Best

I have had two treatments at Sleek. I am very happy with the service. I never had to wait, they always take me at my scheduled time and both procedures were thorough and really ...

Worst

When I walked in the door for my first treatment, someone on the phone at the front desk shoved paperwork in my face and told me to go upstairs and fill it out prior to my appoint...

Sleek Medspa is AWFUL 8/2/2010

Sleek Medspa has been an awful waste of time and money.\r \r I first started laser hair removal treatments for abs, chest, upper arms, shoulders, back, and back of the neck in October 2006. This package cost me over $7,000 for 6 treatments. After the treaments, I noticed thining of the hair, but NOT REMOVAL. \r \r I foolishly bought another round of treatments for 50% off in December 2007, spending over $3,500. Towards the end of my treatments, I learned that Sleek Medspa changed their marketing to include a 1 year guarantee with purchase of any laser hair packages. I was upset that I didn't qualify for this 1 year guarantee since I bought my packages only months before they changed this. After speaking with the manager, I was able to purchase the 1 year guarantee for about $350 instead of having to buy another round of treatments which would cost 10 times as much.\r \r It is now July 2010, I have gone through 3.5 years of consistent laser hair removal at sleek medspa and there is still no permanent hair removal. Of course NOW they offer a lifetime guarantee with purchase of laser hair removal packages which is utter crap. \r \r I went in for my appointment yesterday, after leaving work early, only to be told that my 1 year guarantee had expired back in April and that if I wanted to continue treatment I'd have to pay $3,500 again. Let me do the math, I've already spent nearly $11,000 for 18 laser hair removal sessions that were supposed to remove body hair and have failed to do so. I've spent 3.5 years of avoiding direct sunlight and being pastey white, and going to my appointments religiously every 6-8 weeks.\r \r All this company wants is your money. From my first complimentary consultation, I felt pressured by the sales rep. Thankfully at that time I didn't have my own credit card to pay for it so I couldn't sign up initially, and had time to actually think about it and consult with my parents. \r \r I've rarely ever had the same technician, and none of them ever know my full case file. They always ask me what areas are being treated. I've had treatments that last 30 minutes, and treatments that last an hour - there is no uniform system set up for lasering so each session you're not sure what to expect as far as quality of the work. \r \r Scheduling has somehow always been screwed up, be it that a technician is out and they cancel my appointment with the promise of getting me in as soon as possible but that never happens because they are so understaffed and appointments are always taken that you end up missing a cycle of treatments, or they don't allow enough time in the appointment to cover all the areas that need to be treated. \r \r As a devoted customer for over 3.5 years, I'm outraged that they expect me to pay more money to treat the same areas that I've been treating this whole time because they made promises they can't back up. They claim that the technology of the lasers has drastically improved since I first started in 2006 and that the lasers now penetrate deeper, which translates to ""you gave us ~ $11,000 for sub par treatment and now you need to pay us more so that we can attempt to eliminate the hair with our new lasers"". Yea Right!\r \r They said they'd talk to the regional manager and get back to me on perhaps a lower price by the end of the week...It's been two weeks now, I've called and left messages and no one has called me back.\r \r In a nut shell, DO NOT GO HERE.\r \r Cons: Poor customer service, only want your money more

FALSE ADVERTISING - DECEPTIVE BUSINESS 7/23/2010

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP GOING HERE!?!! DO YOUR RESEARCH PRIOR TO EXPLORING ANY PLASTIC SURGEON/SURGERY! PROTECT YOURSELVES! This was my fourth consultation for my abdominal area. This was by far the WORST experience I have had to date! This is more like a chop shop for body contouring! I had heard of this joint from their tv advertisement. The first warning sign was that they were more than willing to schedule me that day with no consultation fee. My second warning came when the woman doing the consultation called to thank me for my interest in their office and welcoming me to my appointment later that evening. After the necessary paperwork I sat down in her office and I got the feeling that she wasn't a doctor. She sounded like a sales agent selling a service rather than someone in the medical profession that should be concerned with the patient and their concerns. We talked about what she could do for me, I showed her my stomach and she grabbed a handful of fat and said ""ya, no problem, there is plenty of fat in there that we can suck out!"" Really, is that professional? Every consultation I have been on including the one I went on today included ACTUALLY MEETING the surgeon that was going to be working on MY BODY. A good plastic surgeon informs their patients of the risks involved (and there are always risks, do not let this chop shop of a joint fool you), a good surgeon will always offer you contacts with former patients that had similar procedures to what you are looking for, and finally and most IMPORTANTLY you will KNOW (in order to do further research) who the HELL is going to be doing your surgery and meet them! It is highly important for the patient and surgeon to understand each other and feel comfortable! Meeting him 5 minutes prior to surgery is NOT AN OPTION! After my meeting at Sleek I was extremely concerned about other potential patients that were going to put their lives in their hands. I ask all those interested in Sleek to do their research and consult with other doctors, be competent in the risks involved and know what to look for! Pros: Locations Cons: The unprofessional, uneducated sales girls more

