This place is a poor attempt to attract more visitors to this city and Six Flags. It's really lame and the lines are long. Definately not worth the money. If you have little kids ...

Bring $$$$$$$$$$ 12/31/2011

Frankly, all I can give stars to would be the rides. The rollar coasters are built for speed and fun and, if you like thrill rides, this is the place. However, this is not a cheap experience, or very efficent. We were there during winter break and the average line was 1 1/2 to 2 !/2 hours long. Plan to spend most of the day waiting. Here is where the money part starts: you can avoid the super long wait by purchasing one of three levels of "flashpasses" and they are NOT cheap. A family of four is going to have to roll out a few hundred bucks to make the rides accessible. Food? Forget it. Very limited choices. Small bag of plain popcorn is five bucks and the few meals available (pizza slice, chicken fingers, burger) come in "baskets" with add ons whether you want them or not. These "baskets" are really just a few cold fries and are priced at a ridiculous $8.99. Sodas and water begin at 3.75. Good luck finding anything other than the above -- unless it's "Dipping Dots," which franchise seems to have a strangle hold on the place. Very little variety. Don't forget parking for $15.00. Bottom line: If you have the cash, get the flashpass, eat before or after you go, and then it might be enjoyable. more

If you loose somthing, Magic Mountain keeps it 8/28/2011

Rides are fun, food is expensive, pack a lunch in a cooler- you will be better off. Not a lot of healthy options here. Bathrooms stink, one ride is near the dumpsters, so if you like the smell of rotting food on a 100 degree day you came to the right park. If you loose something on a ride, nobody will help you. I lost my ID, park pass, on a ride and it's been a week, and I don't think they even bothered to look. Which explains why there is so much trash beneath the rides. Oh and they charge $25 for a replacement park pass. Yeah right, thanks for nothing. Great park policy, nice customer service. You aren't the only theme park in so-cal. If you go be careful, once in the park you are on your own, nobody is there to be helpful, the staff is just there waiting for you to leave. more

Good rides but don't you dare loose anything 8/9/2011

Been to six flags quite a bit and the lines while long really aren't as bad as disneyland or most other theme parks. The food is generally very bland and over priced but with a Wendies just down the hill it's not a big deal. The only complaint I'd have is their lost and found which I've had possibly one of the most infuritiating situations with. I lost my phone on Deja'Vu and saw it on a net hanging just about twelve or so feet over the exit. I reported it immediately in the morning and was told it would only be able to be retrieved early the next day, perfectly understandable. However here I am three weeks later and not only has not a single e-mail I sent been returned but I've called multiple times and listened to the phone wring or sit on hold for hours on end. Finally when I did get a reply I am told that the processing or lost items, do to the number coming in, can take up to a month. This is complete nonsense because the people sitting in lost and found couldn't possibly be so busy as to be a month behind on these things, a week maybe, but a month? What are they doing? There's never a line at lost and found except at the end of the day and even then it's a minimal one what could they possibly be doing the whole time the parks open? Overall, good rides, bad food, decent lines and horrible customer service. more

a bad experience 6/24/2011

NOT HAPPY AT ALL !!!! at this time when everyone is trying to enjoy life and deal with the economic state that most are in, it would seem as though Six Flags Magic Mountain would provide the best possible experience possible to all of their customers. my experience # 1 on their web site they were offering a special that if you purchased your tickets online everyone would recieve them at the kids prices, after attempting to purchase the tickets online numerouse times and the site wouldn't except it I figured since they offered it online and the web site isn't excepting the payment they would honor it at the gate and surely they didn't , the rep at the counter just said so sorry we are a seperate company than the one online, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT, I THOUGHT THAT WAS A PRICE LESS LOOK AND ANSWER THEY GAVE ME so I had to pay the full price, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THIS DAY AND AGE. # 2 they pass that they have this great deal for getting you through the line quicker I.E FAST TRACK there is REGULAR, GOLD or PLATINUM and since I want to get through the lines as quickly as possible so I thought, I purchased the PLATINUM for myself and family. after going through some of the lines I realize that I / we are waiting in line the same amount of time that the regular fast track passes have, so why did I pay $87.50 more for each fast track pass or should I say why not just get the regular fast track pass. I asked a couple of employees that work at the entrance to the rides what is the benefit of getting the PLATINUM OVER THE REGULAR FAST TRACK and their response was NOTHING !!!! the look on their faces were PRICE LESS and it took everything in me to not make a scene. the only ride that seemed like it ran the fast track the way it should be ran was the ninja, meaning when your time came up to ride off you fast track pass you would enter through the exit lane and when the next ride came up the fast track passes would get first shot at any seat. SEEING THAT YOU OFFER TO PAY THIS EXTRA EXTRA FEE FOR THIS PASS, THE PLATINUM PASS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE AT ALL. #3 the park offers you drinks to buy BUT they do not offer you lids for your drinks I asked why they do not offer lids and they said they are concerned about the wild life in the area BUT I go to PANDA EXPRESS that is in the same park and they offer lides with their drinks , PRICE LESS where has customer gone? we pay all this money for a great time and your treated like their doing you a favor for being there. I don't see things changing and I don't see myself coming back again. #4 LAST BUT NOT LEAST WOW YOU PAY ALL THS MONEY FOR FAST PASS I.E PLATINUM AND THEY STILL CHARGE YOU EXTRA MONEY TO RIDE THE X2 WOW CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS. more

