Great music & message 8/3/2011

Great entertaining service. Good messages. Difficult to get know anyone. No one greets you, FEW will talk with you. Appears to be a clique church. After attending a long time no seems to notice if you are back or not. Many pastors but no outreach. more

see for yourself 4/10/2011

I've been attending Skillman for 17 years. In the first few weeks through these last years there has never been a time when someone did not have my back. We have great music and an open and loving community. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about this group so if you came and had a bad experience, I hope you'll forgive us and give us another chance. Keep in mind that the Evil One works in tricky ways and he may have used that one experience to keep you away. Skillman may be exactly where God wants so please try again. more

Pray to God before you attend this church 10/24/2010

Pray before you attend. If you are to worship there, the people should warmly welcome you. That was not my experience. Maybe negative reviews will wake them up. more

ALIVE AND REAL 4/17/2010

This little church is easy to find near the Lakewood area of east Dallas. My family has been taken in by the people of Skillman Bible Church. We were greeted and accepted even though we probably didn't look like real churchy people. It is a VERY come as you are feel with people wearing jeans, shorts and flip flops as well as those who dressed for church. We loved it, no LOVED it. The worship is fairly contemporary and the music style varies depending on who is leading music that week. The music is almost always unbelievably good though! Most of the musicians are very talented and some are professional, be prepared for goose bumps. Expect to hear the gospel preached by the pastor. I am growing in my faith from the education and the inspiration this church delivers very consistently. Visitors ARE welcomed. more

Drive past it 11/15/2009

I used to drive past Skillman Bible Church and never had a desire to attend. Recently, I started searching for a new church home. A friend told me to visit. Here is my review... The people are friendly (toward each other) I was never acknowledged as a visitor and the PASTOR did not even say hello. It may be a small church but I got that big church coldness. Wow! Two people shook my hand and one lady came and spoke to a couple who sat behind me for a long time then told me she would speak to me but she spent all of her time talking to the couple. I hope if God lays it upon your heart to visit this church, the Holy Spirit would have worked on them as far as how to "treat stangers" for all they know I could have been an angel. One good thing - I LOVE SINGING THE OLD TRADITIONAL HYMNS. They do sing a variety of music which encompasses every age. My advice is to DRIVE PAST Skillman Bible Church and keep looking. God will direct you to a warmer more accepting environment. more

Like a country church in a big city 8/10/2005

Skillman Bible Church is like stepping back in time, especially compared to the mega-churches that dominate Dallas. The building is like a quaint church out in the country. Inside it is lined with wooden pews. The church currently has about 80-100 worshippers on a Sunday morning (service at 10:30 AM). The music varies significantly week-to-week but it is all done very well without being 'showy'. Skillman has a wonderful pastor (working on doctorate at DTS) and friendly people! more