Girlfriend Loves this Place 2/24/2010

My girlfriend wanted a few things done, nothing too drastic or surgical, and she was nervous about certain procedures. Sleek brought her in and gave her a free consultation on a number of procedures that can be done, mainly for laser hair removal and potentially botox. She was beyond excited when she came out. It's pretty easy too because we live on Newbury Street, so it's a quick walk! Very cool spot, she's very happy and looks great. Pros: Great location, awesome work more

Be Cautious 1/22/2010

I've been going here since last summer (2009). I bought a laser hair removal package for a couple thousand dollars which I thought was an amazing deal for what was being offered. The Facilities are nice and the women I met with for my consultation was very nice. My treatment were going very well although it was VERY difficult to book appointments. Now I have to book my appointments 10 weeks ahead of time to make sure that they have one that doesn't require me to take the afternoon off from work. The reason for such a low score has to do with customer service and general inconsistency of services offered. At one of my visits in November the technician burn me while doing my laser hair removal. That week I emailed the costumer service email for this location and got no response. The burn turned into a scar! After over a month of putting mederma between my eyes I emailed the corporate office and only then did anyone contact me about getting the scar removed (which is going to take a couple months of weekly treatments which on the one hand i'm very happy they are going to remove it and on the other i'm not sure why it took so long for someone to contact me and I really do have better things to do once a week then get my face sanded). Sometimes the technicians are awesome and nice and sweet and they have towels for all the goop and nice music and people are nice and sometimes none of these things exist and you stuck with a open wound in the middle of your face and you are scrapping off goop with paper towel. Just be warned that your visit may go poorly - but some of mine have been fine. Pros: Very inconsistent (sometimes this place is nice) Cons: Most of my experience hasn't been good more

very unwelcoming place 12/2/2009

I hate writing reviews but I have to say something about this place. I have a lot of dark spots on my face and i'm trying to get them off through micro-dermabrasion and chemical peels. First time I walked into this place, I knew what I wanted so they didnt have to sell me anything. I am on my third treatment and I am disappointed. I think the result is okay but the customer service is horrible. I do not feel welcomed when I walk in. A bunch of girls just stay by the computer and stare at you. I feel like my tech is always in a hurry to go home. I dont think the peel stays on my face for the appropriate 3 mins. My face is yet to peel. The whole experience is just not personal enough for me. The other day I went in to get a micro dermabrasion treatment...The practitioner did not know what I was in for, she thought I was getting a peel. Its impossible to get an appointment and they are very quick to just book you in a month if they have no slots for the normal 2 weeks interval....I paid for 10 treatments and I am done after that..If i'm paying you so much money, I expect to get excellent service and feel welcomed when I walk in and I expect whoever is working with me to know my history of visits and what i'm getting done instead of always trying to sell me something.I should have known better because the first day I walked in for consultation, a customer was complaning at the front desk about the service\r \r Pros: Location Cons: Horrible customer service, techs are too busy chatting more

Worst Customer Service! 8/17/2009

I have been a client of Sleek MedSpa at the Newbury Street location for some time. I’ve mostly used the microderm services. I have also purchased a laser hair removal package that is guaranteed for life. Let’s say I’ve dropped a few thousand for these services. After a routine micro I decided to purchase a product. When I got home, I realized that I had an email that gave me 25% off purchases of their products valid that day in addition to receiving a flyer. So I went back to get the minor adjustment. I explained my situation, had my documents and wanted a credit to my credit card. The woman at the front desk said she couldn’t do that but would be willing to credit me on my next purchase. I explained that I did not plan on purchasing anything else so a credit would be appreciated. Again, she couldn’t do that. After further explaining my situation she said she would have to leave a message for her manager and that the manager would get back to me. I was annoyed but somewhat satisfied someone could take care of something so simple. Some time goes by and no response. Next appointment I decide to ask yet another person at the front desk about my inquiry. Again, she couldn’t authorize the credit but she took down my name and number and assured me the manager would get back to me. She also informed me of the “problems” at this location in the customer service area. A couple days later the manager left a voice mail that at this time she was unable to credit my card and could only give me a credit to anything I purchased in the future. I called her back and she had to get her manager involved again as I was not satisfied with her response. She said she would call me back. She never did. Here is what I take from this: Sleek MedSpa is an organization that really could care less about their clients. Once you purchase their services, they have your money and you’re not getting it back. There is a purpose for policies; however, a human needs to be able to read said policies and determine if the policy makes sense and is valid. Furthermore, the new and improved management is not only willing to let go of a client over a few bucks but also invite negative press. With so many options out there to get dead skin cells off your face, I encourage you to look at other places. Pros: Location, some friendly technicians Cons: Disorganized, management, can't get an appointment more

