themselves (they're also not very skilled in staggering play), but overall a great place to spend the day. I recommend it over the highly over-rated Thanksgiving Point which is nearby. Tip: Call ahead to make sure there is no tournament play. Pros: Varied holes, Views Cons: Staff, Pace of play more
