I attempted to color my hair at home and it was not even, it had a light pinkish tone to it. I went to SmartStyle located in WalMart on Hwy 29 and asked to have my hair re-colored. The woman brought out a book with different hair colors. I picked a light almost a strawberry blond, very close to the color my hair was. She kept saying that she thought a very bright red color would look real good. I told her that I didn't like that color. We agreed on the lighter color, she went to the back and mixed it. As she was putting the mixture on my hair, her associate came up and asked her several questions. Something about ""what did she put on my hair to counter act the color I had put on it?"" (she didn't put anything on it), after that they both talked too low for me to hear all they were saying. When the time was up, she had me go to the sink to rinse my hair. I told her several times that the water was too hot, it burnt my head. She kind of laughed and said that was WalMart's fault, because they couldn't get the water regulated right. When she took me back to dry my hair, I looked at the color and it was the darker color that she had told me she liked. I told her that I hated it and she kept saying how much she liked it. She said she may be able to lighten it up some but didn't know for sure. She put me under a drier and went to talk to her associate. After my hair was dry the associate came to me and informed me that there was nothing they could do, that after I washed my hair a few times it would probably lighten up closer to the color I wanted in the first place. I had her bring out the book and used the sample colors to show her the color I had picked as well as the color the other associate wanted. My hair matched the other color almost exactly. At this point I was in tears, I paid and left. My hair looks so bad, that when I wen to work, I have been teased, pointed at, even laughed at.