Expensive, unprofessional, unsatisfactory. 7/30/2009

I experienced the same stuff a lot of people here have been complaining about. There is always problems with booking appointments, and the staff is unprofessional and condescending. I had a laser hair removal package and after 6 sessions I don't even see 20% reduction. Could it be because the techs speed through the session and miss spots so frequently? My friend also got burned quite badly by one of their techs and when she complained they told her it was her fault and that she had signed an agreement (read fine print). Pros: Location, amenities Cons: techs unprofessional, scheduling problems, no doctors more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE 6/20/2009

Do not go here, absolutely the worst spa experience ive EVER paid for. i cannot believe these people are still in business. The medical and health board should investigate, ""haphazard"" treatments, no one cares. STAY AWAY!! Your playing RUSSIAN ROULETTE with your body Pros: location Cons: rude service, treatments are a JOKE more

STAY AWAY 6/19/2009

worst experience ever. I went there 2 times for cosmetic fillers and it never worked. And the staff? They are so rude... I get nervous only thinking about it! DON'T GO THERE!!! Pros: Location (newbury street) Cons: Everything else more

Terrible Experience 1/20/2009

I had mesotherapy done at Sleek Boca Raton about a year ago (I went in for a consultation for something else and was talked in to it). I asked about adverse side effects and the consultant said there were none (this probably should have been my first clue not to trust Sleek). After a few treatments, I noticed that I was seeing absolutely no improvement and my swelling was not going down. Both the aesthetician and the manager assured me it was normal and to get more treatments done. Around $1,500 later, it was clear that the procedure not only hadn?t worked, but had made things worse. I now have localized swelling on my inner thighs that will not go down. \r I let them know how unhappy I was with the whole process, but I was rudely told that I had signed a contract and there would be no compensation for what had happened. \r A couple months ago I received an email from the manager saying that things at Sleek had changed and that I should give them another chance. I assumed that this meant they would be allowing me to use the money I had wasted on mesotherapy on another procedure or at least receive some partial compensation. So I went in for a free consultation at Sleek Boston. Before I could even say what I was procedure I wanted, the consultant started GUESSING what I was there for. I found this incredibly insulting, particularly since she guessed wrong and managed to make me feel very insecure about a mole I have on my face. I was truly shocked by her appalling manners. On top of that, she tried to pretend that I was getting a $150 discount for my previous troubles, but this was actually a promotion I had received a coupon for over email! \r Sleek Medspa may seem like a convenient place to have cosmetic work done, but you?re infinitely better off going somewhere that cares about you as a customer and a person. I hope this post manages to save someone else from making the poor choice I made in going to Sleek. Pros: The locations are convenient Cons: Everything else (but particularly the staff, the atmosphere, rudeness, and general policies of the institution) more

STAY AWAY FROM SLEEK MEDSPA 11/16/2008

What a terrible, disappointing experience. I went to Sleek MedSpa on Newbury Street in September. I inquired about fat loss measures in problem areas and I was given a ""consultation"" which was the most ridiculous hard/desperate sale you can imagine. I was told I 100% should do LippoDissolve as I was ""too slender to bother with Smart Lipo"" and my problem areas were love handles and belly. Not much, but I can be vain about that stuff so I went for it. I got a package of 10 treatments for a LOT of money. I was told I would start seeing results after 4 or so. Not only did I not see results, I actually found my pants fitting TIGHTER and I got stretch marks along my sides from where you would swell from the injections right after treatments. I was told nothing could be done about that. \r \r Now, here is the kicker, and the reason I even bothered to write this. I went in yesterday for my 7th treatment, and was told I should reallly consider Smart Lipo since I will at least see results from that. And also that liposdissolve is temporary and the fat cells can get large again, so only smartlipo obliterated them. They tried to tell me this - NOW - after I paid and went through 7 painful treatments. And then tried to get me to pay full price for an entirely new procedure to do what the first one did not. I left with a sick feeling in my stomach. I am absolutely disgusted with this business and expect to see them go out of business in no time based on their complete lack of ethics. Pros: Sam, who does Mesotherapy, is great Cons: They lie, they now have no one available on Newbury for Mesotherapy on Weekdays, it is a sham more