Ehh...becoming overrated 9/23/2010

the rides are still good..but it is becoming a chore traveling between rides and waiting in line. they need to have seats in all of the lines..it is very tiring standing in line all day! more

what a blast !!! 6/15/2010

my friends and i had a cut out day from work and we wanted to spend it old school- at Magic Mountain like in highschool. What a super fun day! We rode all the rides, ate the yummy fatting foods with pleasure and just laughed all day! Thank you Six Flags! Pros: big fun! Cons: nothing! more

Worst experience ever! 1/8/2010

After hours of talking to the CS they were unable to admit us to the park due to purchasing tickets on orbitz!! They could not verify our purchase even though we had a printed proof of purchase. finally the police intervened and we got into the park! The slides were not maintained well and we had bleeding raspberries and rashes all over. The water was stinky and we felt dirty. We would not recommend visiting Hurricane Harbor. Keep your family away from this place! Pros: plenty of parking, helpful police Cons: worst customer service, high injury risk, urinal pool water more

Worst Place on the Planet!!!! 12/27/2009

Low level security personal treats you like a criminal! Security guard Gaby is the lowlife who thinks she owns the place, refused to let me in after my 3 children entered with a friend. All because I had a small pocket knife ( about 1 1/2" long) on my key-ring at the entry gate. They told me that I have to walk back to my car with it, or I can leave it with them, but they will not save it for me for the time of exit, but trow it in the trash (means: steal it ). I detached the small pocket knife from my keychain, walked outside the gate, but I didn't want to walk a mile back to my car and I tossed away my small pocket knife into an overgrown bushy area. Upon my return to the entrance, the security guard stopped me that I can't return to the park, because in her opinion I had no time to go to my car and back, I must have hidden my pocket knife somewhere. I told her that I tossed my knife away into the bush outside the parking lot. She told me that I broke "their security rule" and she will not let me in. After arguing that I have no knife on me anymore, and I don't represent any threat to nobody inside, she replied that no way she will let me in and I have to leave the premises immediately. I told her that I need to get my 3 children out, and I need to get a refund. She told me that I can't enter the park to retrieve my children, and that I have to call my kids or my friend to get them out, and that I can't get a refund at all. I marched in anyway, got my children and demanded to talk to the park manager. The security supervisor Gaby told me that she is in charge, and I have to leave the park immediately. She called the sheriff, who explained to me that the only thing I can do is to complain on the internet at their costumer relationship site, (which of course does not exist), but I have to leave now. They escorted me and my children away to my car like a criminal. I'll never visit this awful place again, and I'll tell all my friends and children to stay away from this awful place. All this after driving 45 minutes to get there, paying $15 for parking, paying for 2 adult and 3 children's passes with a total of over $200. An establishment who hires low life security personal like Gaby should not get away with this. Please stay away from Magic Mountain and visit other quality parks with your children!!! Pros: none Cons: Awful customer service, security treats you like a criminal! more

TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL 8/27/2009

I spent a half hour at the will call booth trying to get my sons season pass numkber. I picked up the phone and got the information in 2 minutes what the booth operator was not able to get and was ready to turn me away. As I was waiting for my turn again, my son asked me what was taking so long and I said these people are "brain dead." The booth operator overheard me and had someone standing at the gate to escort me out of the park and denied my entrance. I requested a fefund but they would not return my entrance fee. I had to beg several managers to let me in so the rest of may family could enjoy the day. After over an hour, they let me in. Then while on a ride waiting in line 2 groupd began to argue over someone moving up with their group as they got seperated in line. They stopped the ride for 10 minutes and called security. The customer service is completely lacking!!! They should take lessons from Norstrom or Disneyland!! This is DEFINATLEY NOT THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!!!!! Pros: NONE Cons: WORST DAY EVER more

