Fresh and delicious, every day!!! 10/29/2008

I started going to Super Jenny's after a co-worker invited me to join her for lunch. It was delicious. Every day, they have a new menu, and everything is fantastic. My favorite is the Dad's Turkey Chili and the Shrimp and Crab Bisque. They are the friendliest staff, and always make my day that much better when I walk through the door. It's always nice to sit outside, but on the chilly days in Atlanta, they have seating inside as well. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Also, they say it's cash only, but they take checks too. I wouldn't spend $12 on a lunch anywhere else! Even though that may seem pricey to some, it's a large helping, so there are always leftovers. See for yourself and enjoy! Pros: Friendly staff, fresh and delicious foods, in the heart of buckhead Cons: parking, sometimes if they have a hot item on their menu, they run out... so the earlier you go, the better more

Great cookies, soups more lika canned soups with a few spices. Nothing special. 9/27/2008

Ate there this time last year, food was ok. Now its not even ok. lentil veggie soup is nothing special just like a soup from Campbell with a few spices. Nothing really specail about this place, except great customer service but that you will always get in Buckhead restaurant. I ate there last week with a friend and she wasnt impressed. The name is catchy, but the food is short of being special or even belonging to the Buckhead fancy restaurants. More like a dive with unrealistic prices....If all restaurants are full in Buckhead, this can be your last resort soup stop. Pros: great service Cons: bad food, nothing wow! more

Good, but not the best 5/22/2008

Souper Jenny has some great soups, don't get me wrong, but they are not the best. The best in Atlanta belong to Chef Marty White of Sops on Ellis. I am yet to try soups that match the creativity and flavor of Sops. Pros: Nice location; Great tasting soup more

Best Restaurant in Atlanta 4/29/2008

Souper Jenny is close to my office, and I'm always looking for an excuse to have lunch there! The food is incredibly fresh, amazingly tasty, and relatively healthy. Quite possibly my overall favorite restaurant in Atlanta, and that's saying a lot! The one downside - the crowds!!! If you try to eat there at high noon, you'll be waiting in line with Buckhead Bettys galore, and the dining room can be packed. The employees are cheerfully flaky, but very friendly and knowledgeable, though they rarely do a good job of moving customers through the line quickly. Try eating early or late, though the restaurant does tend to run out of items later in the day. Sunday brunch is great too (and usually not so crowded), but beware an influx of post-church Buckhead mommies and daddies with their noisy rugrats. Did I mention that the food is spectacular?! Pros: Incredible food! Cons: The crowds - adults on weekdays, hetero families on weekends. more

Better than expected 1/28/2008

I tried this restaurant after reading about in the AJC. When I went there, none of the soups sounded appealing to me, but I gave it a try. So di my daughter who is a very picky either and not willing to try much out of her comfort zone. Our soups were amazing! I had Everything Vegetable and she had My Daddy's Turkey Chilli. I tried hers and she tried mine (she is not a veggie eater). We both were impressed with both soups. We will definitely go back to try more. Pros: good eating, reasonable price Cons: Too far from my house more

Long line, but worth the wait! 10/21/2007

Whenever we have friends come in from out of town, we have to take them to Souper Jenny. It's not some chain restaurant that everyone has been to and the food is great. Pros: Great food Cons: Long Line more

Never go there 7/14/2007

food was not what i expected im a huge fan of metro fresh and was told souper jennys was even better not even close. Metro fresh caters to people who want a low fat meal fast and fresh, souper jennys can't even get that idea in the same ballpark. will never eat there Again..... Pros: Service Cons: Bad food more

Souper Jenny Does It All! 11/16/2006

With Fall in the air, and leaves turning, our tummies turn also at lunch time. The owner Jennifer Levinson, does it all. She's a mother, actress, and one good soup maker. As my Bubie always said, ""If you can't make soup, you can't cook"". Well Jenny knows. The ladies who lunch crowd, love her Turkey Chili. But just give me her classic Matzo Ball Soup, anytime. Have a salad, half-sandwich, and you have a great little home-made lunch. So arrive early, or late, the lines are long. Pros: Comfy Home-made Soups, Salads, & Sandwiche's Cons: Lines Get Long At LunchTime! more

Delicious 11/15/2006

I have never had a bad meal at Souper Jenny. Everything is always super fresh and tasty - just make sure you bring cash. more

jason's deli 9/22/2006

souper jenny's is awful. go to jason's deli and its the same price, and you get so much more options for under 10 dollars and a place to sit. what a waste of my time, plus, there was nowhere to sit! Pros: none at all Cons: other places are better, bad customer service, small and almost claustrophobic more

Over Rated! 9/20/2006

Food was very average and the lunch was over priced! This eatery is not a big deal and you could easily miss it and not miss anything. It is not worth the wait or the time trying to find a parking place. Pros: Good Location Cons: Food was Average more

Crazy, upbeat lunch spot 3/28/2006

I love this place!! The staff is always in a great mood and the food - no matter what the day's menu includes - is always even better than I expect it to be. The turkey chili (offered everyday) is incredible and so are the homemade pitas. Call before you go: their menu changes daily and includes your choice of 2 sandwiches (one meat and one veggie), 2 salads, and 5-6 soups. For $10, you get a sandwich or salad, bowl of soup, roll, cookie, fruit, and drink - can't beat it! If you don't like to wait - avoid visiting between 11:30-1 (lunch crowd = long lines!). The line goes out the door, so be prepared to wait outside. Pros: food, service more

what???! don't believe the hype! 2/28/2006

i went for lunch with my mom. this place is totally overcrowded for lunch the line was out the door and there was no where to sit inside or outside (both limited seating by the way). the food was average and everything was something i could make at home. not worth it. Pros: cute restaurant Cons: no seating, bad food, crowded more

Loved it! 6/28/2005

went for the first time today and loved it! a small line that moved quickly. a turkey pita that was one of the best sandwiches I have EVER had. $10 lunch special with various combos available. I got the sandwich and 2 salads, one being a fresh berry with yogurt that was beyond description it was so delish!! ALSO included was a home baked cookie and a drink from the cooler AND a fresh peach that you got on the way out... This, fellow foodies, will be my new addiction!!! more

Sheila and Crystal love this place 10/15/2004

The soup, salads and sandwiches are always awesome. The combinations are so fresh and so wholesome and so delicious. Everything is wonderful more

YUM!! 10/27/2002

There is nothing better than a trip to Souper Jenny on a winter day. I've never been disappointed with any of the soups I've tried. And the sandwiches and soups are excellent! Pros: Inexpensive Cons: seats more

Soup makes you happy 5/30/2002

With at least three or four soups to choose from, it seems impossible to come here and not find a pleasing soup option. Of the homemade soups, tortilla is my favorite, and I like eating it best on the outdoor patio next to the teeny, tiny little restaurant. Best to plan your visits here on off-peak hours to ensure a quick seat. more

Cold or Warm Weather: It's All Good 5/15/2002

I havent had a soup here I didnt like. Personal favorites are the turkey chili and chicken tortilla. Add a homemade brownie or cookie to your order, and youll be glad you did. During peak lunch hours, expect a line (that moves fairly quickly) and cramped quarters inside. If the weathers comfortable, opt for a table outdoors. Pros: Exceptional soups, Homey atmosphere Cons: Crowded lunches more
