The band and dj that play, keeps the crowd going. the drinks are great and have just enough alchol in them. The food is the cherry on top. They are a great place to be, and so much fun on Thirsdays. Thats whwn me and a few girls like to go out. more

Everything on the menu is good! Order anything, and you'll probably like it. The wings are excellent. The chocolate bread pudding is definitely worth ordering, but be advised- they give you a lot. Waitstafff service is generally good, and they'll be happy to recommend something on the menu. The atmosphere is retro-pop-modern, with an exciting club at night. I always have a great time when I go with my friends! Pros: Food, club, DJ Deejay are all great Cons: They aren't open for breakfast. more

Most amazing place in America's most gastronomically underrated town 2/18/2008

I was taken there by friends, two young locals , that explained to me, a New Yorker ,that Silk City would be the place to eat after 8, when everything is closed. It was spectacular. I paid 100$ for 3 of us including, drinks and a tip . God bless the food revolution that has taken place last decade and elevated simple dining into a new level. Everything was prepared to perfection, with familiar favorites as pork chops and meatloaf. Waitress was somehow hard to reach in not so busy place. That is the only negative remark. So glad they reopened... 1/24/2008

On a Friday night, we lucked out getting a booth at around 9:00p.m. The music was 80's pop and the service was friendly and prompt. I had the lentil burger which was very good and we split the buffalo chicken salad. Tastey! It's good to know that Silk City is back because Bar at North Third is getting more and more packed. They both have similiar menus. Pros: Having another bar/restaurant in No' Libs is a bonus Cons: sometimes too packed to get a table more

Great Night Spot 5/13/2005

Me, my girlfriend and my friend just went to Silk City for the first time tonight. It was really cool, I deffinitely recommend it. My friend and I had burgers, which were excellent, and my girlfriend had the fries which were pretty great too. It has a fun grungy atmosphere, being a small diner in Nothern Liberties. Check it out, it's open 24 hours on the weekends and til midnight on weeknights. Pros: grungy atmoshpere, fries, burgers Cons: none if you dont mind, parking on spring, garden st. more

My husband and I go every weekend. The food is typical diner fare which is fine by me but what keeps us coming back is the DRAMA! Its so much fun to watch the wait staff interact with each other. Great Food!! 11/26/2002

I used the Citysearch to find a good place to eat breakfast early in the morning, as I was picking up my brother at the Airport at 6:30AM. I decided that we would try this place. What a pleasant surprise!! We both got exactly what was ordered, the service was promt and courteous, and the food was very good and the portions were large. The prices are extremely reasonable, and although the decor was a bit lacking, its a great place for breakfast!! Pros: Grreat food, inexpensive, parking Cons: decor more

Best Diner in Philly 11/23/2002

This is where my husband and I go for meals when we are in Philadelphia. They have an excellent breakfast menu and their eggs benedict are very good. Their lunch specials are great and offer a nice variety of International Cuisine. As for desserts, their apple pie is scrumptious especially when it is slightly warmed up and served ala mode. Sobering-Up food 7/23/2002

What better way to end a night but over a plate of sweet potato fries and a milkshake?? Its open 24 hours on the weekend so staying out late isn't a problem if you're hungry. Just prepared to wait in line at about 2 am after the bars let out, but its a great time to people watch. I reccommened their fries and the black russian, and maybe a piece of pie to top it off. silk city is a great spot for late-night dining. the menu is a step above your typical greasy diner. also it's right on spring garden so it's close to philly bars such as Finnigan's Wake, McFadden's, and Tiki Bob's Cantina. so it's a good spot to hit after a night of boozing more
