Simple Floors: Terrible Customer Service 9/19/2011

No matter what franchise you buy from, if you have a problem with their flooring, you must deal with their national customer service dept. who will systematically and categorically deny any claim you have. Once you pay your money, you are at their mercy, and they will stick it to you. I guarantee it. more

Love my flooring! 9/9/2009

I got a Hickory wood floor. Its hand scraped which is good because I have a big black lab dog. I already had hardwood in my house when I moved in so I just put this flooring in other rooms that had carpet. Everyone loved the one I installed myself better than the other floor. It was pretty easy to install once I fixed a subfloor issue my house had. The cost was cheaper than replacing the rooms with carpet. Extremely happy and once I have the budget considering replacing the rest of the house. Pros: Great Flooring Cons: Not open on Sundays more

This store's product is AWFUL! 7/31/2009

We went with the Steinway Cherry Artisan Flooring because it appeared to be beautiful and durable. How wrong we were! We have used laminate flooring in the past and it was a well-known, slightly more expensive brand. We should have stuck with what we knew and trusted but we wanted to save some money. We purchased 1,200 square feet of this product. When you install, the sides chip off showing the green underlayment. The topcoat chips off easily and forget the durability if you drop ANYTHING on it. In addition, it is not glueless. If you do not glue each strip together at the top, they pull apart within 24 hours, leaving wide gaps between planks. I contacted Simple Floors because the product is supposed to have an AC3 wear rating and should not damage like this. I offered to drive back the defective planks. According to their sales department, I have to PAY for one of THEIR inspectors to come verify that it is defective and the cost was $400! You tell me how neutral that inspector would have been. We are now in the process of pulling up ALL of the flooring we have installed as it is useless. Bottom line---DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! These people are scam artists with a horrible product. Pros: If you use the right underlayment, it is silent. Cons: Nearly all of our flooring is defective. more

Perfect!! 7/29/2009

I recently remodeled my house and tried to go a "green" as possible. I spoke to many companies nationwide to gain knowledge about bamboo flooring. I found Simplefloors through HGTV's Green Guide. They listed Simplefloors as the place to get bamboo flooring. I drove up to Simplefloors, an hour and a half, after talking with Debbie on the phone. Once I arrived I was greeted immediately and with a smile. The knowledge that the employees had was amazing. Debbie was incredible to work with and very patient. Regarding the product. This was my first time using/installing bamboo floors. I've heard horror stories about how hard it can be and such but I found it to be really easy. I purchased the Senco SHF50 floor nailer and had my floors installed, 670 sq ft, in less than five evenings. Keep in mind that I have never installed flooring before and this was done after work each evening. Everything turned out perfect! I have had numerous compliments on my floor and have found it to be very gratifying to own. I had no issues installing it and with the help and customer service that I received from the staff, especially Debbie and Jason, I could not have asked for a better and easier project. Thank you to all of you at Simplefloors in Sacramento. Pros: Everything more

What I hoped for! 8/19/2008

I was looking for flooring and a friend recommended simplefloors. I checked it out, the sales girl was very helpful. She had pictures of my flooring so I could see what it would look like. She refered me to an installation company locally that was helpful and pretty cheap. Its the second day of my installation and I couldn't be happier. Pros: great great Cons: I wished they had cleaners here so I don't have to go elsewhere to get the right cleaner more

Cork flooring - was the best I have found 8/9/2008

I looked all over the internet and local stores and stumbled upon simplefloors while going to the quilting store next door. The cork flooring I got has cork on the back and top, it locks together like a pergo floor so I installed it myself with some help. I'm happy with the llook and it was great to be able to go green and I did it cheap! I did have to wait for a week for it to arrive, because it was not here in sacramento at the time. I would shop here again if i needed more flooring. Pros: Price and selection Cons: took a week more

in response 8/4/2008

I agree that everyone should have a voice and be able to express their views and feelings. That being said, my name is Debbie, I am one of the owners of Simplefloors and am requesting the chance to respectfully reply to the review listed below. Dustin contacted my company with his concerns about the flooring?s installation capabilities at the home where he was currently working. We ask many questions when someone calls in with a difficulty so that we have a clear understanding of the situation and the most appropriate advice is given. I spoke with Dustin personally and felt that he handled himself very well by describing the situations and providing excellent information about the installation. I felt that our communication was one of mutual respect, with resolution being the goal of both parties. When a resolution was unable to be reached, I hired an independent inspector to go to the home where Dustin was working to discover the cause of the installation difficulties. This independent inspector is a private third party company that is by law required to be impartial. The inspector was thorough and discovered that the home?s humidity level was at 22%. Industry standards and the manufacturer both agree that the home must be in range of 35%-55% humidity for the health of the floor. Proper humidity is essential for all wood products in a home from cabinets, musical instruments, to flooring. Prior to installing a floor, the industry requires that the installer determine the home and the flooring to be at appropriate levels of humidity. The determination of the inspector was that the flooring was sound and found free of defects. The product in question is one of our most popular floors and has been a running line of ours since August 2006. To date the only claim against this flooring is the job Dustin was installing. Although it?s known that you cannot please everyone we do try and we wish Dustin all the best for his future installations. Pros: n/a Cons: n/a more

