I highly recommend Signature Home Improvements! I had major remodeling done in my master bath, kitchen, and guest bath. I couldn't be happier with the beautiful results! From the initial meeting through the final finishing details, everyone associated with the company was very kind, helpful, and professional. The work shows careful attention to detail and craftsmanship. They finished a couple of weeks ahead of schedule and on budget, too. They listened carefully to my picky requests, and were always willing and eager to do whatever it took to make me happy with the results. I am definitely a happy customer who will use them again should the need arise, more

Don't go with this contractor. We tried for four months to get our $50K project going. We always had to call them - they didn't call us. The company was bought about a year ago and now they are much different. They are taking advantage of Austin's growth but don't seem to have the infrastructure to handle it. Emily the boss, was so defensive when we complained that we had to constantly interrupt her to say what the problems were and even then they continued to be late without attention to detail. Signature Home improvements started our job on Jan. 7, 2013 and refuses to finish because we refuse to make the final payment. We refuse to make the final payment because there are several problems that need to be resolved. Most importantly, the did not pull the required permits through the city of Round Rock. They claim permits were not needed and claim to have been told by the city that this is the case. We have now been told by two different people at the City of Round Rock that permits were indeed required, including Mark Remmert, the Building Official. In addition, 4 electrical code violations have already been found in the island alone. UPDATE: the kitchen has been inspected by a licensed electrician and many more code violations were found on 6/18/13. We are currently awaiting mediation with the Better Business Bureau. Not only are we concerned about whether we can ever sell our house or make an insurance claim if there is a fire, but is it even safe to be living here? Stay away from Signature Home Improvements. And, if you have used them in the past I hope they got permits-if not, get a 3rd party inspection. more

No permits pulled multiple code violations 6/7/2013

We hired SHI in August for a remodel to start in September. Little did we know that they had overextended themselves and taken way more jobs than they could reasonably handle at one time. They told us they would lead us through the entire process, telling us what to do and when so that there would never be a question of what was expected and we would never be left wondering what was supposed to be happening and when. After several emails that were ignored by SHI, we were finally told we should choose granite first so we asked where to go and they finally got back to us with a vendor list. We chose granite then heard almost nothing from them, in spite of repeated calls and emails, for several months, until they finally said they could start in December. We were constantly asking what they needed from us and constantly ignored or told that we didn't need to do anything. I have emails to prove this. The December start date was then pushed to January 2-then January 7th. It is J more

Kitchen & Bath Remodel 2/14/2013

We chose Signature Home Improvement (SHI) to remodel our kitchen and master bath because they do not use subcontractors. We felt that the job would go more smoothly. SHI workers have a good comradery, work well together and help each other if needed. They are skilled and their work is impeccable. We felt that each crew showed great attention to detail as they worked in our home The job took about 7 weeks. Being home alone all day, I cannot stress how comfortable I always felt with the SHI employees in my home everyday. \r It was a pleasure working with Emily, Heather and Savannah. No matter how big or small the problems, they were always there to solve them. It is comforting to know that we can count on them for any problems that arise in our home. I would absolutely hire Signature Home Improvements again and have already recommended them to numerous friends. more

\r Although we signed the contract with Jason, I eventually worked with Emily. Emily is knowledgeable and helped me lay out the different tiles for my kitchen and bath and it all came together. Martin installed the tiles. He did a wonderful job. With the help of Amador, the painter, they revised my tile design to integrate a travertine window seal. I was skeptical, but it is a favorite detail in the remodel. I searched for almost two months for just the right tiles, and I think that it would be helpful for future clients if SHI had a showroom with design ideas and samples of tiles, etc.\r Original contract called for a dimmer for the kitchen lights. I never felt that we needed a dimmer, but felt that we needed one more canned light. Emily was so easy to work with and switched the dimmer for another canned light. The electrician, Sergio, was so patient while he helped me figure out where the canned lights would be located. Supports under our granite bar were not in contract, but were needed, and SHI added the supports and trim at no extra cost and it looks terrific. Hetsiel and Amador took down wallpaper, repaired sheetrock and painted walls and kitchen cabinets and stained bath cabinets. They did an amazing job. Joe, the plumber, also took great care making sure the plumbing jobs were perfect.\r After the job was completed and the final check was written, a hole the size of straight pin head appeared in the travertine counter in the master bath. SHI sent Tomas out to repair the hole at no cost to us. Then, five months after the job was completed, I knocked over a (very heavy) stone soap dispenser into one of my porcelain bath sinks. It cracked and chipped the sink. I was so upset, but I called Signature and they came to our rescue. They cut out the broken sink, installed a new sink and reconnected the plumbing at what we thought was a very reasonable price. \r more

