Reasonably priced for the standard of food received What really stood out for me was the excellant customer service we received from the bar staff. Helpful and nice beyond what was required. Sol Irlandes Restaurant is my favorite Tex Mex 9/2/2009

I love this restaurant. The food is great. The plates are filled with more than you can eat in one sitting. Everything is so flavorful. I usually have the chimichanga and the appetizer platter with quesadillas, nachos and flautas and guacamole on it. Can't think of the name right now. I overeat every time I go there. You definately get your money's worth. I cannot remember exactly what I pay for the food but I never hesitate to order an appetizer, entree, dessert and drinks from the bar. The service is exceptional. The staff has such great personalities and make you want to be there. I live in Fort Worth but I drive to downtown Dallas for great Tex Mex and atmosphere. I last attended for my birthday on a Friday night. I did not call ahead and there were approximately 13 in my party. They accommidated us with no problem and the wait was not very long. more

Sol Irlandes Restaurant - great atmosphere & friendly service 6/28/2009

Oh, so love giving 4 stars at a minimum on a review that is so favorable by others; but unable to do so here. Love the atmosphere, the ambiance and surroundings. Beautiful place, great patio for good weather. Greeted and seated promptly in a most comfy booth by friendly host. From here on, I'll categorize our experience: Drinks ordered and served promptly. One Miller Lite, and one top shelf margarita. NO draft beer; not a good thing according to my BF, But, he survived with two more bottled beers. My top shelf was very weak; not much tequila or Grand Marnier @ $11.00 for a 12 oz mug. Disappointment. Did not order another. I loved the thin crispy chips and the salsa. Soft corn tortillas were very good; served with ice cold butter which tore the tortillas when trying to spread. Hey folks; SERVE ROOM TEMP butter with soft tortillas. This is a Mexican Restaurant requirement! Friend's chicken fajita salad was very good; nothing different or outstanding, but very edible. He said the balsamic more

Best Hangout Spot In Dallas 4/20/2009

My aunt and I stopped by this place to say hi to an old friend and ended up staying over 2 hours! The atmosphere is so inviting you don't ever feel like leaving. The drinks were amazing and the bartenders were very friendly. This is my new downtown spot without a shadow of a doubt! Pros: Example: best croissants in town Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

One of the Best spots in Downtown 3/13/2009

Although our Entertainment Book coupon wasn't honored, Sol Irlandes posted that on the door and marquee. Attentive staff, including the valet. Manager checked on us twice and the wait staff worked as a team to take care of ours and the neighboring tables' needs. Great food and drink at fair prices. We shared the Fish Taco Wrap and Acapulco Enchiladas. Best location on Main Street, too. Pros: Great Waitstaff, management, , drinks, and atmosphere Cons: The chips didn't do justice to the fantastic salsa more

Awesome ribs, my wife had the fajitas which were outstanding. Guacamole was fresh made (and very flavorful), not like the mush you find at the big chains out of a plastic bag.\r Service was attentive and FRIENDLY with the server actually giving us the kind of service we all wish we'd get.\r Even Tom the owner stopped by and made sure we were having a good time, we'll be back with our friends!\r Worth the drive to downtown!! more

The BEST Mexican food and Happy hour downtown! 3/4/2009

I live down the street from solirlandes Mexican restaurant downtown. I have been coming to this downtown mexican restaurant since they opened. The Ribs are AMAZING, the Mexican fish tacos are my lunch favorite and the margaritas at 3 dollars and the appetizers at 3 dollars during happy hour are unbeatable! Big portions, fair pricing and great service. Their patio is a great place to watch people when they get off work as well in the downtown area. Free chips and salsa every day too. They have a HUGE room upstairs with a private bar, pool table & fireplace that is PERFECT for parties. Call ahead for big parties and they can accommodate up to 150 upstairs. HUGE tv?s too for sports. Get your margarita, game day on! As you can see I really can't say enough about this fantastic mexican restaurant. Go now! Pros: GREAT Value, food, drinks and service Cons: not a one more

BEST DRINKS in town!! 6/18/2008

All is great but the only thing i would like to see change is the menu. I have lunch once or twice a week and the menu is old. We should all suggest to have beef brisket tacos and a new soup added to the menu. Pros: BEST drinks in town!! Cons: Need to add new items to the menu more

This place is awesome 4/7/2008

One of the best happy hours in DALLAS!!!!!! Food is one of the best in downtown and the bartenders make excellent drinks. If you get Amelia or Brandon as a bartender expect great service and amazing drinks!!!!! Would highly reccomend for people that are visiting Dallas or Dallas residents. more

Best Downtown Hangout 4/3/2008

This place is INCREDIBLE! INCREDIBLE food and atmosphere! We have been back time and time again and every time we have a memorable experience! My favorite time is the Spring and the patio is a great place to hangout and enjoy the INCREDIBLE Margaritas! This place offers it all - INCREDIBLE patio, big screen TVs, upstairs is elegant; yet casual with a bar, fireplace, pool table and TV! What is surprising is how large and accomodating it is - my friend just hosted a party upstairs and the staff did a great job of making sure is was an INCREDIBLE event! I found out that this place is not owned by a corporation - it is individually owned and operated and I believe that makes a big difference in how it is operated. Go see for yourself! Pros: Atmosphere and Food more
