Sidex is high pressure 4/21/2010

The salesman came out and was nice enough but wouldn't leave! He stayed 3 1/2 hours even after we said we wanted to think about it. Real high pressure, insisted we commit that night, even said he would change from salesman to banker to make it happen. Turns out we were right in refusing to cave in, we got the same great windows for $9000 LESS (his first price ) , and $5000 LESS than his rock bottom price 2 mos later. Yes he kept bugging us. The other company had the same features, that he told us were exclusive to his company, includ the Good Housekeeping Seal, etc. And the other company salesman took only an hour of our time, and left literature with us, even when we said we needed to think about it. Sidex guy left nothing for us to review. more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 12/10/2009

Our situation was similar to those posted below. We agreed to the free in home estimate with no obligation to buy at this time. We were told that our quote would be good for a year. The salesman was very friendly at first, went through his presentation, measured our bathtub, showed us samples, and had pretty much convniced us that we would like a new tub from them. Then he started talking about the cost, which was reasonable, but we are having financial hardships right now and hadn't planned on doing our tub until the summer. He kept asking what he could do to get us to agree to commit to a new tub, and would stare at us silently and blankly just wanting us to say yes. We told him we cannot possibly afford a payment right now, but that we liked the product and his presentation. Then, he started packing up his stuff not saying a word for about 3 minutes (laptop, paperwork, samples) and the only thing he said was "can you get the door". AVOID AT ALL COSTS 12/7/2009

I agree with everything that Anonymouse R said. The friendly first guy stopped by, and I agreed to a free estimate. The salesman who came the next night was anything but as friendly. He was a pushy salesman who gave me a quote, then tried knocking hundreds and thousands off of it until it was only 2/3 his original quote! He kept saying it's only for tonight - tomorrow it'll be more!! When I asked him to leave, he insisted on making some phone calls to "try to get me a better price," which was obviously a sales gimmick. The whole experience was so surreal that I found it humorous, however I can see how others could easily be pressured into a purchase. When the salesman left, I said "Just send me all the info you can so I can make a decision." He asked if he could follow up with a phone call. I told him No, I prefer things in writing and don't like to talk on the phone without a paper trail and time to think about such important matters. Despite that, they've called me almost a more

Lower bills already! 8/6/2009

I am so glad I did what the sales rep said we needed to do. I see a reduction in our energy bills already, and the prices of have gone up since the windows were installed. Very happy! I give them a 110 out of 100! more

The other day, a man with no uniform and no credentials came to our door and, despite there being not one but TWO "No Soliciting" signs on our doors, he rang the bell. He told us that he was in the area working on another project and would we like a free quote on windows or siding. We had recently gotten a quote from a local contractor and said no. He persisted, and finally, we figured, what's the harm in getting a free quote that's valid for 18 months if it makes this guy go away... so we did. The next day, another guy came out and gave us an extremely high pressure, scripted sales pitch after he measured everything and did the quote. The entire thing lasted over 6 hours, and after we told him repeatedly that we were not going to spend 16k at this time, he started knocking off $500 here, $1000 there, $200, etc. However, these discounts and incentives were ONLY available if you blindly said Yes "right now". After giving a contractor half down to put windows in a house we were rehabbing, he disappeared!\r Sidex didn?t ask for much of a down payment, came out before they originally estimated and did the project in 1 day??.picture perfect! \r I since gave them 2 other homes to do. I wish the plumbers, electricians & other contractors were as prompt & efficient. more