DANGEROUS -- STAY AWAY! 11/14/2008

I made an appointment with the nurse at this location, only to be switched to a sales person. When I asked her what kind of clinical training she had in order to give me a consultation on botox and fillers, she said she ""deals with people all day"" and gets ""tips from the nurse."" I kid you not. This is the person who is going to tell me what kind of dermatological procedure I might need. When I asked about seeing a doctor to do my shots, she basically said that wasn't gonna happen, and that the doctor doesn't do the fillers I was asking about. This isn't what I was told when I called to make an appointment. Bait and switch, sketchy practices. Can't believe this place is allowed to operate. I'd give is zero stars if I could. Seriously. Do not trust these people with your skin. Pros: not a one. Cons: Untrained sales staff giving clinical suggestions more

I Love My New Skin 11/2/2008

I cannot thank SLEEK MedSpa enough. About two months ago, I came in with dullish skin. Too much sum over the years. Now, my skin looks radiant and l can get away with no make-up. I have one more treatment in my package to go. The staff are great ...what they promsied they delivered on. more

Fountain of Youth! 11/1/2008

The Sleek MedSpa is now my ""fountain of youth""! I recently had the skin tightening treatment done and what a difference it made to my skin. I feel 10 years younger! The technicians were professional and attentive. more

scam 7/31/2008

This by far was the worst experance of my life. I payed a high amont of money for no results. Just to find out at the end of my 6 treatment I have to buy another 6 oh but they give it to you for half the price gee thanks. Why would I want to spend even more money for something that doses't even work. this place is a compleat scam. more

Great service, good results, bad scheduling 6/26/2008

I've been going to sleek for about 6 months now. I've signed up for additional laser packages after getting such great results or my underarms/bikini area. I'm not done with my treatments, but have seen a great reduction in hair appearing. Now, I'm also getting my legs and chin done. They offered me these upgrades at a great price. They offer current customers deals all the time! I have done laser at other places and see much better results at Sleek. The girls that work there are very professional. They always greet you as you come in the door. The technicians are happy to make accommodations if you ask (eg - going over a trouble spot twice) . The only problem I've had with sleek is with scheduling. MOre than once, the appointment has been entered in the computer wrong and I've had to contact them to fix it. They send out email confirmations after you book, so if you do book, make sure to look at the email to make sure they booked you the right date, amount of time, and service. If not for that problem, I'd give them 5 stars! Pros: Good results, great customer service Cons: problems with scheduling more

great experience 5/1/2008

I saw a negative reveiw on this site and thought I'd add my 2 cents worth. I've had great experiences at Sleek MedSpa on Newbury St. I had laser hair removal on my lip and chin done and my underarms. My underarms were done in 6 sessions but my face wasn't. My practitioner explained that it could be my hormone levels because I'm over 45. That seemed fair so I bought another package at a huge discount. I was finally done in 9 sessions, and they let me use the sessions for something else- I ended up doing Bottox-Jess is awesome! Very natural - not scary looking like I feared.\r I think the practitioners are all beautiful and classy, and they are all very discreet, exactly what I expect on Newbury St.\r So far I've had great experiences, I'm thinking about doing more services as they have a financing plan that is interest free for a year. \r I'm not sure what this negative reveiw is all about-maybe unrealistic expectations? After all this is a MedSpa not a church! \r If you want safe, effective, affordable medspa services go to Sleek on Newbury St. Pros: Great Service, Friendly, Professional staff, on public transportation, weekend hours Cons: parking situation is tough-but after all it is newbury st. it's like that everywhere more

awful 4/14/2008

It seem like the girls that work hear have no experance. It seems like they have no working experance at all. There loud and have no class. There are onlt 2 girls there that seem io know what there doing. Another thing and most importantly the hair removal dose not work. I've had 2 packages and i still have all my hair. Don't go to sleek!!! Pros: there arn't any more

A NEW AND IMPROVED SLEEK MED SPA 1/27/2008

I went into Sleek in 2007 and I'll be honest I was not impressed, however, one of my girlfriends goes there and she has had great results so I decided to give them another shot. To my amazement I walked in and discoved a warm and customer oriented manager and a brand new staff that are all amazing as well. The atmosphere is so warm and pleasant....I was really impressed. Sleek really has definitely stepped up to the plate. I am having great results and I would really recommend anyone to go there. Pros: great atmosphere, and a really pleasant staff Cons: Chilly in center more