Take it from an installer......do not buy from this place! 8/1/2008

My customer purchased a strand woven bamboo from Simple Floors and as an installer I am unable to install it. The janka hardness rating is 3000, yet the Premium Green Bamboo install intructions say you can staple or nail this product. Reputable mills who produce a similarly hard product will tell you you can only glue their product as when it is that hard tongues splinter, staples or nails won't drive in, and even if they do leave surface dimples which are unacceptable. Unfortunately I can't glue down the product because the milling is so terrible there would be gaps in the floor small children could fall in and disappear forever. The boxes say the product is 1/2" thick by 3 3/4" wide......neither of those measurements are accurate. The install brochure refers to the product as 5/8". The product is actually 7/16". Try to get service and you are ridiculed and your install abilities questioned, yet I have talked to 6 other installers who have had similar problems with these strand woven epoxy filled bamboos. They were nice enough to send an inspector out who was obviously so biased and set on protecting Simple Floors from having to replace the floor it wasn't even funny. I am still waiting for him to return my two calls and have been waiting about 3 weeks for the manager of Simple Floors to call me back. This place is a joke and basically a secondhand hardwood store. Buyers beware.....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Pros: They carry hardwood you maybe could install in a doghouse. Cons: Poor customer service, uneducated about product, rude, unreliable and every other negative word in the English language more

Best place I found to buy bamboo flooring 7/12/2008

I found a bamboo floor at simplefloors, they carry a tougher bamboo and its made with water based adhesive and is 100% percent organicly grown. I felt really good about the flooring and everyone that helped me was really nice. I would shop here again. Pros: lots Cons: not open on sunday but were on saturday more

if you don't like to shop this is the place to go 4/21/2008

I was in and out and it was easy to find what I needed. They shipped it to my house for $89.00! Its a rental but the woods holding up to them. I wasn't to picky but they had good recommendations on what would work best for me so when I do my own place I'm definately going back! Pros: Helpful and quaility work Cons: not open on sunday more

I love my flooring! 4/7/2008

I got my flooring and picked it up at their Sacramento location. Everyones really friendly and helpful, they were knowledgeable on installation - since I installed it myself. The personal tips helped a lot, installation wasn't brain surgery but its good to read the directions. When I picked it up the warehouse they helped me load it which is really nice because the boxes are heavy. Prices were great, good warranties, helpful service. I will go back when I finish the rest of my house. Pros: lots, price, selection, value Cons: they are in rancho more

Company is Bad News 4/6/2008

Things look great in the showroom but try to get it home. I had nothing but hassles on my order. At first they told me it was a discontinued line and I had to prepay to guarantee delivery. Then they sent me the wrong sample of wood I ordered. Then they tried to deliver the wood weeks before we had agreed on. Once the deal is done you can't get a sales person on the phone and nobody answers the phone in customer service. To add insult to injury they did a bait-and-switch on my order and I'm still fighting them for satisfaction.. more

Hardwood 3/15/2008

I went online and found the simplefloors website. When I realized that there was a showroom in Sac I visited them there. The samplings were large and gave me a better idea of what the product would look like. I know that wood can change from samples cuz its natural but its nice to have a better idea. I didn't think i would be able to afford hardwood I came into look at laminate but I walked out with a hardwood for the same price I was expecting to pay for laminate flooring! They had a special to deliver to my house for 89.00. It took about a week to ship to my home. I haven't bought a lot of flooring but this was painless and I love the finished product. I would recommend them to my friends more

Do NOT order from Simple Floors if you have other choices! 3/11/2008

We ordered a floor from Sinple Floors in Feb. of 2008. The shipment arrived late by 7-10 days. That really didn't bother me a whole lot because I realize that these things can happen. When the shipment arrived, the color was not at all like what was shown on the website. I am easy to get along with, so I tried to convince my wife that it would still look good. We ordered rejuvenate plank Brazilian Cherry and the website portrays it as a medium shade and what we got was a real dark shade. It did not look good and we asked a flooring installer what he thought. He agreed with my wife and I said I would call Monday and exchange it for a different one. I called and talked to Tina. She was totally unprofessional and rude. She told me "THAT IS A NATURAL PRODUCT AND IT COMES THAT COLOR RIGHT FROM THE TREE WITH NO STAIN." I asked to talk to her supervisor and was told the supervisor was on the other line , Would I hold? I was on hold for a total of one hour with Tina(the customer "service" rep) asking several times if I wanted to leave a message. Each time, I told her I would wait for her supervisor to finish her call. After an hour passed, it was obvious that Tina was Lying, so I reluctantly left my number while telling Tina that I doubted very seriously I would get a call. Well, It is now the next day and I got NO CALL. I will continue in this attempt to be treated fairly, but I think the Odds are against me. BP Pros: Good Price Cons: Dishonest Company more

BUYER BEWARE 8/7/2007

BUYER BEWARE - Do not buy from this webite. No one answers the phone, don't ever speak with Adam, he has no clue as to what he is doing. I ordered my floors on the 19th, was told on the 27 that they were out of stock and had nothing else I picked. Then they took my money on the 24th. I noticed it on the 30 demanded my refund was promised it would be in 3-5 days, then on the 7 of the next month was told that it would take another 5-10 days. This company is a rip off. I reported them more

Great service and flooring! 8/4/2007

I found the quaility to be relative to the grade of flooring that i wanted to buy. They had products that were builder products, medium quaility, and really tough quality floors. The sales person helped us figure out our needs so we got the right product. Their pricing was great and they allow the return of my extra cartons for one month! We love our floor! Highly recommend! more

There is nothing simple about simple floors 5/31/2007

Buyer beware. Read their refund policy carefully before even thinking about buying from them. There flooring is very poor quality and if there is anything wrong with it after your purchase too bad for you because you'l be stuck with it. Pros: none Cons: everything more

Huge selection! 4/18/2007

The deals you'll find at simple floors are well worth traveling to the industrial park where it is located. When you walk in, you'll find that their selection is overwhelming. Beatiful flooring at very affordable prices. The sales associates are really helpful and nice. Pros: selection and price Cons: none more