The Best Theme Park from my experience! 6/29/2009

I normally don't take my time to write reviews, but I made an exception because I had to let everyone know how fun Six Flags is! I went there this past Sunday and I had the best time ever. The best ride was X2 which is unbelievable, but all the others like Terminator Salvation, Tatsu, and Goliath are close behind. For a Sunday, it was not to packed. Maximum wait time was about 1 hr. and most rides were about 1/2 hr wait. I can't guarantee this for all Sundays. Go with people who love roller coasters. The plus was the souvenir cup with free refills day of purchase with wristband and 99 cent refills any day thereafter and there were lots of places where you could refill them. The park was clean and not dirty like other reviewers have stated. Overall, it was the best time I had at any theme park in So. Cal. Pros: Lots of roller coasters, refillable souvenir cup Cons: None, unless you hate waiting in line more

6 flags 1/6/2009

this place is great fun for the day. the prices arent too bad, knotts its cheaper, but fewer things to do. they have all sorts of things for many age groups to do here more

Don't Miss Out on Six Flags Magic Mountain! 11/18/2008

Simply fantastic for roller coaster enthusiasts. The best roller coaster collection in the west! I've haven't ridden any coaster that tops their revamped X2. As for some reviewers who've labeled the park dirty, rundown, or unsafe, I didn't get that impression in the least. The park was clean, the staff was friendly, and never once did I feel the least bit unsafe. For a fun, thrill-filled day, I'd recommend this park to anyone. Not to mention their admission price of $30 (if you buy online) is an absolute steal. Pros: Roller coasters galore Cons: long lines (but out-of-season they're very short) more

Hurricane Harbor = long waits and bad management 8/30/2008

Hi everybody; I took by son to Hurricane harbor on a thursday two weeks ago. It was nice and hot and we were all ready for some splashing good fun. Unfortunately, the management of the slides created rediculous lines on every ride. The park wasn't at all crowded but the lifeguards that were controlling the rides slowed everything to a snails pace. I think the management there is so concerned with a law suit that they have taken all the fun out of the park! For me a water park is slide down and have some fun and then jump out of the pool as fast as you can without the lifeguard blowing his wistle and then pretend you're not running back to the stairs. No running by the pool guys! The point of this is as many slides and splashes as possible per hour. At six flags we were in line for 20 minutes for a thirty second slide. What a joke. $50 a person for an afternoon of about 5 slides! It was like the equivalent of watching a baseball game without any hits. 95% waiting and 4% shelling out money for overpriced snacks and 1% having fun! I give the park a D grade! Pros: It was a water park and there were slides and such Cons: lines were rediculously long due to the terrible slide management, oh yeah, paid for parking too. $15!! more

Worst theme park in southern california 7/13/2008

This place is dirty, unsafe, and trashy. The whole park is uninviting and the employees uniform is ugly. The majority of their guests are unruly teenagers. The day I visited this place, there was a fight between two young men. Security was called to stop the fight. Also, I saw a teenager simulating sexual act on a statue. It was outrageous. What is wrong with those teens at the park. In addition, they lack language or social skills. Every other word that came out of their mouth was profanity. Another problem I have is with their false advertisement with Coca Cola company. The 21.99 that is printed on the soda cans was so misleading. Many people thought it was the price to get into the theme park or hurricane harbor. However, 21.99 was the price to hurricane harbor only. Pros: ride is good Cons: a lot of unruly visitors more

The Downhill Slide Continues.... 8/30/2007

Magic Mountain used to be a great park even though I'm not a roller-coaster fan. The coasters are great and people love 'em, but lots of folks no longer choose to go to Magic Mountain because it's no longer a clean family park. I live in the SCV and wouldn't dare being near the park after-dark. It's a great place for thugs and teens whose parents don't give a hoot about what their kids are doing or where they're going. Rides are great and the transformation for Halloween is really cool, but I no longer feel safe and doubt I'll be going back until Six Flags works on restoring the park for the folks that have disposable income to spend: adults with families. No parent wants to take their kid to a place taken over by gangsters. Pros: Thrill Rides Galore Cons: No Longer Safe more

SAD to see it go 5/25/2007

I worked at MM for eight years growing up. It was still to this day the best job I have ever had. On a recent trip back to the park with my kids I was shocked. The park is dirty, run down, and needs up dated. With so much money going into these rides every year why not skip a year and clean the place up. Make it a place where famalies want to go to. You already have the best rides around and the people will come back. Dirty park or not, but try focussing on the real issue. The people in your own community dont even want to visit anymore. How SAD is that. Clean it, Paint it, Up date it, and then get enouhg security in the park to make it safe for people to enjoy it. And get rid of the water park. That is a waste. Pros: The Rides Cons: The place is filthy more