Signature recently installed beautiful new granite countertops and a travertine back-splash with glass tile inserts. I told myself I would only get 3 estimates and then I would choose the one company I was most comfortable with. The third company that came in was so ‘shady’ I allowed myself one more and I am so glad I called Signature. The quality and service we received was outstanding. MJ and the entire staff were extremely helpful and walked us through the whole process. We will definitely be calling Signature for future home improvements and highly recommend them to anyone else looking to do the same. more

We just completed a kitchen remodel with Signature. New cabinets, stained existing cabinets, granite countertops and travetine with glass backsplash. The entire experience from the first meeting with MJ to the punch list with MJ was an absolute delight. These folks know how to run a business. They were always up front and honest about everything. Someone was always available for us to call if we had a question. Even on the weekend I was able to contact MJ. No hidden cost, no fine print, just simply the most professional group of people you can imagine. The craftman were all extremely knowlegdeable in their particular craft and did a superb job. They worked together and produced an absolute perfect product. MJ would stop by periodically to make sure everything was running smoothly. We are 100% satisfied with the project and will definitely call on Signature to do our next home improvement. more

Signature Home Improvements completed a kitchen remodel for me this summer and I really enjoyed working with them. Since this was my first experience with remodeling, I needed a lot of hand-holding. They were MORE than helpful on every aspect of the process. The girls in the office are knowledgeable and respectful of my time when scheduling. The people who came into my home were always polite and friendly and offered suggestions that I hadn't thought of. The finished product was beautiful and ON BUDGET! I highly recommend SHI. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/3/2012

I had new cabinets made as well as granite countertops and two doorways widened and arched. The workmanship and professionalism of the different crews is greatly appreciated and I have no problem paying a little more for the quality of work. Having all of the workers coming from the same place and all being employed by Signature made it easier and quicker to correct any issues we found (there were not many and all were minor). My only suggestion would be more/better communication between the different crews as well as with scheduling. There were a couple of times when the crews were unclear as to the specifics of the job, but they were quickly resolved. As I am employed in Afghanistan, they were still easy to work with and I appreciate their ability to work with my schedule while I was on vacation. The kitchen looks 1,000 times better and I would definitely hire them again! You get what you pay for and Signature is a great company with great employees. more

MJ and his crew at Signature Home Improvements Inc. just completed remodeling a few aspects of our kitchen. They worked on our countertops, backsplash, cabinet repair and some plumbing work. We are very pleased with the new look these changes have given to our kitchen! The office staff and workers were very professional, polite, helpful and friendly. My husband and I loved working with this company and will do it again to complete the rest of the kitchen project early next year. If you are looking to get a home improvement project, call them, get estimate and consultation, plan ahead and be sure to have plenty of time to deal with all the small details that naturally come with this kind of situation. more

Signature Home Improvements did a fabulous job of working with our vision for our master bathroom. We wanted a free standing vanity with definite features and they accommodated all of our needs. The employees were always friendly and willing to answer any questions that we had. We appreciated this, because it was our first major remodel on our fifteen year old house. We will definitely be using them when we get ready to do our kitchen remodel. Very pleased with the final results! more

Signature Home Improvements just finished a project at our house and we are very happy with the results. We had our entire kitchen remodeled (cabinet resurfacing, tile, countertops, new island, backsplash, paint, etc.) The employees that work for Signature are very nice and easy to have in your home. They are also perfectionists - if I needed something corrected that I did not feel had been done to my liking, there was never any question. The issue would be taken care of immediately and I never got the feeling that they were the slightest bit annoyed with my nit-picking. A couple of times, the employees would catch their own mistake and correct it before I even had a chance to say anything. The price was agreed upon before the project, so we never felt like we were being taken advantage of. The project took longer than expected, but that is a very small price to pay for a job done well. They have experts in their respective fields and I am not sure that we have ever had a plumber as good as theirs. I can?t see one mistake in the backsplash and we finally came up with a solution for a new island that gives us a ton more storage. After looking around at different companies for a kitchen remodel, I realized we were going to have to have a company that could do it all ? and we found it with Signature Home Improvements. more

