I was involved in an auto collision in 2008, which left me with pain and stiffness in my neck and upper back. I went to Dr. Oncken, because I have clients that have gone to him and they have always gotten great results. Sure enough, within a few months of beginning treatment, my symptoms improved and I was released from active care. Dr. Oncken is not your typical chiropractor. There are no gimmicks and no pressures. I have been many chiropractors before no body like Dr Josh Oncken. He is the best chiropractor I have never met. He has great personality and enthusiastic. I have chronic upper back pain. I am a 27 year old male that traded in athletics for a job behind a desk. I HAD very tight muscles, poor posture, and scar tissue and was on medication for Migraines. I was also on my way to carpal tunnel until I met with Dr. Oncken. I had never seen a chiropractor before, but Dr. Oncken quickly made me a believer. He spends time with me, knows my name, and has changed my day-to-day life in a HUGELY positive way. When I was younger I went to my dad's chiropractor to see what it was about. I was totally turned off by this guy and I swore off chiropractors all together. Last year I was seeing an accupuncturist who urged me to see her chiropractor, she praised him so much that I couldn't not see him. So, I started seeing Dr. Oncken about 4 or 5 months ago. It is difficult for me to say how much better I feel now, as I don't really remember how bad I was feeling! I do remember, though, filling out paper work explaining all of my aches and pains, and I can honestly say that the majority of those aces and pains are completely gone! Seeing Dr. Oncken has been a life changing experience for me that I will cherish forever. Not only is he an amazing chiropractor, which he is, he is also a wonderful person. Always eager to share his knowledge, and always eager get get a good laugh. The energy in the office is positive, relaxed, and fun with people laughing all around. I am moving out of town in a week and am feeling very sad to leave Dr. Oncken. I have loved the whole experience and will miss it badly. Pros: Best chiropractic care! more

I started going to Oncken Chiropractic a little while after they opened. At the time I suffered from severe low back pain and crippling headaches. Dr. Oncken relieved both of those ailments, all while counceling me on nutirition, supplements, wellness and all around health. I was already grateful for the amazing care I received, but never knew how grateful I would be until I was about 7 months pregnant with my first child. I began getting severe low back pain, and shooting pains down one of my legs. At one point I was actually afraid I was in back labor, the pain was so severe. I went to Dr. Oncken first thing the morning after the pain started, and after the first visit the pain was lessened substantially. I continued seeing him throughout the rest of my pregnancy. It was then that I learned how Chiropractic care can help a great deal with shorter labors and easier pregnancies all around. I would recommend Oncken Chiropractic to anyone, pregnant or not! He has made my life better through his extraordinary care. more

I was always skeptical of chiropractors, but after trying everything (medical doctors, physical therapy, pills) and not getting any better, I gave in and started going to Dr Oncken on the recommendation of a friend. I was experiencing extreme ear fullness, dizziness, neck pain, and extreme fatigue, and I'm happy to say that after treatment from Dr. Oncken for a few months, my symptoms are almost completely gone. Further, he recommended using a foam roller for knee pain I was experiencing (IT band friction) that had kept me from jogging for years. I went from being able to jog barely 1 mile with several days in between to 3+ miles for days in a row without knee pain. It's hard to think about how miserable I was a few months ago when I'm feeling this good now and continue to get better. I am no longer a skeptic and highly recommend Dr. Oncken. more

