Silk Nails 8/25/2006

I was given a birthday gift card to this place, and went there last week for a manicure/pedicure/eyebrow waxing. Prices are reasonable, at $43 for the above package. Overall, I had a relaxing and fun experience, and I am completely surprised that others have given negative reviews on service. Everyone from the receptionist to the women working on my hands and feet (both at the same time!) were exceptionally friendly and nice. I loved the hot foot soak in the pretty bowls filled with water scented with lemon grass and other herbs. I also enjoyed the arm/leg massage with the warmed lotion. There is a good selection of nail polishes, from Chanel and YSL to Opi. Possibly the best part is the buffet of fruit, appetizers, and desserts at the front of the store. Make sure to go on a Saturday for this perk. This is a great place for a day of indulgence on a budget, or to spend some girly time with your friends. more

affordable price!!! 1/18/2006

I went to Silk Hands Salon a few weeks back, the place had great presentation, great customer services. The prices were decent and affordable. The salon have competitive prices compare to some highly-priced salons. I was greeted right at the door, and didn't have to wait too long before it was my turn. The salon is a great place to relax while getting a manicure or pedicure. Everyone was very nice and put up a smile to every customer. I strongly recommend this salon for their professional quality and excellent services. more

not bad of a place 12/30/2005

One of my friend went with me to Silk Nail Salon, and the experiene was not too bad. Because I had an appointment, I was not made to wait for along time. After I picked out a color, I was seated in a spa chair and the ladies began to work on my nails. They did not make much conversation, but, they did get the job done pretty quickly. Their selection of nail polish is not very great, and their customer service could have been better, but, what I liked about Silk Nail Salon were the prices. The prices were pretty affordable and somewhat cheap. For about 24 dollars, I was able to get both a manicure and a pedicture. more

awful place 11/16/2005

I went to Silk Nail Salon with my friend one day and I had the worst experience. When I first entered the store, I was asked to pick out a color. The selection of colors is not very big and I was looking at the colors and was asked to hurry because they were busy. I quickly picked out a color that I barely wanted and sat down to get a manicure and a pedicure. The price was pretty reasonable, but, the customer service was awful. The manicurists were all speaking amongst themselves in their native tongue, which made me a little uncomfortable, because I had new idea what they were talking about or if they were talking about me. To make the long story short, I did not have a great experience here because the customer service was awful, and even though the prices are not bad at all, the service and sterility of the place is not worth the low cost you pay. more

Silks Salon 10/28/2005

My best freind recommend this place to me. She told me that they do a good job even though they are not the nicest of people. I decided to check it out thinking how bad could it be. I had a horrible time!! The lady that did my nails was the rudest person that I have ever met. She barely gave me time to pick my polish color. She kept telling me to hurry up. So I actually got fed up with her. I left the jar of polish on the conter and walked right out. I don't even think that she cared that I left. I would never return to that horrid salon! more

Bad Service, Pretty presentation 9/12/2005

This is the worst place to go if you want good service. Not only is the receptionist rude, but the people in there are really not very nice, unless you are planning to fork over hundreds of dollars for their “treatment”. The place may look nice and overall appearance, it seems like a good place to go, but once inside, the people were rude, they couldn’t or wouldn’t answer a simple question and they gave me the cold shoulder! I like the presentation of the place, but the service has got to improve before I ever come here again. more

The best mani/pedi in SF 8/18/2005

What can I say about Silk? How about if you get a pedicure, for $25 you are absolutely pampered for two hours, and you get a nail job that lasts for weeks. Or that getting an eyebrow wax is nearly pain free, efficient, and clean, clean lines. Or that they have plush recliners for your mani/pedi. Or that they have beautiful tins full of glass marbles to soak your feet in. Are you on your way there yet? more

Silk Nail Salon 8/5/2005

I like this place because when I make an appointment, I can expect to be seen on time. I have only had to wait once and I believe that was on a walk-in, which they accept. The employees are friendly and professional. You are seated in a cushioned massage chair which you can activate and control at your preference. The place is kept very clean and there is a large selection of nail polish colors. The service is good and although not inexpensive, the prices are competitive with high-priced nail spas and you certainly get your money's worth. more

Trying too hard to be what it's not 8/4/2005

I read some pretty great reviews of this place so I decided to try it. Most people have said that Silk Nail Salon is a really good deal for the price, but after having tried it, I think it's frankly a bit overrated. First of all, you pay $40 for a mani/pedi. At an upscale salon, you can pay well over that just for a pedicure. So in that sense, it's a good deal. But you're not really getting that much more for your money than some other less expensive places. The decor really isn't that nice and the technicians are always talking to each other and not really paying attention to what they are doing. I can't say that I remember them opening up a new sterilized package of utensils either. $40 is a bit pricey just for them to rub some cheap lotion on your feet. I guess you really do get what you pay for. . more

Silk Nail Salon 8/1/2005

I went here once a few years back when I was still pretty fresh and didnt need to see too many cosmetologists. The lady that took me seemed sweet but a little lost. She was very careful and at times felt too careful (and slow) when applying lotions-potions on my skin. I didnt have any problems with my skin after the visit but since the visit took way too long, I never went back to her. So, don't recomend Silk Nail Salon. more

Pampering at a practical price 6/22/2004

I've always considered beauty services to be too expensive to be worth it, especially when I don't have the money to burn. However, sometimes a girl needs some pampering. I came across Silk Nail Salon in my search for quality and affordable manicures and pedicures. They also have waxing services amongst other things. Both "quality" and "affordability" are difficult to find together when it comes to salons, but somehow I discovered it at Silk. Their service is professional and the salon itself is clean, pleasant, and well organized. It's not your posh spa experience, but at $30 for a Brazilian wax and $27 for an hour-long lotion pedicure, I'd say it's a lot of bang for your buck. more