My husband and I are extremely happy 6/11/2012

My husband and I are extremely happy with our new granite kitchen counter top and tile back splash installed by Signature Home Improvements. The demo crew, installation crew, plumber, tiler and finisher were such professional craftsmen and obviously took pride in not only their work, but their company. While we knew what granite we wanted, we received much-needed assistance with the back splash tile selection ??? thanks, Emily! We highly recommend Signature! more

We love our new kitchen! 5/17/2012

After checking Angie's list and consulting with three contractors, we chose Signature Home Improvements to remodel our 22-year-old kitchen. We wanted new cabinets with inserts, granite countertops, tile backsplash, cabinet lights and wallpaper removal. Estimates were about the same from all three companies, but we were impressed with the fact that Signature would do nearly all the work, rather than subcontracting, which meant they could complete it in a much shorter time period (three weeks compared to up to three months) than the other two companies we contacted. Mickey was very knowledgeable and was able to give us an estimate on the spot that was very close to what we ultimately spent.. After we committed to a contract, Armanzo came out to measure and to tweak our design plan. He had great suggestions that resulted in a very attractive and very functional kitchen. The demolition was limited to about a week and the mess was kept to a minimum with plastic sheeting. The cabinets were being constructed in their shop during that time, so they were ready for installation as soon as the demolition, painting and wiring were complete. When all the lower cabinets were in place, templets were drawn for the granite counters and they were installed a few days later. Lastly, the backsplash was intstalled. The majority of the work was done in the estimated time. From start to finish, the workers were polite, knowledgeable and cleaned up after themselves every day. When everything was complete, Armanzo meticulously went over every inch of the kitchen to personally fix anything that was not perfect. We now have the kitchen we had dreamed about for years. In a year or two we plan to remodel our bathrooms and Signature will be our first choice. more

Dream Bath Realized! 5/13/2012

We did a complete renovation of our guest bathroom including removal of the tub, moving the toilet, taking out the double vanity and installing a pocket door to replace the regular door. Signature was great from planning to completion! Everyone, to a person was skilled, friendly and responsive to our needs. We were called each evening by the office staff to review the plans for the next day and who would be arriving at our home. They installed beautiful travertine tile in the new, curbless shower, on the floor and a 48"" wainscotting on the walls. The custom single vanity cabinet with granite top is amazing and they even built a ponywall between the vanity and toilet with adjustable shelving to my specifications. Frameless, sliding glass door was installed in the new 45"" wide shower. We would definitely recommend them and will use them again when other projects arise. Completely satisfied. more

Great cabinet renovation 5/9/2012

We upgraded our kitchen five years ago but didn't replace the cabinets at that time becuase they still looked good and were completely serviceable. After five years they had started to show wear and tear. Signature Home Improvement offered a very cost effective solution to our problem in cabinet tinting. They provided an in home visit to scope the work and provided an accurate estimate of the efforts. They completed the work on schedule and within the cost estimate. The workmen were professional, courteous and responsive to our requests. We love the results and are totally satisfied with the project and strongly recommend them to anyone looking for similar services. Definitely a five star company! more

