Best

Really nice time at Sinbads. Ate outside on the patio. Nice being on the water, no place in San Fran that has the ocean views like Sinbads. So relaxing, can't go wrong.

Worst

My friends and I tried this place last weekend and we will never ever go back! Sindbad's has to be the WORST seafood restaurant in the city. The service was terrible - this holds ...

good job 12/3/2012

Ex boyfriend took me to Sinbad's, might be the start to something new. We enjoyed the day with that wonderful view. Sitting on the window looking at that view made our day. Have a feeling we'll be seeing more of each other thanks to Sinbad's. more

Saw Sinbad's won restaurant of the year award in the newspaper. Took my wife to dinner to see how good it is. It won over our hearts; food was terrific and fresh. The view is unbeatable. We had a window table on the water and couldn't get over the views of the ocean and bridge. Outstanding. more

Took family to San Fransisco for vacation. Our hotel, the Hyatt, highly recommended we stop here. Our whole crew went to Sinbad's for lunch and it was our best stop of our vacation. We dont get that water view from Dallas. Thanked our hotel and if we ever visit again, Sinbads will be our first stop. more

Best views possible 4/27/2011

This place should be a landmark. How many years have they been here, like 35?!?! Sinbads has serious history in SF, and not to mention the best views possible. This is a very classy place and the staff has always treated me great. I have been going to Sinbads for years, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon:) more

I will be back soon 4/26/2011

Awesome location right on the water. The view of the Bay Bridge is amazing at night . I went for dinner with a couple friends. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable of food and drink selection. Ordered the crab cakes and thought they were excellent. The place has been around a long time and we enjoyed the 1970's type atmosphere. I will be back soon. more

Very affordable 4/25/2011

I threw a luncheon banquet here for 70 people, not too long ago; the service was fair, the price was very affordable (compared to less pristine places), and most importantly-my guests' seemed to enjoy themselves. more

Amazing! 4/22/2011

I couldn't help myself from writing a positive review. I have so many positive memories and stories from the restaurant. I mean, it has to be awesome if it has survived San Francisco for so long! I even recommended my younger brother to dine there for there Prom dinner (they loved it).I remember when I was younger and lived in San Francisco, the place to bring a date was Sinbad's. Lets just say, the date I brought there was our first date, and I have had many more dates with that gal to this day. We visited old friends back in San Francisco recently, but couldn't help ourselves for reculecting on old times. I surprised her with a date at Sinbad's and she nearly cried. We asked for a window spot with candlight and were shortly seated window side viewing the beautiful Bay Bridge. I ordered the Sirloin steak burger with cheese and bacon because I personaly love steak. My girlfriend ordered crab. Both meals were amazing! We ordered some long islands and just enjoyed the scenery and each others company. I swear, it just brought back so many happy memories. I feel like that is our spot together. Great food, drinks, and service, but best of all is the enlightening scenery. more

Amazing views. 4/19/2011

Wow, I'm a bit saddened at the low ratings of Sinbad's, since my experience here was quite good. Not surprisingly, Hogs Island at the Ferry Building was insanely packed, so we walked along the Embarcadero and my friend suggested we try Sinbad's instead. Having passed by this place many many times before -- it was nice to finally experience it. First thing-- the amazing views. We chose to sit outside and had the most amazing seats on the waterfront, with a first hand view of the Bay and the bridge. Wow. It was so serene and peaceful. You didn't have the massive crowd situation from the Ferry Building going on, and since it was a nice day, there was no fear of freezing. Next, the service. I thought our waiter did a wonderful job taking care of us. He was a nice guy, answered our questions, took our order, then left us alone but checked on us often (without being overbearing). The food. We each ordered a Dungeness Cracked Crab Chilled and of course, some Anchor Steam beer to go with that. Delicious! The crab was so fresh and presented beautifully. All you had to do was roll up your sleeves and start digging in. And yes, I guess you could argue it's a bit steep at $40/crab, but there was plenty of crab meat in these bad boys, and it was bang for your buck in my mind. I felt incredibly satisfied. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but if you want unparalleled views of the waterfront, great Dungeness crab, and a cold SF beer, go here! :-) more

Friendly, attentive and funny 4/19/2011

I really enjoyed the view and the nice company. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and funny. I had the fisherman's pasta with clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops, and was a bit frightened when one of those giant shrimp/lobster monsters on top (langostine? no idea) but everything was delicious. My husband got the charbroiled salmon with hollandaise that was to die, and my mother in law got the london broil - YUM. more

Excellent dining experience! 4/18/2011

I enjoyed Sinbad's location. It is located right next to the Embarccadero and right on the pier. I have seen some of the posts for this restaurant and I am genuinely shocked because my experience at Sinbad's have been very enjoyable. The waitresses on both occasions i've dined here were very warm and receptive. They were very helpful to me when I was ordering and they even recommended healthy choices that wouldn't affect my diabetes. The food was great. I had a seafood omelet the first time and a Crab and Shrimp salad the second time. Both entrees were great. Ample amount of crab and shrimp for my salad and the omelet was loaded with seafood. I will say that this place is alittle pricey..but you get what you pay for. I wanted an excellent dining experience and i was willing to pay for it..and to me..Sinbad's was worth it. more

  • In Short
Snuggled next to the sleek Ferry Plaza, this decidedly old-school San Francisco institution has been entertaining locals and tourists alike for almost three decades. Cozy up in a blue leather booth and take in the view while waiting for classic fare like a crab cake appetizer, salmon Florentine or fresh clam linguine. Or skip the surf and go straight for the turf: filet mignon. Fresh salads and rich desserts round out the menu.