Forgotten what it's like to be pain free? Yeah, me too. Before my days at Dr. Oncken Chiropractic, for years, I was popping pills like candy. all the pills ever really did was take the edge off.. Not so awesome. I was going through my day to day thinking my pain was just another part of life. I know now it doesn't have to be this way. HALLELUJAH! The best part.. being pain free is pretty effortless and seeing my outstanding chiropractor Dr. Oncken is such a pleasure! Not only in Dr. Oncken a wonderfully extroverted and incurably optimistic people person, he knows and genuinely cares about each one of his patient individual stories and needs. This awesome chiropractor is more then qualified to get you on the road to pain free happiness. He also has a stellar background; Dr. Oncken has special training in: whiplash and brain traumatology, advanced sports injuries, structural rehabilitation of the spine and extremities and treatments that are specific for instabilities of the low back, pelvis, neck and shoulder areas. It is a pure joy being a part of this office. I really have enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the great people that are under Dr. Onckens care. The feel of the office is uplifting, lighthearted and positive. This awesome energy brought in and maintained by Dr. Oncken really attracts in good people. As soon as I arrive I feel so welcomed not only by the good Dr. but welcomed with open arms by all the patients too. I'm not totally pain free, but after only five months I'm an incredible 80% better! He's a miracle worker! Go, even if you haven't been in a car accident or a slip and fall thing. Being 6'5" I have always struggled with posture and back/neck pain. I grew up going to my parents chiropractor because that is just where we went. They did an ok job, but now I know that it wasn't good enough. I had to go in at least once a week, if not more, to get adjusted because by back would start to hurt again. It was as I like to call it, a "Band-Aid Fix." After getting in an automotive accident one of my friends referred me to Dr. Oncken....and I have been thanking him ever since. It is a whole new experience at Oncken Chiropractic. His knowledge of why things happen and how to fix it astound me. I have not had one concern that he has not been able to ease, if not entirely eliminate the pain. My posture has improved substantially, and my overall wellness is the best it has been in a long time. Both Josh and his receptionist are such friendly and amazing people. It is all about customer satisfaction nowadays and these two set the bar. Although the commute is a little out of the way, it is worth it. To have the adjustment, traction, and massage all done at the same place saves me a lot of time with my busy schedule. I have, and will continue to recommend everyone I know to Dr. Oncken. There is no need to go anywhere else. Dr. Josh Oncken and his staff are professional, knowledgable, and eager to bring you back to health. Sounds like a staff member is writing this review, but, actually, I am a patient. I couldn't recommend a better chiropractor and a better overall experience. I can say with confidence that you won't be disappointed. He and the staff have improved some of my long-term back problems and every penny (he is very reasonably priced) has been worth it. After 35 years of different chiropractors, some good, some bad, Doctor Oncken is by far the best chiropractor I have seen. He takes an interest in one's whole health, and is a truly caring person. My migraines have been a burden I have lived with since I was a child, and Doctor Oncken was able to give me the first real relief I have ever had. I consider that a miracle and feel like my life has been given back to me. After 3 years of having my whole family treated by Doctor Oncken we are happier, healthier and able to live a much more active lifestyle thanks to his treatment, guidance and encouragement. Pros: Professsional, caring, knowlegable and a very, very good chiropractor. Plenty of parking, great office staff, relaxing and comfortable environment. Cons: It would be great if Dr. Oncken could clone himself and be located downtown and in Factoria so I could see him during my lunch hour instead of just after work. more

Dr Oncken is the best. I have seen other chiropractors before Oncken, but he is the best. He is friendly, informative, punctual and positive. I have had chronic head and face pain and numbness in my neck and fingers for over 2 years. I have seen a neurologist, osteopath, physical therapist, behavioral therapist and chiropractors with no results. Dr. Oncken was THE ONLY doctor to identify and alleviate the pain with chiropractic care, and physical exercises in only two weeks. After the shock of looking at my xrays with Dr. Oncken I commited to a regimen of exercises, adjustments. traction and diet. While the time commitment was significant the results have been amazing. What I liked was Dr Onckens ability to quantify the results I was getting with xrays. I have more energy and range of motion on my lower back that was on the path to twisted inflexibility. Another thing that was impressive was when I significantly injured my calf muscle running, Dr Oncken used a taping treatment that helped me to heal in only four days. His upbeat and positive attitude makes you feel better just by walking through the door. He truly cares about his patients well being.