Great experience 5/6/2012

My husband and I were incredibly impressed by Signature Home Improvements. We remodeled our ""master bath"" in our 1950's ranch home (quotations used because the bathroom was the size of a coffin -- were people Hobbits back in the 50s?!). We gave up our original master closet to gain more room for the bathroom, and lost a little square footage in the bedroom to add in a new closet. Our project included the following tasks: demo, wall construction, flooring, tile, cabinetry, putting up drywall and insulation, moving plumbing, moving light fixtures, patching walls, hanging doors and bi-fold doors, installing glass shower doors, painting, matching our old moulding and installing/repairing our hardwood floor (where needed). They also had to match the 50's style texturing on the walls in the bedroom, but in the bathroom I requested and got a much smoother wall finish, since all the walls were replaced. The benefit of going with SHI is that MOST of the work is done in-house and they have a much tighter control on costs and scheduling. They have a much better grasp of time frames, costs, scale of work, etc. and communication is a lot easier when you are dealing with one company. I have heard friends' horror stories about construction and escalating costs, and I experienced none of that. My husband is an architect and has had to create tons of punch lists for projects to catch errors made during construction. He was so extremely impressed when it was our time to make a punch list at the end of the project -- everything was done at a high quality and done right the first time. The staff at SHI was always courteous and professional, and I felt like I could communicate with them easily during the entire project. I would recommend them to any of my friends in town. Also: I posted photos of my new bathroom on Facebook and a friend gave me the ultimate compliment: ""At first I thought this was a photo of a fancy hotel you were staying in. This is your home? That's lovely!"" more

Complete master bathroom remodel. Removed old tub, shower, tile, vanity, sinks, cabinets, ceiling mounted swag light fixtures, wallpaper, ceiling popcorn texture, flooring, toilet, and exhaust fan. Basically removed everything down to the studs in the shower area, and down to the drywall and foundation throughout the rest of the bathroom. Installed hardibacker board in the shower area. Built custom shower pan, marble step, and subway tile surround with two marble shelves. Installed frameless glass shower doors. Installed new shower control, handheld shower, and bar. Installed new recessed can light fixtures and exhaust fan in shower area. Installed new toilet and control valve. Replaced broken flange on sewer connection. Built new custom cabinets above toilet. New custom vanity cabinets with flush mount doors and drawers. Marble countertop for vanity with two undermount sinks. Installed two new faucets and controls. Custom built and installed two new recessed medicine cabinets. Installed new wall mounted sconce light fixtures. Installed new recessed can light. Textured and painted walls and ceiling. Installed and painted new beadboard wainscoting. Installed and painted new baseboards. Painted three doors. Installed new tile flooring throughout bathroom and wood flooring in connected walk-in closet. Installed new towel bar, towel rings, and toilet paper holder. Replaced all switches, plugs and wallplates. Everyone at Signature Home Improvement was a pleasure to work with. We will definitely hire them for our next remodel project. Our initial contact was with Jason Flippo (founder) who came to our home to gather information, measurements, and scope the project for an estimate. Later, we went to Signature Home Improvement's office to finalize a contract and take a tour of their facility. The office staff (Heather, Savannah, and Mimi) coordinated workflow, materials and schedules. They communicated with us everyday to let us know what to expect. We were never in the dark about when the next craftsman would arrive and the work they would perform. The project supervisor (Armanzo) came by frequently (every day at the start of the project). He helped us a lot by coming up with multiple design alternatives for vaious aspects of the project, and then helping us choose one that made sense. The craftsmen (Ventura, Carlos, Martin, Aurelio, Tara, Joe, Sergio; apologies for any names I omitted) arrived either on time or slightly earlier than scheduled every day. They were friendly, skilled, and thorough. They were professional and treated us and our house with courtesy and respect. Except where logistics prevented it (waiting for grout to dry, epoxy to cure, etc.), someone was working every day. Their attention to detail and quality is very much appreciated. There are also many craftsmen (whose work was completed at Signature Home's facility; cabinet builders, painters, stone fabricators, etc.) whom we never met. Their attention to detail and quality is also very much appreciated. They took steps to protect floors, walls, and furniture that were not part of the remodel. The crew cleaned up every day and at the end of the project hauled away excess construction materials. The only way our project could have gone better is if they did it for free. more

Spa-style master bath 4/19/2012

Armanzo and colleagues have done an outstanding work in reconfiguring and remodeling our master bath. The custom cabinetry and tile are excellent in every way. Joe, Humberto, Aurelio, Tara, and others were careful with our home as they demolished, jackhammered, scraped, taped, floated, tiled, grouted and painted an exquisite master bath. Five years ago, Signature did a superb job with a complete remodel of our kitchen. This group also designed, built, and installed lovely custom cabinets and vanity for our hall bath. We highly recommend them. more
